Has anyone here tried the new graphics overhaul for Deus Ex called "New Vision"? It's a wopping 1.5GB download! Good timing to revisit the game right now, with Human Revolution launching soon.
I still like the original even without an addon (truthfully I haven't looked at it) It is a great game, I loved trying to clear levels with stealth. One of my favourite gaming moments was when I got tired of playing a niceguy and massacred an entire nightclub in it.
Deus Ex is my all time favourite game - played through it to many times to count. Playing through it right now with New Vision on my iMac - Realistic Setting with a focus on Pistols & Stealth. New Vision looks great and is a must for playing this game now - I won't play without it I wish I could get Shifter and The Nameless Mod to work with Crossover - but sadly everything I try has failed. But The Nameless Mod is a great mod (it is actually more a full length game that just happens to require a copy of DX to play) that any DX fan should give a few play throughs!!! I have beat it 3 times, and if I ever get it working on the iMac I look forward to playing it a couple more dozen
I would try it, but Dragon Age 2 won't let me, and Human Revolution is coming in 2 weeks. And then Dark Souls. And then Skyrim. And then Mass Effect 3. Pretty busy times for RPG lovers
So, I gave it a quick try. WOW, its really nice! Ok, its never gonna be Gears of War, but really great improvement. The gameplay obviously was always there, but the old engine never aged particularly well. this really adds a great deal of nice detail to the game, I would say that it brings it quite close to the graphical quality of the original Half-Life. This combined with HDTP Mod really makes it a pleasure to play. Thanks for the tip on Nameless, will check that out when I get home from work
