Thanks guys. Just a quick reminder to please update your reviews. Helps a lot. The next game, Demon's Rise: Lords of Chaos, is going well. Still on track for an early September submission to Apple. Working on adding lots of new magic items.
Not yet. Those might be a while because I want to finish the next game launch. I would guess new levels for this game would probably arrive around christmas, given the time needed to support the next game's launch. Also, I want to start working on thw sci fi variant soon too.
auto loot? Hey Dev, I just started a new game. Is the auto loot still in the game? Played 2 level, and i think it's gone!
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's still there. When you kill the last enemy, all the gold should be picked up automatically. I'll double check on my end.
I'm not a huge fan of sci-fi SRPGs. But you have my support! Can you throw us a bone in terms of details on the Demon Rise sequels?
I guess you won't be too interested in this... Screen Shot 2016-08-25 at 4.20.57 PM by Rajpreet Dhillon, on Flickr I took a break from the endless rounds of polish and tweaking the next Demon's Rise game to finally start the Sci Fi variant. I'm adding a lot of new features like variable heights (see the aliens on the upper levels and stairs in the pic) and lots of new gameplay elements to reflect the pinning effects of gunfire, new psychology rules, commander skills and so on. Been working on the GUI, which I want to make much more dynamic and interesting than the current Demon's Rise GUI. In terms of next plans for Demon's Rise games after Lords of Chaos launches, I am planning to do a Demon's Rise set in the ruins of a Lizardmen city in a steamy jungle environment. I'm thinking of having two different factions in that one that the player can choose and thus have a different campaign depending on which faction he joins. Probably Ratmen and human mercenaries as the two major factions.
correction auto loot is there. If i recall correctly you use to have it as "loot and exit". That's why i thought it was gone... BTW anyone playing this game on Hard difficulty? It really quite a challenge
Yeah, the hard difficulty is really meant for when you have a high level party and want to challenge them. In the next game, I made it so that you can replay the campaign levels as often as you want. That way, you can replay earlier levels on hard when you have a higher level team. I'll try to bring this feature back into the first game but it's quite a lot of work to do so it's not something that will happen soon. I will try to add a "Reset Campaign Progress" button in the next patch for the first game so players with high-level parties can reset the progress. That will be easy and I just forgot to include it in the last patch.
There's no level cap. In terms of campaign length, there are 6 weeks, each with a focus on a paryicular event or enemy faction. There are also 50 patrol levels. You unlivk more patrols as you move ahead in the campaign.
I finally complete all 6 weeks of quest. There is a twist in week 6 quest, we have to make a choice on the situation. Hope to have such twist in future quest. Hope the patch for resetting of quest progress will come out soon. It is more exciting to go through quest than going through random patrol quest. Altogether this is an awesome game .
Save game issue So far have played first dungeon week one. Saved it then try to go back to start next dungeon, load save game but it puts me right back at the very start every time. Don't have time normally to play more than one dungeon. is there no way to fix this?
Questions I've been playing the game for about a week now - there's a few things I don't get... How is it that I can buy and equip Lvl 40+ equipment from the vendor when my toons are only Lvl ~4? Also, where is the rhyme or reason the the gear that is sold? I've figured that the raw quality of an item (regardless of epic/legendary/rarity) is best determined by its cost. But I can find a green Lvl 30 item that is better than a purple Lvl 20 item, and it cost less. Color seems to be almost irrelivent.
Criticism The only real Gripe I have about the game are the transitions. I'm talking about things like when you go to the shop in town, there's a delay and intro the gets old. Also, in combat, when switching from toon to toon, there's a camera shift and unnecessary moment of not being able to do actions. I wish I could cycle-attack/action-cycle-attack/action-cycle-etc...
I thought weapons degraded over time... The lower priced higher level weapons are all damaged or close to damaged...
I'm not sure I understand. The game autosaves at the end of each turn. So if you quit the game, when you start the game again and load your save, it gives you the option of resuming your in-progress battle or going back to camp. You can also go back to your last auto save during a battle by just clicking the load autosave button. However, if you choose to leave a battle by clicking the "return to camp" button then the autosave is lost because it's treating it as the players fleeing the level. Does that make sense? Basically, if you want to stop a battle and play later, just click "quit game" or just minimize the game. If the OS kicks the game out of memory, just load your save and you can resume your battle.
