    Just a quick note that since the game is largely complete now, I'm going to start the porting process. I'll port to Mac OS X, Android, Windows 10 and Windows 8.1 mobile over the next couple months while also working on Demons Rise - Path to Damnation. Will still add another patch or two (or as many as are needed) for this game going forward.

    Thanks for picking up and supporting the game. When it does arrive, please share your thoughts. I'm starting work now on the next games so am eager to hear how the new features work out. I'm absolutely loving them myself. I've had several instances where my tightly huddled group of heroes were taken out by a single grenade from a ratman gunner. Brought back memories of playing XCOM in the 80's. :)

    Fantasic! Easily my most wanted feature... I've been juggling 5 saves with different class combinations, and this will really help with exploring all the team dynamics.

    Absolutely love this game. It was a lot of fun at launch, and the superb dev support has made it ever better.

    In the same tavern, you can also add 1 of 3 new mercenaries to the game. They fight for your party for a set contract term measured in battles. Each are mid to high level characters and have 3 unique abilities. The Marksman is a very good ranged archer that can fire bursts of arrows in a turn or can shoot a single explosive arrow. The Freeblade is a good front-line melee fighter with a 2-handed sword. Not heavily armoured but she does regenerate health and has both very good offensive and defensive melee skills. Lastly, the Rogue Mage is a good, well-rounded mage that hurls lightning bolts around and can also buff nearly allies. So lots of new possible combinations and new tactics to try out.

    Also, the divine blessings are one time bonuses to all members of your party granted by the gods. So you can even plan strategies around using a specific blessing. Some of them are really powerful and each focussed around a particular theme / god's powers.

    Hey guys,

    Started to work on porting the game to Mac OS X. For that, I'm doing some improvements to graphics and audio as well as adding some options like having corpses stay on the battlefield when a character / enemy dies. Also adding some cool blood splatter on the ground when characters die as well. Here's a picture of the Mac OS X version that shows better quality dynamic shadows, better lighting, lens flares, etc.

    The improvements will be rolled into the next iOS patch (v2.1) but slightly toned down. So the lens flares and blooms will be included but only as an option so people with the latest and greatest iOS hardware can turn them on if they want. Also, the persistent corpses and blood splatter will also be in v2.1 but with an option to switch it off.

    So please download and let me know what you think.

    Also ... please, please, please update your reviews of the app once you download. It really helps to have reviews of the latest version on the app store.

    Three trained assassins have been whiffing at a rat ogre for five minutes without landing a single hit at 100% hit chance.

    I really appreciate it when a game straight up lies to you. Hallmark of a great game right there. A+ design.

    Sorry for the confusion. I had made a change where the chance to hit is capped between 15% minimum and 85% maximum but I had forgotten to update the code in the attack summary. I'll make that fix in the next update.

    I'm a bit surprised that you still miss that much though. Are you using low level assassins and playing the early patrol mission where your whole party faces a single rat ogre? The rat ogre is a high-level enemy and has a high dodge chance and lots of wounds. That level is pretty hard for a low level party to deal with by using frontal assault tactics. Might be easier to try and use spells or other abilities to control it instead.

    Anyway, if you are finding the game hard, you can always just adjust the difficulty in the options. Setting it to easy will make hitting easier. I did actually make an update in the 2.0 patch that increases base hit chance of all characters ... are you playing with the latest version?

    Next would be porting the game to some other platforms .... Windows 10 / Windows 10 Mobile, Mac OS X, Android, Amazon and then Steam.

    After that, will be working on the next game which will be more story driven with the player characters being the central part of the story as opposed to just mercenaries in a larger war as in the case of this game. The idea behind that next game is that the players are actually evil characters in pursuit of power.

    After that .... hopefully will work on a sci-fi variant. I may work on both simultaneously just because I'm really itching to work on the sci-fi version.

    'Boy, I sure love more random chance in my battles. A goblin patrol taking half an hour to die, gotta get me some of that.' thought no one ever.

    The new ogre mercenary is completely useless because of this. With every single hit chance buff and enemy dodge debuff, he hits less than once every five turns.

    These hit rates are completely ridiculous. The new patch is borderline unplayable.

    I'm sorry ... I don't really understand. I've actually increased the base hit chance of the characters in this patch. The only thing I changed was that if you have a final hit chance over 85%, it stays at 85%. Similarly, the hit chance never falls below 15%. It's just a cap on either extreme.

    Again, if you're finding the game hard just switch to the easy mode. There's basically no penalty ... it's only if you play on hard do you get more gold. Also, if you're playing the quest and finding a level too hard, just play some patrols to level up your party or hire a mercenary in your band to help out or use some diving favour / blessings from the new temple. There are lots of new ways to beef up your party now.

    I have tested this version very heavily and really like the difficulty curve. Still probably a bit too hard at the early game but that's similar to XCOM so I'm okay with that. Once your characters gain a couple levels it works out nicely.

    Absolutely ... that's something I'll put together when I start to tackle changes for the new game. If I get it working nicely, I'll back port it to this game through a patch.
