    Hmmm, any chance of getting flanking bonuses?!?! Just a thought. Kinda miss them in a turn based game. Even if it was just for melee characters.

    That would be cool, I'll try take a look later on with my d&d book see which ones might work and just tell you a selection of them to give you an idea and then you do what you want.

    Probably not possible in this game. There isn't a concept of facing here so it would be tricky to implement. With the way that morale works, it's generally a bad idea to be surrounded by enemy unless you're fearless so it's kind of there already ... just baked into the morale system.

    If I do ever build a larger scale battle game based on this core code, I do plan to add a proper flanking element.

    Hi guys,

    Could someone please check if the game is working correctly after the 1.2 patch with a new game? I just received a couple of bad reviews saying that the game doesn't work? The reviews don't explain what exactly is the issue ... just that it doesn't work. I don't have version 1.2 on my device any more. Can someone with 1.2 try creating a few new parties and let me know if there is some problem?

    Played it a bit earlier- it seems fine (1.2). It wouldn't be older devices ? Running mine on iPad Air.

    Just tried a new game & party. No problems.

    Can someone who's finished the game let me know if the game now loads to a proper final level now in v1.2? I did the changes but couldn't test it as I don't have a save game that has finished the first 5 quests yet. Also, those players that have finished the 5 quests should now be able to play an assortment of later level patrols rather than just the first patrol level. Can you please confirm this is the case with v1.2?

    In other news, I am horribly jet lagged in my hotel room in Germany. It's 4am local time and I cannot sleep despite going to bed around 10:30pm. So after trying to sleep for the past 5 hours and failing, I thought I'd do a bit of game dev. Here's the character review screen for one of the pre-built teams. Basically, once you select your pre-built team ... the level loads to a screen where you can look at the team members and check out their stats and change their names if you want. However, you can't change the team composition.

    Also, I fixed the Tree Giant's textures ... it was heavily compressed for no real reason. The Tree Giant should look much more detailed now, as you can see from the picture above.

    I think might be cool to add a button that brings up some more in-depth background story for the selected team here as well. Would be a nice way to get the players involved int eh background lore and history of this particular mercenary party.

    I am loving this game, I can't wait for more! I'm on my second play through with different characters, tons of replay value.

    Yes that's it. Or just copy the whole bubbles in the stats screen with explanations around so when you press the ? you see them all.

    Absolutly, that would be real nice. I also think a pre-built team doesnt need the option to change the names. Perhaps that way you could introduce some story line within the campaign that relates to a specific character. But even thinking about that I realise it would require a lot of developing time. Best concentrate on other things to make the game better first I'm guessing.

    Oh and I hope the jet lag goes, from what I am told it can really stuff you around for days.

    What is the final level?

    Before, I would just get stuck in a loading screen w/ a scrollable progress bar. Currently, I get redirected to a page that says your adventures are over, go play some patrol levels.

    What are the later level patrols? I did get stuck in one patrol level where I think there was an Illusioner in the party (not in my party but came with the level). I didn't control anyone/use the character, but the game wouldn't end despite killing all the enemies in sight.

    P.S. Playing on an iPad 3, so it works on an iPad 3. :)

    I'm also getting some bugs were after spell failure (i.e. Chronomancer abilities), my commands lock up and I can't issue commands to any unit (I have to restart the level or flee the battle).

    Yep, that's the final level for now. I'm actually working on some more content that will via a free update. It will add 6 more quest levels and about 8 more patrol levels. The focus will be on undead and will feature new undead enemies like zombies, mummies, reapers and so forth. You can go through the earlier pages of the thread for some previews as well as the news section of the demon's rise website.

    That's definitely one of the final patrol levels. It's where you get to use some elements of a new human faction. These guys will feature more prominently in new levels that are added. For that level, did you ever use the Illusionist's mind control ability? I'm wondering if you ran into the bug where using Mind Control can result in the end of the level button never appearing. I thought I fixed this in v1.2 but perhaps it was fixed in v1.3, which is currently sitting with Apple.

    Interesting ... I haven't seen that. Can you tell me which ability? Can you re-produce it if you try the ability now? I haven't really tested the later Chronomancer abilities on a real device so there may be some bugs with them. The more info you can give, the quicker I'll be able to find and fix the problem.     Hey guys ... quick update. The pre-built team selections are done. So now players can either form a party of their own choice from all characters or choose one of 4 pre-built teams that are well balanced and have a background story to them.

    Going to work on some of the general UI improvements that have been requested on the battle UI. After that, will likely get back to the new content for the new levels.

    Never issued commands to the unit.

    Re: Chronomancer, it's the abilities that give AP (the 2nd skill and Haste). I've had it happen twice in a round. Hard to reproduce since it requires ability to fail.
