Oh come on Apple...release this guys patch for goodness sake! He is trying to do the right thing and has quickly submitted patches, to fix a lot of players requests, for Apple to release and still we all wait. :-(
Checked this morning and it's still in the same state: Screen Shot 2015-09-01 at 7.28.05 AM by Rajpreet Dhillon, on Flickr Been like this for more than a week now. Oh well, can't be helped ... I'm sure they're buried under a mountain of apps they have to review. I'll try to make some progress on the new levels and will provide some screen shots. As I mentioned, the Halfling character is basically done. He was much easier than I thought. I'll do a proper write up on him and post details along with this abilities. Decided I'm going to release one new character with each content pack so the halfling will come with the first pack.
Yep ... just got a 1 star rating due to bugs that are fixed in the patches waiting with Apple. Oh well ... such is life. Teach me to do a bit more robust testing before release.
Just woke up to a nice review from MakeMac.com ... a site from Indonesia. http://www.makemac.com/review-demons-rise/ I don't speak Indonesian so I haven't gone through everything but the conclusion when plugged into Google Translate says this: "This game has good graphics , tactical strategy elements of a complex , realistic moral system and level very much . You will also be satisfied with the number of characters that can be selected, so you can repeat this game with different groups of different hero . Patrol mode Ruins promising unlimited replay value was hard to find a game complete with a very affordable price . So if you admit as a fan of strategy games , you should try this one game ."
Come on apple...you need to be fast...i am waiting for the new release to enjoy this awesome game...don;t know why they take so long to do it...
I was just going through the thread looking for other improvement requests and I think I missed responding to this question. Sorry for that. It's hard to say who is the best wizard since wizard's tend to perform a certain function. The Illusionist doesn't have the best direct damage spells but she can take control of an enemy and use them for a turn, which is very useful. She can also do some good summon spells and buffs / debuts. I'd say if you want a wizard that's enjoyable to use and one that makes you think ... go with her. However, note that there's a bug with her mind control ability that is fixed in a patch so perhaps hold off using her for a bit. For raw damage, it's definitely the Pyromancer. However, his abilities are big templates and will hurt both friends and enemies so it's really easy to end up hurting your own guys with him. Again, there's a bug with his cloak of flames spell that is fixed in a coming patch. The Storm Seer is probably the most well rounded as she has buffs, debuts, heals and some good damage spells. Probably my favourite and a good character to start out with in your team. Her abilities are almost always useful. The Chronomance is okay ... probably the weakest in my view. His abilities are mostly buffs / debuts and I think he might need a bit of a boost. I'm waiting on player feedback before I make any changes. Anyone used him? Any feelings on whether he's effective or too weak? The Stone Priest is a bit different in that he doesn't have a missile attack but he is much tougher than other wizards. Not an amazing fighter but he can definitely hold his own in melee, which the other wizard definitely can't do. His abilities are pretty decent ... a mix of buff and damage spells. I have some plans to possibly change his abilities but not sure I'll do that or not. There are some other guys that are basically a combination of fighter and wizard like the Paladin, Tree Giant and Earth Golem. They are each quite different and have their own pros and cons. However, for the "pure" wizards ... the above is a good overall summary. Hope that helps.
That shouldn't be too hard ... I actually have code that has 3 example parties for selection. I built this when I was trying to get the game to work on devices with 512MB RAM devices. The character selection screen with 25 characters would cause it to crash so I made 4 team levels with pre-built teams of six. I could probably re-use that code and those levels with an option that says "Prebuilt team" or something.
WaveLight, the game sounds awesome and the fact you're so responsive has pushed me to get the game after posting this, I don't believe this will become abandonware. Also, nullzone has given it a glowing review, gotta trust that. I think once you get the last patch through sites like TA, pocket gamer, and pocket tactics will likely give the game a chance and hopefully get some sales!
@woodrith: Thanks for the vote of confidence On another note, we hit 20.000 views for this thread! Congratulations!
I wish ... still quite a ways to go. However, it's okay ... our costs are so low that we don't need a lot of sales to keep going. Also, we should be getting some more reviews soon. It'll be interesting to see what those do for sales. Right now, I just wish Apple would approve the patches. Version 1.2 is still sitting in "Waiting for Review" stage as of this morning. Anyway, on to be better things. We'll showing a new monster preview today ...... the terrifying undead Giant.
I keep thinking about picking this up but waiting on the update or doesn't that really matter? I suppose getting more sales is just getting noticed and getting good reviews. Surprisingly I've actually downloaded games from advertisements too but those were mainly free and often deleted.
The remaining bugs just relate to three characters ... the Pyromancer, Illusionist and Tree Giant. If you avoid those 3 characters, then you shouldn't run into any issues. At least not until you finish the game. All of the bugs will be fixed when the v1.3 patch is released ... currently still waiting for the v1.2 patch to be approved and released by Apple. Also I will be bumping up the price by $2 when the first major content update is released. Though that could be a very long time judging by Apple's approval speeds...
Sigh... Will the update erased my save file?i ave bought your game and download it to my mac but never really get to play it It's not because it's not good but i kinda overwhelmed by the vast choice of character Do you have any suggestion what's the easiest characters to play for a beginner like me?
Nope, these patches won't affect your saved games. Everything should continue to work. If you're hesitating on a starter team, try this: - Elven Paladin - Half Giant - Gnome - Elven Archer - Storm Seer - Shadow Elf Assassin That should be a well-rounded and capable team. I'll add the option for 4 pre-selected starter teams with a unique history / background for them in a future update. Possibly the v1.3 patch.
