For DR1, it's a little harder. I can't think of too many "essential" team members or ones that stand heads and shoulders above others. But here's a good team that has several of my favourites: - Half Giant (good tank that has a long reach and can attack from two base distances away) - Elven Paladin or Skeleton Champion (both good all-round melee fighters and are both very strong in late game. Paladin has more AOE damage spells and Skeleton Champion has debuffs) - Halfling Thief (good healer, can find extra gold and a decent short-range missile unit) - High Mage (balanced wizard with a mix of damage AOE spells, mind control abilities, buffs, debuffs, etc.) - Storm Seer (very good healer and good damage spells) - Samurai or Centaur (able to switch from melee to missile role as needed - both very flexible. Centaur is very fast and has good missile and melee buffs. The Samurai is slower but a better melee fighter and has the ability to freeze / stun enemies) Demon's Rise 1 has more claustrophobic corridors and bottlenecks so having too many fighters can be detrimental as they won't be in base contact to fight. Having a slightly higher proportion of missile units or characters that can switch from missile to melee is helpful.
Hi devs ! I noticed the first DR just got updated, the update is now requiring iOS 8.0 only and not 9.1 anymore ! Can I know if DR2 will be getting the same treatment ? That would be AWESOME ! I havent been able to play much of 1 since my ipad is not what I can spend the most time on, now ill be able to pick it up more ! If 2 can get on the same page ill be able to play it alot when i get to it
Thank you from the bottom of my heart ! One promise I can make : My best friend is buying both as soon as such an update hits, he refuses to upgrade his ipad mini 2 and his iphone 5s to higher than iOS 8.4 because hes affraid of technical issues hahaha, now he will have no excuse to skip these # And now im going to work with DR1 loaded on my 6s plus and not just on the family ipad at home, feels great !
Hey everyone. I bought this last night, but couldn't get past the tutorial due to the awkward pinch and zoom controls. I tried many times to zoom and/or rotate and it became very difficult to manage. Any tips on how to better handle this?
In the options menu, you can reduce the pinch / zoom speed and sensitivity. You can also use the zoom buttons on the bottom left of the screen instead of pinching with 2 fingers.
Yep the camera controls are still not as user friendly as they are in other games I have played though they are far better than what we had originally thanks to a lot of patching. Have you tried using the on screen camera controls rather than finger placement for all camera positions? They tend to make the problem with zooming and rotation way better. However the angle option is still controlled by finger placement and it is at best.....serviceable. I have my settings at slow and I am only just recently getting somewhat used to it.
Yeah, I'm thinking probably best. Although I may do an expansion for DR2 later in the year, the best thing would be to focus on getting Strike Team and Temple of Shadows finished and released.
Honestly, I'm waiting for Strike, love the environment, however looking at purchasing your bundle, both games look sick! Just need to purge some games off my idevices first lol.
Hmm, this game looks awesome. However, I wonder if I should play Demon's Rise 1 first in order to enjoy this game... should I do it?
I've only got DR2 and I'm loving it. I'll likely pick the first up some time after I finish this one.
@WaveLightGames one suggestion/request I have is to drop the dialog fade in/out animations. I'm usually playing on the go or for a short burst and I find it frustrating to wait the extra few seconds while a menu fades in/out. Very minor thing, doesn't detract from the 5 star experience!
Sure ... can you tell me which menu exactly? Or is it just all the fade / fade out windes during a battle scene?
For me it is all the fade out screens. I was never a fan of them. It just makes the game seem sluggish. Instant response to a tap is what we expect these days, especially with high end devices.
Cool ... I'll reduce the fade in time. I think the only one where a delay is needed is the intro level / start story button. If I recall, the game needs some time to load the initial characters and if players start playing right away, they will cause some issues. That actually may not be true any more so I may retest that and see if I can make that delay smaller too. I don't really like menus instantly popping up though so I will leave a very short fade in / fade out.
By the way, gents and/or ladies ... could you please take the time to update your reviews on the App Store? Many thanks. Also, tips on how I can improve the tutorial? The current tutorial is pretty awful and I got an angry review about it so it would be good to improve it. But as I come from the older PC generation where tutorials weren't really a thing, I'm not sure how best to implement one. Let me know your thoughts. Android versions of both DR1 and DR2 are looking to be in good shape. I have DR1 running on my Samsung S6, LG G4 and Huwawei Mate. Hopefully will be releasing both games on Google Play and Amazon this month.
