re: to hits chances reversed? Don't underestimate even 2 lines of code. Can you run a simulation with, say, a million rolls and plot the results against a statistical normal distribution? If they match (more or less), your code is good. If not, well... The reason I say this is that I once witnessed firsthand how a player found some errors in a MUD's RNG. He noticed something, and recorded a few thousand dicerolls and plotted them. Turned out odd, and the devs at first thought their code is ok. And it was - almost. If I remember it right, it was a tiny mistake in their code. But I cannot recall if the RNG they used also had a problem. Might be worth checking that one, too (I assume you didn't write your own from scratch).
I just beat DR 1! The last level for DR 1 was tough! I only had the Ogre and pyromancer stay alive. That's what I like about these games you can go almost any combo and still beat this game. I beat both games this week loooking forward to the new demon rise game. Both are great games Ogre Half giant Pyromancer Void dragon Knight Cannon
That's awesome! The walking canon would also allow players to use the gun powder in the shop. The void dragon just fits the theme of this game!
That's a good point ... I hadn't considered that. Well done on completing DR1's last level. I actually haven't done that myself yet. I kept getting killed by the big bone dragon. Question to you guys, is anyone finding that there is a problem with sound? i've heard from two separate customers that there is no music or sound effects on the iPad Pro and iPad 3. I don't have this issue on my iPad Air. Is anyone else running into this?
What type of iPad are you using? I have a suspicion it might on certain iPad models and not others for some reason.
I gave it some more thought and I think I'm going to keep the "bonus" characters for completing the game down to just the Void Dragon, Walking Cannon and Campaign 30 big monster. For the Snakeman and Toadman, I'm going to actually make these proper characters available normally. I'm going to make new variants of these since the base characters are too strong for a starting lineup. - Snakeman Rogue will be a rogue / assassin character class with venom spitting, poison abilities and stealth abilities. - Toadman will be a slower fighter / tank that can use his tongue to lash out at enemies at a slight range, exude poison from his skin and possibly use his flail to disarm enemies. Any feedback on character design before I get started on them?
The Walking Cannon - while pretty cool - feels a bit odd among the two big bad monsters (still need to get through to see the stage 30 one ). Do you have any other "boss" from DR1 or 2 that you could add instead? I remember that huge Demon in DR1... Toadman sounds fun. the tongue should be able to ground fliers or something like that, like those frogs swatting flies out of the air Snakeman: Care to turn him into a woman and a Paladin (or similar)? Inspired by this https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Quest:Lamia_Daughter_Quest , in particular this picture (which I think looks fantastic) : https://1d4chan.org/wiki/File:Ssen-2.jpg . Or wait ... I just found this: https://heroineimages.wordpress.com/2014/10/04/sartorially-smart-villainess-lamia-matriarch-by-ekaterina-burmak/ Perfect Dark Paladin / Death Knight for an evil party.
Could do ... I'll leave it to a vote or something. So speak up on what you guys want. Yeah, one of his abilities will be to smack people with his tongue and slow them down. No ... I'll keep him as a male snakeman. Though it's kind of hard to tell whether a reptile is really male or female. There will actually be half snake / half women in Tempe of Shadows. They'll actually be the main bad enemies. Pretty much identical to the images you're showing.
While I love the Walking Cannon, I agree in that he does feel out of place. My vote goes to the "something else".
Cool ... I'm leaning towards big guys. Perhaps the skeleton dragon from DR1 or the Demon Lord from DR1?
We have a Dragon as special char already, so my vote goes to the DR1 Demon Lord. Hhmm... wasn't there some quite powerful Lich or Necromancer in DR1 too? My memory is quite hazy on that, been a while.
Another option is we could have Morkarn be a playable character. So it would be a boss roster: - C-30 big boss - Undead Reaper from DR1 - Morkarn (?) The big guys are obviously way more powerful than the typical starting character but they only have one or two abilities each. They'll still be waaaaay overpowered. Here's the Snakeman Rogue. His abilities are done, just need to be tweaked and tested: Snakeman WIP by Rajpreet Dhillon, on Flickr He uses throwing knives so those items will now be usable. He has the following abilities: - Venemous Bit: He bites an adjacent enemy and injects with venom. For 2 turns, the target suffers life damage and reduces critical immunity. - Camouflage: Snakeman attempts to hide / blend into the shadows. Self buff that gives a boost to dodge chance and critical chance for 1 turn. 10% chance of failure (effectively being spotted / detected). - Spinning Strike: A melee attack that attacks all adjacent enemies. - Venom Spray: A cone shaped missile attack that sprays acidic venom in enemy's eyes. For 2 turns, does life damage and lowers targets' hit chance and dodge chance. - Heightened Senses: A buff that affects all friendly units within 3 tiles. Gives the snakeman and allies a bonus to dodge chance, critical chance and extra counter attacks. - Venomous Potion: The snakeman drinks or gives a potion made from his venom to an ally. It does a random amount of damage to the drinker but gives them a big boost to attacks and attack damage. 1 use only per battle. What do you guys think?
That's a cool option! I only suggested the canon because of the gun powder but the undead reaper sounds cool.
Boss characters I like the idea of a few good overpowered chars with one or two skills. More variety and options for team building. I'm low level, but mostly use first skill. Especially werebear.
