Since I had no time to play I havent bought yet, and now you make that bundle ! I missed the sale but not this, thanks WaveLight !!! BTW, in the app description youve wrote "Tough Arcade" instead of "Touch Arcade", you might want to fix it # I know our community is tough but hey, it isnt the name ! # Thanks for allowing me to grab both Demon's rise at a discounted rate this morning, very happy guy here #
You pay 2000 gold and then choose one of your characters to swap out for a new class. The new character gets all the XP, items and stat boosts from experience that the previous character had. Therefore, the new character should be at the same level of power as the old. Since the new class probably can't use the old character's weapons, the weapons are moved automatically to an empty slot in the character's backpack.
Made a quick enhancement this morning to the GUI items. Now the ability buttons, end turn button, camera control dial, character portrait, and some of the other buttons now move in and out of the screen when End Turn is pressed. So now rather than those items suddenly disappearing during the enemy turn and reappearing in the player turn, they glide in and out of the screen view. Looks much nicer and something I'd been meaning to do for ages.
But honestly, starting over is a lot more fun in my opinion. I think if you have a high level team and you just switch out to another character class, you end up with all of the abilities already unlocked and big stats right off the bat. I think it's better to try a new class and gradually build them up to figure out the best strategies and play style for that class. Just my opinion, of course, everyone's free to play the game how they want.
So at higher levels they get new abilities? I thought it was just the more AP's they have those abilities show up LOL sigh...
That's what it is, but if you swap them out they're going to be leveled up and have equipment that a new character wouldn't. That means they would already be able to use skills that require more AP since their pool is greater than a new toon.
I agree I liked trying all new 6 character to see how they all worked together and not using the same characters
Wave can you make an evil sorcerer type character who can use all the elements like fire, lightning, earth based, ice
I agree, variety is the spice of life! I too will be trying 6 new characters, and then a final play through with 2 blood shamans, 2 huntress and 2 void callers
There's kind of a character like that in Demon's Rise 1 ... the High Mage. Not sure if he has all the elements ... possibly not actually. I originally wanted to go that direction with him but then he ended being kind of a generic mage instead. I'm not sure I'll add any more characters to this game after the Cataphract arrives. 15 is a decent number and I'd like to transition new content to the next Demon's Rise game, Temple of Shadows. I do like the idea of an elemental mage and I wonder if elves might be a good fit for it. Thanks for the idea, I'll mull over it.
Maybe a fallen elf who uses the dark forces of the elements. The high Mage was great but felt generic. I'm talking maybe something specific with a darker theme. Either way thanks for taking the suggestion
I'm hoping for 18 characters but 15 will do lol. I went crazy on demon rise 1 trying different variations
Just some quick updates. UI improvements for more moving panels instead of items that pop in / out instantly are done. Much nicer in my opinion. I also improved the blood effects in two ways: 1 - All characters that currently bleed now have more types of blood effects created when they're killed. So basically more variety in the blood impact effect. Sometimes, you'll get the normal red mist of blood and sometimes it'll be a bigger effect with bits and pieces of gore flying everywhere. Not too over the top, though but some added variety. 2 - The new blood stains now stay longer (60 seconds) and fade in and stay dark for a longer time before eventually fading out. They're also more random in size / shape. I'm liking this version of the new blood stains and I'm glad I made the change. These improvements will be in the 1.2 patch.
Yeah, Demon's Rise 1 has way too many characters. I honestly could have left it at 15 and used the remaining 15 characters in a completely separate game. I have no idea why I went with so many.
Agreed. The gold for swapping isn't an issue at higher levels but you lose the fun of struggling through the ranks with new characters. I'm going to be starting over with a new group and trying the game without as much farming since that made a ton of levels too easy.
Yeah, that's a good idea. I would continue in the campaigns until you struggle and then farm the patrols until you gain a level and then continue in the campaign. A lot of the campaign levels are really enjoyable because they're really hard / challenging.
