Haha I never thought that I could win level 10 with everyone dead but the flame demon summoned by my demon knight on round 14. Intense!
Today I might actually beat the campaign in normal I'm on level 28. Demon knight Werebear Blood shaman Void walker Black orc Corsair This team has been solid for me. Who do you guys use?
Still using: Werebear, Corsair, Blood Shaman, Volcrate, Shamaness, Huntress. At first I had the Shadow Ghoul in, but couldn't warm up to him. So I replaced him with the Volcrate. With all the open space, I'm starting to think more melee and less ranged could be more effective. Everyone seems to love the Demonknight, maybe I'll replace the Shamaness with him. No way to delete Saves curently. @Wavelight: That, and renaming the Saves, would be a great addition somewhere down the road. As for healing: No dedicated Healer/Cleric class. The Huntress has a really good groupheal, the Bloodshaman a single-target Heal, and I think there's at least one other. On top of that, some units like the Werebear have self-heal skills. So far (only at Stage 10) it seems that you can get away with less healing power than in DR1.
You can just overwrite an existing save game with a new one when you create a new party. There isn't a dedicated healing class but there are several characters that can heal themselves and others. The Huntress has a heal other ability (all adjacent units), the Blood Shaman has a targeted heal where can heal a single unit within 7 tile radius, the Shadow Ghoul, Werebear and Volcrate have self heals. The upcoming Blade Dancer has a heal all units within 3 tile radius ability and the Vampire Knighft has a self heal when she bites enemies.
Yeah, I'll probably slap it in the options. Not sure which one should be default, I suppose the double tap version. Will see how it goes.
That's really odd because I have code that tracks which favours have been activated and then on a mid-battle load re-applies them. Are you sure that none of the stat bonuses from the favours had been applied? The favours should also have been marked as used in the divine favour window. I'll check this today and see if I broke something here with this functionality since it was last tested. Ah ... that's interesting. I had never thought of using a mind control / charm spell to revert a player character that had been charmed back to the player's team. I think it should have worked but I guess it doesn't. I'll have to look into the code and see why. Well done in coming up with a strategy that had never even occurred to me.
Tonight I should take down the game in hard with: Werebear Blood Shaman Void Walker Shamaness Huntress Volcrate I'm already looking forward to my next play through! I will definitely use the corsair and demon knight next time if only for the volume of guns, gun powder and sword and board loot I found.
Hey a quick update. I got this bug fixed in my version. So now abilities of allies and mind controlled units work properly. It was a quick one-line of code fix.
Cool ... well done! Maybe try out the Feral Ogre as your tank and Tentaclid as your offensive mage. Will be interesting for me to get feedback on those characters. Anyone tried the new characters yet?
The greatest combo I've found is using void walker's demonic form on a demon knight with blood lust (The one that increases no. of attacks) and the blood shaman's seal that heals and boosts damage. I don't like Blood Shaman that much because he's weak offensively.
Yea I kind of agree about more melee than ranged man. When stuff hits the fan and you get closed in on you need melee classes to absorb some hits and dish it in close quarters. If some of your ranged guys die too quickly you are in for a long fight.
My blood shaman is actually a high damage dealer with high movement and lots of attacks. I'm hesitant to throw him into a group like the werebear, because of the hp difference, but I still depend on him a lot.
That is an insane combination. I did the demonic position combined with blood lust but never thought to add the seal / ritual bones to keep the demon knight alive. Well done. I'm really looking forward to you guys playing with the Cataphract, Vampire Knight and Blade Dancers. They are all melee fighters primarily that have a lot of buffs and more complex abilities. Will be great to see how they interplay and what combinations everyone comes up with.
Agreed. My shaman has 8 attacks unbuffed and 15 movement with 100% crit and 100% dodge plus damage reduction. I honestly feel I could could Trio the game with just him the huntress and void caller.
Hi all thanks for getting back to me looking forward to trying the different characters as well. Quick question how does the swap character work??? Does the new character start at level 1 and so I still get to keep the inventory. I want to try the huntress
He's is weak at first given the right equipment he's actually really good. He does decent damage for me but I like him as a healer. Plus his final spell is sick
My huntress has high damage and crit as well. She's a work in progress, but she's got good range and damage. She suffers from amount of attacks though.
