    Through the rain.
How's the story? It definitely looks intriguing, and I think a good story would sell it for me. :)

i did not say that you designed this game around iap or if this game is unplayable without iap. i only said that in my opinion the prices for new heroes are too high and you can not compare it with the first game where you grinded not for content but something else actually.

Never did compare it with the first game.

And yes, the fact that you "post impressions" is very clear form the fact that you, well, posted them :) We do the same. And ours differ greatly from yours. Is your point that we should NOT post our sentiments if they run counter to yours?

You said "there is no such feature" after seeing that it does not work on your device. Not that I ever used the expressions "generalization", but that is the very definition ;)

And if your purpose was to make the devs fix fast app switching, you SHOULD care that it works on my device. Such information can make the process of tracking down the cause for the lack of fast app switching on your device simpler and quicker, and benefits you in the end.

And yes, I did notice other posters also reported that fast app switching did not work. Hence "But I absolutely agree that it does not seem to work well for some or many, in particular on older devices, and therefore needs work :)". You'd probably spare yourself some aggravation and ire if you finish reading posts before replying to them ;)

(I'm assuming you did not read the whole post, because the other assumption is more insulting. It would mean that you DID read the statement I just quoted, and still told me to read the topic to see that others have reported the same as you, when I just acknowledged that I already have :) )

the whole phrase is "so i would say there is no such feature", it is like well it does not work so it is not there, kind of thing. i read whole post but just again it's more about that other people thought that there is no such feature too and not about that it's just a bug or something like that.

I couldn't agree more. Spot-on analysis. Fun game, but it's like that kid you were great friends with in HS. Back in the day, he was fantastic. Then you see him again a bunch of years later...and he's no longer fantastic, because he's just like he was.

So why are the rewards selling for 0 or 1 token in the store. Is that a bug?

You ever buy something from a street vendor? One of those people with a bunch of trinkets and toiletries laid out on a carpet on the sidewalk?

The first thing you buy from them, you're the one approaching them. But then they know you have money, and they have your interest, so they try to push a bunch of other stuff on you. Yeah, you don't need it. But it's still irritating to get nickel and dimed, with no end.

Plus, there's a reduced sense of ownership. You pay in whole for something, when you get it home, it's yours. Nobody is going to come knocking on your door telling you that for a more complete experience, you should really buy some of these accessories. Even if you ignore him, there's that feeling that remains: that you didn't buy the whole thing, just the introductory set. Just the minimum. Gone is the warm fuzzy feeling of total ownership. Now it's tainted.

That's why many of us chafe against IAP on a paid game.

Wow great game! Never played the first one and at first this one felt a little underwhelming -> BUT I kept on playing and it’s turning into a fantastic game. I can see that the developers have put a lot of thought into the game play.

The IAP is not required and doesn’t deserve the heated attention. Just don’t use it if you don’t want to!

Animation isn’t great but you get over it once the game play kicks in. Looks and plays fine on my iPad2 and iPhone4. I prefer to play on my iPad2 :)

Some things are a little hard to understand. Like: do you play through the entire story one hero at a time or should you be switching between them. Is the story to be played through over and over? What is a secret?

Finally, I would like to say thank you to the devs. Not many devs take the time to address user questions/criticisms and you guys are very active in these forums. I’m looking forward to the updates and hope to play this game for a long time :)

Oh cool. Thanks for the info. :)

About the fast app switching, it does work for me. But the game does take up a chunk of ram (or whatever). It could switch with notes, just opened, and safari when just opened. If you start doing stuff, then it can't. If another game app is opened, the game would always need to load from intro screen.

Crap my Melwyn is level 29 through some sort of bug (6 maps cleared, maybe 10-12 maps done). Maybe it happened when I got the 3 free items (see above). Is there any way to reset her? Dont want to cheat.

I am thinking of deleting and reinstalling.

I believe I saw you write "WTFBBQ", I'm not quite sure of the... well, but one of the unique items in the game is the General's BBQ. An initial release bonus item. Which will be gone after update 1.1 comes out (only to be replaced by PRADA). You can see all the unique items in the game and in which shop to find them (if you don't get them as loot) in the Game Manual, which you'll find under Extras in the Main Menu. - We have a thread in the forums (The Hunt for the Uniques!)

Depending on your playstyle, and on what level difficulty you play with a lower level character, your bump varies. E.I. play with a level 80 Melwen on a Novice map will get you very little in terms of experience. Play on Master with a low level Melwen will get you several level bumps.

Must be little to no story then. I remember back when people would help one another. Ahh the good ol' days.

No, I didnt get the BBQ, I just experienced a bug where after playing 10 or so maps, mostly novice, I somehow got to level 29. I also got several 3 items and 200+ free tokens. Perhaps something to do with exiting the app mid map. Found items are also selling back to the shop for 0 or 1, which I'm guessing is not normal.

I will just delete and reinstall.

ArtNJ, don't delete. I don't think it's a bug. You can get to level 29 quickly at the beginning. Items found from spoil of war have selling price of 6.25%. Regular items that you buy from shop will have selling price of 75%.

Sometime if you find a cheap spoil of war item, it can sell for 0 or 1 token. But you can also find a really expensive spoil of war item, as much as 70 times the tokens that you get for that level.

I think, or hope, it's because there is quite a bit of it, depending on which hero, and then needing to complete the game to figure out how it all connects, so far. In the Game Manual in-game there's a fair bit of back story to each hero, and how they came to be where they are, when the story begins. The worldmap has a little story to each map, store and stronghold. And off course the story itself is told by pre-map voice actor, and then by comics after the victory. Hopefully it'll be enough for you to engross yourself a bit in. And the story will off course further unfold in the coming free updates.

This will work only on lower ranked infantry. Does it work on your Peasant, Militias, Warriors or Squires? (when they hit enemies, those enemies should get the green poison skull icon above their heads)

It has a sufficient story and excellent voice over but I won't recommend the game just for the story ;)

    Edit:
Like Plast2 said, everything has its background story. So the lore in DC world is quite established. But if you are expecting a novel quality writing, it's not exactly the strong point of the game.

I'll discuss this with the rest of the team. If there is price adjustment, everyone who already buy will get the token difference back.

I ill like to give you the attention you crave, but how can I resist a so desperate a call? ;)

No, but my incredibly entertaining witty banter aside, there is quite a lot of story, for the genre. I'll leave the quality of the storytelling up to you to judge for yourself, but there is a backstory and an overarching narrative that, while perhaps a little loosely tied together, does give a sense of setting, character and urgency, and there are both pre-battle voice overs (splendidly voiced, at that!) that give context to each level and well-drawn post-battle comics that further advance the storyline. And, like Gimka points out, the setting is already established thanks to the prequel, and there is therefore actually quite a few details and historic elements.

Without commenting on the actual quality of the writing and the drama, I must say that I am surprised at the focus and efforts put into presenting the narrative, considering the genre and the nature of the gameplay. Gimka and Menara could probably have gotten well away with no voice overs, just text before each level, and no comics after victory, just some quick strings of explanation.

(Though I will comment on the quality of writing: I've yet to play long enough to actually determine if the story has any finer dramaturgic qualities, if it is gripping, pleasantly surprising or immersive (and considering the very derivative qualities of the high fantasy setting, I will not have my hopes up. Though I recall becoming just a little bit immersed in the drama in the first game, thanks to the slightly less generic idea of an alliance between races that normally play well together...), but the writing stands up to a generally high quality, in terms of syntax, register, tone, diction, etc.)
