Haha! I wasn't even thinking about specific spells when I answered. I just started using them. But, yeah, they're pretty powerful. This is a bit of a "D'oh" question: Does mana regenerate while you're playing? I've been focusing so much on perfect unit placement that I never really payed any attention. And, I'm not currently playing it to find out.
Yes and no. Just click Melwin's portrait in the Hero screen to see her mana regen rate (0.037 per sec I think). I'm playing it and I found her mana regen rate to of no benefit .
if you play with melwen u need to put points in sorcery for sure, because well she is the strongest unit and when you beat all heroic maps you will get access to really nice gear making her much more powerful than simple mages. and you can also beat high difficulty levels without using spells at all and anyway it's better to buy gold with mana you have.
Thanks, I forgot all about clicking the portrait. I guess that's a bit unfortunate, but I guess it would be a bit too easy if mana regenerated fast enough to use something like inferno multiple times. Yeah, this pretty much how I'm playing. I like the spells and they're strong, but I tend to forget to use active stuff. I usually always put points into passive traits when I play games.
I am very sorry if my small spoiler to you was misunderstood as "this is the only way it works". - Or that "this is the only item that works". - It's not, it was just a helping suggestion, since it seemed you would like one. Sorry for the confusion.
@fivejane & @ArtNJ : I will take another look at the Bestiary. - Maybe find another way to explain in which faction and what Rank they have - compared to other units. We will however not explain how exactly to kill them, that's all on you guys - Information other than these pointers will become available in the Academy as you unlock them. I hope you will find that the information there extensive enough.
I agree, The complaint has been read, and we understand the concerns given. I hope we can all keep this thread focused on the game. If you have frustrations, please focus them on the game, and us. - Not each other - We will address everything as best we can, and all concerns and complaints are being logged and discussed. All pictures in the Academy are exactly the same images as those on the sprites in the game. - Slightly smaller than original size. The sprites are exact scaled down versions again.
Actually it is the boss version of the "Rock Golem" and has a name "Crystal Golem" that suggests it is just a hardened version of the rock.99+% of the crystals in the universe are not crystallized water. Nitpick, but you brought it up. I still contend that the flaw is that every other enemy can be damaged by normal units with normal attacks, but at an early stage of the game the player faces an aberration - an enemy that requires a specific spell - with no warning or explanation. That this does not occur anywhere else in the game is entirely confusing and breaks up the flow of the game. Is this a game about resource management and tower placement, or about guessing what element enemies are weak to?
Sorry to bore you. Especially since you were forced to read and have no possible way to not read my comments. Internet much?
Thanks for your replies. I actually like this game quite a lot and have put in a lot of playtime. I just think it's flow-breaking that there is exactly one enemy, midway through the first playthrough, that is apparently invincible. If the tutorials introduced you to this mechanic ("Hi Player, some enemies only take damage under certain circumstances, and you'll have to figure out how to kill them through trial and error rather than reasoning, strategy or skill") and if the mechanic were consistent throughout the game, it would be totally fine and this would be a game about guess-and-check instead of a game about strategy. On another note, is it concerning to you that it is far easier to devise a strategy (and have sufficient stats/gear) to clear the final level on Heroic than to do so on several of the earlier levels? The last level was the second one I was able to clear on Heroic. I can clear it without building, upgrading, or casting spells after wave 85 (out of ~115 waves).
You keep saying this, but it's been pointed out to you more than once that the suggestion to use the fire wand was just one easy way to beat the enemy, not the only possible way to defeat it.
lizards can do some fire damage and their description says it prevents units from healing, but it does not work in that way will all elite units so is this a bug or something else? and actually manual can be much better, it's hard to identify some units because sprites are too small for example.
the spells are strong but the problem is amount of mana and also the regeneration, and maps are quite large so you would probably need a lot of mana for them.
What is the use of archmage? She cost 120 and can't be upgraded while mages can be upgraded instead to blue Mage which can be upgraded and is much more powerfull.. And what is that champion ability?
actually upgrading to the archmage is not that useful if you use lighting wands and play at higher difficulty levels, because then it's just weaker copy of melwen i would say. and more important the wizards are better on most of the maps.
As I thought . Archmage is not that awesome compared to blue wizard... What about champion ability ? I can't understand it....
I use the Archmage over the Wizard because: the Archmage has a bigger radius, and her lighting chains multiple enemies. Her Blizzard ability is also really useful. (I don't believe the wizard has a special power) (I can't equip powers to Melwen because I use the Book of Hero and Golden Owl, which take up those two slots.)
