You need to do enough damage to overcome their massive armor. As someone else suggested, heavily upgraded wizards (wizards being the upgraded version of mages) are your best bet. If you check in the Academy, you can see the stats on each unit's attack/armor/health/etc. There's an alternative if you're using the General: there's a unique weapon that does craploads of damage vs. golems.
Nope. Still the same. Due to that issue I am using free private proxy sites to view your forum. I am from Russia. Maybe my IP isn't "supported"? And one more: I've registered new account on your forum again (during DC1 years I had an old account there). And I still didn't recieve activation code/link. I've requested it several times but still nothing. Seems there are problems with those proxies. Could you somehow forcefully send me an activation link/code to my e-mail, please?
Thanks for the replies. I was finally able to damage them with level 1 wizards and some better gear. The Crystal Golem I could damage but only with level 3 wizards. It's a little bit lame that the game gives me no way to know this. The monster stats don't show up in the Academy until after you damage one, and the weakness doesn't show up until after you kill one.

MisterDrgn, v1.1 will indeed reduce your reputation because there is a new map. So, please be ready for that. We are considering on placing the upcoming future maps on a separate area. Heroes can have different reputation for different area. That way, the new maps will not affect the reputation or shop access for the 1st area. But this wonÂ’t be in until at least v1.2. ArtNJ, the red bird is Vampire. Koyut, weÂ’ll revise the Academy UI later. AdviZzzor, I activated your account! Sorry for the inconvenience and welcome to the forums! If there is anyone else having problem registering on DC forums, you can pm me. Fivejane, the Academy will shows the monster after you completed the map, regardless if you kill it or not. For bosses, it may require you to get 5 stars for that map. Thanks everyone for playing!
Thanks Gimka! Now I can log in. But it would be so great if you could fix that issue. I still can use forum only with proxy. P.S. DC2 is the most awesome game since years! Looking forward to seeing new updates! And thanks for your help!
Just a question, should I put points into Melwin's Bowman command skill since she relies on them to kill some enemies (bats/vampires) on higher levels? Or is there a better counter (read: replacement) to using archers?
Not me. I've never, not once, complained about IAP. But I've never felt this way about it. And I've played a LOT of games with IAP in them. I've stated my case, and will not pollute this thread with my opinion any more. But I have never complained about IAP in a game until now.
You should be able to momentun-scroll the bottom lineup of unit portraits. Also, the bio sheet for a unit should show a life-size image of the unit. Strange that it doesn't, imo. And while we're talking UI missteps...why is it that when a banner is selected, prior to building a guild on it, there's nothing to indicate it's selected?! Isn't that an oversight...?
Great new twist Vertical tower defense is excellent! I missed the first one and I am enjoying this game, playing mostly on the iPad, they game looks great on the big screen. Not sure if I like the micro transaction, but an amazing adventure and worth the $2.99.

Seriously? Why isn't just playing the game first an incentive? I would think the people who buy the game right away are already those who like it most. You would think you would want to sell it to the people who are on the fence, not rub their nose in the fact that they get less. It's not a big deal, it just seems rude.
With each of the ten major updates planned (new maps, enemy types an so on) there will be a "special item of unknown origin". - It's just a fun feature that might be for one hero, or another - or all. An item to strive for, making you want to play to get it, before the next "special item of unknown origin" arrives and the previous one leaves the shop shelves. If you're playing your heroes right, in the end you might have garnered them all. Take it as a bit of fun we've thrown in with all the rest. - Hence the... umm... names of the items - One thing about them, they'll all make you smile
It completely depends on your playstyle. There is no set way of doing it. Myself, I like to put almost all into sorcery until it's maxed out, because I really like Melwen having some umpf against... well, anything. Then I'll go for the troops I feel I rely on most in my setups on the maps. - Say I use Lizardmen alot. - Well then Bowmen Commander would be a good choice. But If I use alot of mages, then Mage Commander. - It simply depends on the strategies you've found works best for you on any given maps. We all play different If you specifically ask about ranged allies, like Mages, Archers or Lizardmen. Then all three can do hefty damage against anything that moves through the air.
