Why are they so silent? Too bad - i would have loved to play this one, it seems a lot of work has flown into this game. why are they leaving it alone so early?

Yay, the game got an update:

    - Gems have been replaced with Keys
    - Keys have a chance to drop when defeating Bad-Bits
    - Keys are now rewarded when you earn 1 - 3 stars
    - Characters are now easier to unlock with reduced costs
    - Balancing to levels
    - Reduction of the amount of Bad-Bits to speed up level completion
    - Ability's have been replaced
    - Easier Quests
    - Minor Bug fixes

I played the third easy level and got 12 keys that dropped like the coins. After beating the level i got 2 stars and got another 25 keys. It seems they got rid of the abilities also completely (so they are not replaced, but removed).

The game is much more enjoyable for me now. You still can buy keys, but they seem to drop far more frequently now, so that isn't much of a deal anymore i think.

    Great update!

    Hey PlaySide!

I just bought the game but it won't install on the iOS 11 beta despite saying it supports "iOS 6.0 or later" :(

EDIT: Okay, I can download via my iPhone but installing the game via iTunes doesn't work. Just an FYI.

    Yes! They listened to us!
The game is way more fun to play now, and upgrades come at a more manageable pace. I've been hoping they would do this and they came through.
Way to go devs! You've got my support.

Still early into playing this update, but further then I got in the earlier version. I am really enjoying myself now (no frustration) and the progression seems right. Seems like a fantastic update and thanks to the developers for listening to us!

    What are the trinkets for?

So as I play I am collecting these trinkets. Keys are used for upgrades, what is the point of trinkets? Is this game only half done or something?

Some towers need those trinkets for the last upgrade (i.e. you need 200 cogs for the last upgrade of Pult or 500 'hot dogs' for the last upgrade of Wayno)

Finally 3 starred all the levels of this excellent TD game! I really enjoyed it.

The update certainly helped the game A LOT but its still a very hard game. Below is a simple guide to earn three stars.

    - You will mostly cover your entire map evenly with Archer, Viking and Polar towers. Don't upgrade any of the towers and don't think its a waste of resources to put towers at the end of the maze, it's not. Evenly distribute these three towers. Add Polar towers by the 10th round or so.
    - Sprinkle 1-or-2 or two Soldier towers in good spots. Don't upgrade them.
    - Sprinkle 2-to-5 Tennis towers on the edges of the maze. These come in handy. Eventually upgrade these towers at least once.
    - Ignore the Frumpy and Flame tower.
    - After round 16 or so start using Ninja towers instead of Archer towers.
    - Once you have completely covered your maze with towers, start replacing the Archer towers with Ninja towers, the Viking with Ogre (or Samurai or Piggy), the Polar with Ice and the Soldier with Pult. Now you can start strategically upgrading these "replacement" towers.

This game is still too hard. I really feel like there's only a few solutions for winning three stars on each map. The enemies also seem to appear in the same groupings no matter what stage you are on. The only thing that changes is the appearance of the special boss enemies.

It's a very charming and cute game but the original version was clearly trying to get you make in-app purchases. The update is much better but is still too hard, repetitive and unforgiving.
