Just wanted to report that I have the same "Location Missions" bug as others (ios6.1.3, iphone 4s). It's been so bad that I've held off diving with the best boost just so when I finally do maybe I'll have a chance to survive long enough to find three locations and get that mission gone. Overall for a freemium grinder, this is a fairly decent game. Love the art and gameplay. My main negative would be feeling like I don't have much purpose in doing this once an area has been explored so many times since there's nothing new but to grind because going too deep and I'll ruin the possibilities of finishing that one mission.
I wanted to chime in on these 2 items as well. I've added some pictures below. I can understand not wanting to make the leader boards pay to win, so i completely understand not allowing the coin doubler to count towards coins earned. But it looks to me as though the leader boards have already been infiltrated by hackers, so at this point it seems moot. Please see image #1 below that shows the "Deepest Dives" leader board, the top 4 scores are between 99,999m to an impressive 999,999,999m. I hope that at some point you are able to scrub the ill gotten scores from the boards. Secondly, I too am having syncing issues with Game Center, mainly my achievements. As you can see in image #2 when I am offline the in game achievements perfectly match my actual achievements. I currently have 25 out of 35 (By the way, what is the 0/370 below the achievement count?) But in image #3 when I go online and connect to Game Center it says that I only have 7 of 35 achievements, and as you can see it has skipped many of the rank achievements. I some how have the Major Manatee achievement without having received Corporal Crab, Sergeant Shrimp, or Captain Cod. So could you please add some sort of force resync button for the achievements in a future update? Finally, some one asked if anyone had found the hidden achievements yet, well I believe they are: Spoiler OUT OF YOUR DEPTH - "Reach a depth of 500m" SWIMMING WITH THE FISH - "Defeated by any creature 5 times" BIRD SPOTTING - "Explode a Seagull", although I have no idea how to do this one, I just found it in the game files. PACI-FISH-TIC - "Didn't attack any creatures during a dive. .
Yeah, I still need 1 more location for the discover 10 locations mission and 5 more locations for the discover 25 locations mission. Unfortunately due to the location bug, and the pufferfish bug, all 3 of my mission slots are clogged with missions I can't complete right now. So literally all I can do is grind for coins and hope that I eventually find my last fossil and terracotta statue (neither of which are found in chests) and also hope that there are still a few locations I haven't found yet.
Dang, so there are more locations based missions... I'm probably sunk on all of those too. Thankfully I have a few other missions that are doable... though one is the Science Spotter which so far I've only managed to find 1 of 5... but I feel that's more doable than the locations stuff.
The probe mission is very much doable. Probes aren't super common, but I have been able to get 35 of them in the course or 102 dives, so on average I see one every 3 or so dives.
Hi guys, the location mission stuff is a pretty high priority so we'll hopefully get that sorted soon. Sorry it's messed up a bit, we think it's to do with fixing a game breaking bug last minute which seems to have inadvertently had some weird side-effect. I'll try to keep you all posted on this. As for the leaderboards hackers, we have seen this and reported a few of the culprits. We 'thought' we'd put sensible limits in place to stop ridiculous scores so not entirely sure how some of those got there, it might be they're hacking Game Center itself in which case there's not much we can do We'll keep looking into this though as it's super unfair for those of you playing legitimately! We'll also look into the Game Center issue too. Again, this seems pretty odd as it's a pretty simple system and as a rule seems to be working fine for most people but I've let the coder know and if he finds anything amiss we'll sort it / let you know. Again, sorry for the issues here and there. We're working hard trying to fix as much as we can early this week so an update can be submitted and in your hands ASAP.
The game won't run for me. I start it up and I get the loading screen, and then after that it just goes blank and nothing happens. I tried installing and reinstalling it. Currently on iphone 5 with 7.1.1 os
Hi there, we've had some reports that the game misbehaves if you try to run it on a device that is pretty much full. If this is the case for you try freeing up some space and see if that helps. If you continue to have problems drop us an email at [email protected] and we'll see what else we can do to help.
Right. I can follow up a bit on all of this.... 1)Leaderboard hackers have been reported to Apple, they are the only ones with the power to remove these scores if deemed ridiculous. In fact just after launch the leaderboard was plagued with hacked scores and most of them seem to have been removed so someone somewhere at Apple must be doing something!? If some of these fake scores continue to stick about we'll see what we can do to limit the scoring but ideally we don't want to do this as it effectively caps the score you could get which theoretically some people could get after months of playing the game. 2)Game Center sync issues are not with the coder and your description and screenshots will hopefully help him work this out. Not sure how easy it will be to get everything to re-sync but with any luck he'll be able to sort a bunch of these issues out including the random score count on the achievement screen that should be linked to you game center points etc. 3)You've actually found an achievement Spoiler Bird Spotting that shouldn't be live and links to a feature that wasn't completed in time for release. Doh! It is a hidden achievement but we'll see if we can't sort that out in a future update.
Well in the interest of full disclosure, I have been poking through your files. I didn't actually find the achievement in game, so you probably don't need to worry about anyone actually getting it. I also saw a mission or 2 that are currently dummied out because their requirements can not currently be measured. Mainly I was combing the files trying to figure out how many locations were left that I hadn't found yet, and at what depth they appear. I was also curious at how many more location missions I would need to complete. Don't worry though, your secrets are safe. I won't spoil anything else. In fact if you would like I can edit my previous post to remove that information that isn't ready to be released, just let me know if you want it removed.
Thanks for the honesty. As long as you keep the other stuff you found in the file to yourself it's fine Actually could you PM what you used to examine the such files? Might be handy for us as a way of trying to get to the bottom of some bugs. We've already seen multiple hacked saves for download on the web which although a bit annoying doesn't bother us too much as people will only be spoiling things for themselves but going down that route.
Oddly enough my Mission bug cleared itself. I ended up destroying the core of two oil supplies and went by a temple I had seen before. Odd. But not complaining. Glad to finally have that behind me as it's been there taunting me.
Last lot, I promise. Thought some sprites that wouldn't require licence negotiation would be better and with Halloween coming up they might be ok as inspiration! Those new sprites look really cool, great work! I just finished the fossil set when I got the center one in a random block at about 450m while on my way down to mine for diamonds.
