Not trying to defend the over-reaction, just trying to clear things up. No reason for everyone to get all Us vs Teknikal. Not everyone follows TouchArcade or Cave newsposts, and the IAP weren't mentioned in the game info in the appstore description. It's definitely fair to assume not everyone knew they were coming. Anyway, before I mentioned a bit of a bleh feeling toward the IAP but that was before seeing their stats and finding out they drop anyways, jumped the gun a bit there. I think I already have better stuff than most of them so they're definitely not gamebreaking/allow people to buy their way in to the leaderboards - this was my only concern given that is where the replay value is. tl;dr: quit hatin'
It was just my smart ass way of saying that Apple would have no reason to give him a refund for buying the game. CAVE didn't do anything wrong.

IAP items don't drop. Items that are slightly more powerful, with the exact same effects drop. I've got most of them already. There's a list of all of the non-IAP items if you want to compare.

And what makes this letter funny is statement that he enjoys that game for two weeks and IAP doesn't ruin the game for him and he is not even bothered with IAP itself coz "the fundamental gameplay experience is completely unchanged" ... but he still wants his money back because Cave didn't announce there will be IAPs... I really don't see what he was trying to do with this letter

Thanks to the in-app continue purchase, I can finally beat the hard mode and get some awesome equipments (and unlock the true ending). Personally I think the key to survive in hard mode is the your attack value, since you would rather beat the enemies before they even have a chance to attack. I boosted the shot attack to 660, and all the bosses suddenly became so easy to deal with
I can't say for sure, but since the IAP weren't released yet when the achievement was made, then I'm just assuming that all of the IAP items are excluded form the "All Items" achievement. Anyone have the achievement? I'm still missing a bunch of items.
I've only got 66% percent collection, and yes, the IAP items ARE INCLUDED in the "all items" achievements, because I bought one and saw a change in the achievment progress bar. If you do not really care about that acievement, those IAP items are really not that useful at all, except for the X5 continues Here are two of my favorite hard mode grinding equipment sets, with either one I can beat the entire game with less than 4 continues (best record is 2 continues, I still need more practice). Like I said, all that matters is the attack, defense doesn't matter since in later stages one single bullet will kill you instantly anyway. Especially when you are dealing with the final boss dream eater in hard mode, you want to kill it as fast as possible. Some of its attack patterns are so ridiculously hard that you are bound to miss a couple of times, but if your attack is higher enough, you can beat it before it has a chance to use those attacks.
My equipments are very shitty. Which mode did you use to get those equipment sets? Normal or hard? Which stage?
yours is similiar to mine with the exception of the accessory, which i prefer crystal skull. do you see any significant drop rate increase by using burst seed? lately, i didnt see any significant increase.
