I'd be ok with this game if they hadn't of pulled a bait and switch there was no mention of IAP on the store when I bought it and I avoid those games like the plague as far as I'm concerned they are killing gaming, I have the only written review in the UK app store for the current version and it's 1 star I'm actually considering asking apple to refund me as well.

I actually think these bait and switch tactics are in breach of UK law (The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations Act of 2008).
Maybe I'm overreacting but it's an expensive game that made no mention and Cave games have up till now been free of this greedy IAP nonsense.

I have no problem with IAP used for expansion packs some real work went into but when these companys start trying to charge me £1.50 a time to change a single number in the device memory it really makes me angry.

Either way it's safe to say Cave won't get a single penny from me again.

lmao... good... won't have to see you on the leaderboards... =oP

And it was very well known that Cave was going to have IAPs in this game...

and it's not greed... it's giving us, the gamers, another way to support developers that we admire and respect, and get something in return. Think of IAPs like a DONATION that gets us something special in return... especially in a game like this, where you don't need to buy them to beat the game, enjoy the game, and you can get the items just by grinding in normal mode...

    Dear Apple,

A game that I bought and have been enjoying for the last two weeks has just added entirely optional additional purchases into the game that in no way affect or change the enjoyment I had playing the game originally. In fact, if I just choose to completely ignore the fact that there are a few additional items inside the in-game store, then the game is still the exact same awesome game that I bought in the first place.

But, because I am fundamentally against a company offering 100% optional products to their customers in addition to their original products, I feel that you should have to give me back the money that I made the decision to spend on said product even though I have been enjoying it for more than two weeks now and the fundamental gameplay experience is completely unchanged.

    Love,
    Teknikal

    Good luck with that.

Also the fact they have broken UK law.
I could try and get them removed from the Uk store altogether if they refuse me.

how? They let everyone know that Deathsmiles was going to have IAPs included like 2 months before it came out...

is it against UK law to let people know that your game will include IAPs, release it, then include IAPs?

Remember, in the 2012 elections be sure to know where each candidate stands on in-app purchase.

Wasn't on the information page I bought it from. They should have been upfront about it on the page it was sold on.

I'll probably just forget about it, in honesty I didn't think much about it as a game anyway and I don't dislike them enough to try and ruin their UK business in any case even though I think they were highly deceptive.

    lmao...

and with the scandals going on in the UK, I don't think they'll be too concerned about your desire for a $5 game refund...

It seems that general apathy, not in-app purchase, is the true evil at hand here.

well they weren't... if you followed Cave at all over the last couple months, you would have known that IAPs were going to be included... even in the thread, we've mentioned it MANY MANY MANY times... then they show up, and it's like everyone completely forgot about it, and started ranting and raving, thinking Cave is the worst dev company in the appstore...

you want to start a war... fight Glu and their $90 IAP for weapons...

I'm really glad you decided to back off. I had sudden flashes of the entire UK legal and financial system collapsing under the news of this scandal coming to light. You have true compassion.

@Teknikal if you played this game before IAPs went live you MUST know that equipment for purchase isn't better than these that drops from playing. I was kinda afraid there will be some super imba items to buy with pumped stats that could ruin the game and leaderbords but again.. Cave didn't disappoint!
Second to that... you always have ARCADE mode where IAPs don't make any difference at all.
Are they greedy??? I don't think so. Do they force you to buy something so you can fully enjoy game? No. If you want to support them OK, if you don't.. well.. just don't buy anything.. simple as that.

I have games bought on sales or at low cast full price and if I liked them I have payed some extra cash through IAPs just to support devs for future updates or new games.

There is no point to argue about prices coz there will always be whiners!
And after all.. what is 12 dollars for game you enjoy??!! I spend 10 dollars on cigarettes every day... and ... I bet @Teknikal is smoking too! ;P

    Same here.

So... the IAP items drop right? If they do, I'll buy the missing item to complete the set & support the devs :D
