After downloading the base 2GB (took about 4 minutes on my wifi) the game says it’s installing 12+GB. But, it’s been over 30 minutes, and my storage is showing nothing being downloaded. I deleted it and reinstalled. Same thing. Geez. Edit: I realized that I need to use the HUD to download. My pressing the “download” flashing button didn’t do anything. Now that I’ve downloaded the game (I have >60 GB left on my M2), the sound only works if connected to bluetooth headphones and not via the iPad Pro’s speakers. Weird. Also, my Steel Stratus doesn’t work, so I have to use the on-screen HUD. Does anyone know if the game works on an Xbox controller?
It's really fun to play stuttering games at 30 frames per second on the latest Apple hardware. It can now be assumed that in ten years the latest games will only be playable with just stuttering 30 frames per second on the latest hardware. Should you really get used to it? To end with something positive: I really like the music in this game.
Well… 1) I believe you’re on an iPad Pro, so I can’t speak to your performance there. On my iPhone 15 Pro, performance seems more consistent after the latest update. Haven’t gone too far yet, but it’s perfectly playable (and enjoyable) at this point. 2) There are always going to be games that push the boundaries of the platform. Genshin Impact has trouble maintaining a steady 60 FPS on my iPhone 14 Pro, but runs smoothly since I upgraded. If that’s a big issue for you, I would stay away from these “reach” games. 3) It’s good to keep in mind that these are crossplay releases, including free Mac versions. In other words, you may have the latest hardware, but not the most powerful hardware. The situation is akin to having a PC and a Steam Deck. From what I’ve read, there are many games that play “just okay” on the Steam Deck, but people appreciate having the portable option. Of course, that doesn’t help you if you don’t have a Mac. Frankly, I’m still amazed that this plays as well as it does on such a portable platform. But I get your frustration.
Apart from the microscopically small font (iPhone 15 Pro), what bothers me are the deathzones, which are far too large, when I play with the backbone controller, even though I have already selected the lowest level in the game's system settings. If I move the sticks a little, nothing happens, instead of the figure moving a little. I wonder if that's intentional. I also haven't been able to figure out how to activate photo mode with the backbone controller without having to touch the display.
I bought Gamesir G8 Galileo for my 15 proMax and it works flawlessly... It's just perfect. I can enjoy this game much more!!
I can't make a backup of my iphone at the moment because the Death Stranding installation file appears to be under "Files" and I don't have enough storage space on my Mac for a backup of my iphone. This should be resolved as soon as possible, but it's actually only nearly 55GB. Feels like a very big bug to me.
My Steel Stratus controller works. I just had to “forget the device” and re-add the device. It works fine now. I still have no idea what’s going on as the backstory comes in piece meal. I may have to resort to doing some research, which I wanted to avoid but there is some complex world building and acclimation doesn’t come as easily as I’d hoped. Not a complaint, mind you, but an observation for folks on-boarding like me.
Since the last couple of days saving is a problem. At random moments the saving seems stuck and I can’t do anything except force quit the game. It sucks, it has caused me quite a lot of progress already.
