On a second thought I am not sure if I even want to play a beta version. It is better to play on a build in which I can play around and edit many familiar face characters which might appear on the game. I am going to spend a stupid ammount of time on that alone. Hyped! Edit: please, say that it is going to have cross-save. I lost way too many time creating my friends as custom characters.
I do agree. I was just kidding. I have told 3 friends that I am gonna gift them the game as soon as it releases. One asked about it now and I remembered to tease here. It is how much I love the game and enjoy the devs.
Content-wise, the current PC beta is ready as AORTA release. They're just squashing some potential bugs after testing. https://steamcommunity.com/games/deathroad/announcements/detail/484536374182779121 After this, dev time's gonna be focused on iOS release.
I have seem his post on facebook about that. Hope everything gets ironed out. Hoping that we could see it late february/early march, but I am not holding my breath about it. It is better if they took their time and do it right. The worth is going to be worth. DRTC is way too much fun.
They hinted on facebook that there might be a beta on iOS pretty soon. Edit: AORTA is out. Time for some iOS love, I guess. On Steam: " If there's no emergency bugfixing for this update, we're going to switch to 95% for mobile work until that's out. The extra 5% is me looking into some extra stuff, some of which would be released at around the same time as the mobile version."
From Steam today, about Android release: "About a month after the iOS version is my guess. iOS version should be in late February or March."
DID SOMEBODY SAY TESTFLIGHT BETA? (not yet haha) There were no major bugs with AORTA, so it's iOS time. 95% iOS time. Another 3% is stuff that isn't absolutely required for mobile, but would be really nice to happen at the same time. Mostly the new progression system I've been wanting to do, the current one could use some improvements. Dankrio: We may not have cross-save support on the release of iOS (in the interest of getting it out ASAP), but it seems important to add in an update. The exact timing for the launch mostly depends on scheduling things with Apple. So not really related to the game dev itself, but more related to whatever will get us a decent chance of featuring. It technically takes a week or so to get a game through the review process, but it can take way longer if you don't want the game to be buried by the flood of games.
Thanks, Kepa! Yes, better off cross-save for now if it means more delay. Looking forward to playing it. My birthday is on Thursday, by the way. Just an innocent comment. Lol
It is not just the look. The game really is awesome! It is a great contender for GOTY. Or even better, of all time, if the updates plans come to life. Plain fun and silliness.
iOS work continues. I'm looking into how to coordinate beta testing, once we have the new testflight out. This has always been kind of annoying to do. I'm thinking of using discord for all the testers. Then having a requirement that everyone that gets in answers one or two weekly questions about testing. Otherwise I'd revoke access to the testflight.
Agreed master, where do I sign up with my blood? I'm honestly excited to play this on iOS, made it once so far to Canada with one person left alive on the steam version
