I am more optimistic because Kepa has said that the game is gonna come without the major update. So, I think that we have a shot on playing this year.
If they are still in the planning stages of doing a beta test then this game in months away from release. Expect Q1 2017
There are people with TestFlight builds already. I believe they need to tweak the controls a bit then catch up the the PC with changes and as far as I can tell should be ready to release. Fall/Halloween is then perfect time for a release like this, they should be busting ass to get this out like next week'ish then continue to add tweaks and fixes like they are doing on steam.
I can't get enough of this game. Only thing that could possibly make this game any better is if they added leveling to custom characters to give this another level of fun
It could be Q1, sure. The complication is that it really needs to be approved for early November, otherwise we pretty much have to wait until January due to the yearly holiday rush on the App Store. I don't think we're big enough to do a December launch. Like blue rocket pointed out, we have been testing it internally. It's unlikely we'll need that much testing since the engine was cross-platform. It depends on how quick the testing for the new iOS-only features ends up going. That's what we're waiting on finishing before we get Testflight builds out to more people. Paul's going to focus on remaining iOS stuff for this week, so expect news on that. We'll probably have to forego that contest idea for Testflight access, due to time. Maybe we can do something a lot faster, like "post your custom character" in the thread. The system where you level up perks is supposed to fill this role. I'm planning on changing the system to involve earning points in-game that you spend to upgrade perks or earn all new perks/traits. You'll get points by finding them in-game, or for surviving sieges. I'd also like to do a system where you also get points by sharing videos of your characters dying using Apple Replay.
All your ideas look wonderful, keep up the great work, I'm happy I get to play this on PC to hold me over ! =]
And freemiums are all about.... doing stuff or paying to level up your characters / army / making the game easier / whatever.
Well, may be I should reminds you what happened to Punch Quest. I loved this game, paid for it and now I can't play it anymore because it's plagued with Ads.
Punch Quest was always a free game, though. It was 99 cents for only a month as an experiment before we figured things out, and it was still free at launch. Also if you paid for something in it, there's an option to shut off ads. Even ignoring that, I know what the ad settings are in PQ, and they're very light compared to pretty much everything else on the market. Not arguing your main point because it's your opinion, but PQ is a poor way to make your argument. All our other games are examples of how we do paid games.
PQ is an endless runner (one of the very best) and very fair in terms of purchases. I don't see how it compares with DRTC or other Rocketcat titles.
I don't see why the style of game makes any sense. Mario will be a runner and not freemium. And I also own few runners which are not freemium. Anyway, I was just expressing my worry about not screwing up a well made game with freemium mechanics and results: I got judged and trashed by everybody that don't even know me. I am out of this thread.
