Thank you so much for considering more/earlier points Kepa! It's fine if you don't like the specific ideas,
maybe someone will come up with something better, as long as we get more points. One last idea i have is keep the current ways the same, just add a mode that doubles the points every time you earn them- this way the balance of the core- harder modes is still gonna be there with everything intact, just allowing us to max the perks/traits beforehand, win and unlock the modes.

I feel like this is the best game, with a ton of content, that it just doesn't let me unlock. One reason i never regretted buying WS (apart from all the other awesome reasons) is that even if you could only reach mid game,
you could get all the characters, unlock all the hats and abilities - and after that it was just skill.
Please keep working for a similar progression to DRTC :)

I can't see the problem with progression since you get into a siege on the third day of the game or so. It is almost guaranteed that people gain at least 1zp per game, which does not equal at content locked, since it requires basic skill for surviving this first siege.

A faster progression system is another thing...

how can i unlock the anime fan and the other locked traits/ perks? the people in zombotown only offer 3 choices. do i have to spend my points on these choices even if i dont want them, to make another random trait appear on the list?

For traits you have to buy the displayed traits to find the one you want, but I think all of the perks are available at the start (for me anyway, but I had maxed out all the other perks before the new update). The traits are fairly cheap though compared to the perks, so I haven't had any issues with them; it's the perk upgrading that's eating up all of my points.

thanks for confirming! my traits on sale are 6 zombo points each... at the moment it means 4-6 playthroughs just to get one step towards what i want to actually unlock. :(

I find that a great way to get points is long winding road mode. It starts off at the same difficulty, but you have more time to stock up, meaning sieges are easier to get through, meaning more zombo points. If you have the ZP upgrade, go for rescues to get even more points.

    Amazing game

So far I've only made it to Canada on 2 out of about 30 runs, one in normal mode and one in my favorite rare characters mode. Currently trying to make it through the long and winding road mode. It would be awesome if someone set up a graph showing the perks of each personality and trait and a breakdown of the pros and cons to each. All I can say so far is I made my best friend custom characters personality explorer and his trait paranoid. You will NOT be sorry if you try this build on your take along buddy. They will get you out of trouble w the majority of the random despair events that occur to you, and with explorer you always have the option of "keep going" if you don't find the current locations to choose for looting desirable as long as you have the required gas. Oh and another thing. Don't rob the traders because I've never seen it end well.

I like to play with random starters, it is more fun this way, at least for me. I don't go for the optimal build, because it makes playing more limited.

Also, I have tons of custom friends/family based on actual traits/perks of them (or as close as possible) to spice things up.

Haven't beat deadlier mode yet, because I refuse to cheat. Almost did it yesterday but made a mistake that has cost my life on the end of the final siege. Was fun anyway. Lol

As for robbing, you must be careful. You have to know which trader you might rob safely. Also, you have to check morale/loyalty of your characters.

An idea I had to increase ZP gain was maybe just have an item lying around in the tougher locations, that gives you 1 ZP when you pick it up. Maybe flashing areas almost always have a ZP item, and red areas have a chance to have one. Like a little golden skull on the ground or something that you have to pick up?

There's a lot of good guides floating around.

Paranoid and Charming are definitely really powerful. Not a lot of people really appreciate Explorer, but it can be incredibly good if you're willing to use it to its full potential. That is, roll whenever you can so you can get special areas and/or grocery stores and other high value locations. Part of this is figuring out what "high value locations" means.

    Hello,

    Great update !
    @Kepa - few requests
    - Seems like zombo points earnings from upgrades are not displayed in the chat. Could thse be added ?
    - is it possible as well to have a zombo point counter somewhere in a menu when you are in game, as the only way to check current value is to leave your current game due to #1

I could add ZP notices from the upgrades being displayed in-chat, though I didn't because it's extra clutter in some cases. Adds some unnecessary [ MORE ] buttons. That and you can check for increases in the road pause menu (but not the in-location menu), so I thought that was sufficient given the possible drawbacks of making it more clear.

Something I noticed about explorer is that it is simply allowing you to progress further - IE it's not really a reroll, instead it allows you to display the locations you could have seen on next ABL event earlier.

It also makes the rerolls give you more options, so you can get through the deck of locations much faster. I think it still makes the rerolls cheaper on gas, too.

Yeah - you get to see at least 33% more locations
I thought each ABL was randomized but actually the deck of locations is calculated only once at the start of the game :)

I thought the ex-wrestler/grappler sounded fun but it turned out to sound much better in concept, feels like this wasn't even tested.

The first issue is it takes several punches to knock down a zombie, even when paired with a Berserk. It's super inefficient.

The second issue is after you finally beat a zombie down and grapple it your teammates attack and kill the zombie you are holding over your head. Usually before you can even throw it.

Don't waste your precious ZP unlocking these skills, they are basically garbage. And I was really excited to throw zombies around too :(((
