Let me know what you think about the update once you get a chance to play. The old progression system bothered me, so for that update I added the points so that there was a more clear way to upgrade perks, and unlock perks/traits. This will also hopefully help with new player's difficulty a bit, since they have something to work towards. The new perks and traits should also be good for everyone, though I didn't want them to be a straight upgrade to the point of making all the other stuff obsolete. Some of the new perk/trait combinations are really good though, like the new Shield of Hope perk and the old BERSERK! trait.

agree. the zombo points right now: skilled and experienced players can get them, and unlucky - not so skilled - inexperienced players need to struggle just to get 1. Surviving certain sieges and getting to Canada? if i could do these things i wouldnt need more progress unlocks.
I have played this game since day 1. Only beat it once. I know I don't suck at video games but. I can't ever get lucky enough. All my good survivors 80% randomly leave. I'm like "NOOOOOOOO"
at this rate, i get 1 zombo point per run if i am lucky. and now training your stats in missions doesn't level up the perks anymore, you can only do that with points. i suggest adding these to the existing ways to get zp: 1) get a point every 5 events (5days) 2) get a point every 30 zombies killed this way, even us that make it at best to the last siege, at worst some days in, can level up and get a chance to win once, after some playthroughs. and from then on, things can roll on. i beleive like this, in 3 playthroughs even if you lose, instead of giving up on frustration, you get enough points to level something up and say it was worth it. i feel the point system as it is now made it even harder to level up.
Question.... So if I use ZP to level up, it then applies to all characters for all runs? Or do o have to pick specific characters to use the ZP on/level up? Are the upgrades permanent or do they only apply to your next run? (I did try and look so if this has been discussed/answered, I apologize)
Have you ever considered special zombies? Random just like everything else... A Walken Walker for example, that dances around vs shambling. In fact, Christopher Walken, Walker slayer eould be pretty slick.... pale, fedora, dual wields uzis like in his movie McBain and instead of one liners, when he is your main a monologue ticker runs on the screen at top wgile he drones on with an intricate story about his cat, or a chalupa he ate once, something obscure but amazing...
ZP level ups affect all characters with that trait/perk. The upgrades are permanent as well, so choose wisely
Are you still getting points from the first siege? At worst I was figuring people would mostly survive that first siege, giving a point per run minimum. It sounds like this isn't the case, so it's either a bug or exaggeration. I don't want to do points for zombie kills. Could look into other ways to get ZP... currently you get them by: 1. Winning 2. Surviving a siege or hazard (after picking a reward) 3. Unlock that gives you one for rescuing someone 4. Unlock that gives you one for recruiting someone (so you can get 2 from a rescue event if you recruit) 5. Unlock that gives you one if an ally dies, whether or not they're in your team 6. The rare toilet paper event I don't like the "giving it every X days" either, since the "survive siege" one is basically like that anyway. Maybe I could scatter ZP around in more events? Downside is that's rather luck based. I'll look out for more ideas on where to put more ZP, to help newer players. Maybe someone will come up with a really good one. We have some special zombies but they're rare and just cosmetic changes. We want to do survivor zombies eventually... kill an old character that's zombiefied and get their loot. Not sure WHEN though, sometime in year 2 of our updates I hope.
You said it yourself: the unlockable ways 3-5 aren't happening for newer players. That leaves us with winning (not possible) and surviving sieges or hazards to get points. Personally, i can win one or two per run if a shitstorm chain eventing doesn't hit me. My suggested ideas were so that we could get some points even if the shitstorm hits, for our playtime and to help us along our first actual win, which will lead to more unlocks and better skills in turn. Sad to hear you don't like them.
I like the general idea of earlier/more points, I didn't like the two specific ideas you had for doing this. If you can survive to day 5, that means you've also gotten past the first couple sieges. Both of those should give a point, it sounded like the first easy siege wasn't giving a point for you.
How is it after all this time I still can't drop an item? When playing as a brawler I do more damage with no weapon equipped yet the first time I play after this big whoopty doo update my inventory fills up and I'm forced to swing a purse I can't drop. Literally in seconds I'm reminded of one of the reasons why I stopped playing this game G...G... Edit - and the car menu bugging when you honk the horn is STILL a thing.....wooooow lol just wow /slowclap
