I play on an iPad, too and take part in the beta. I had issues with the default controls, too and set deadzone to 0 and drag zone to 10 and it felt better immediatly. Stick with it and the controls become second nature. I know that my settings are kinda extremely low, but you can give that a try, if the other suggestion doesn't do it for you. For combat keep in mind that big, heavy things like pipes have a little cooldown as they pack quite a punch before you can swing again.
Btw what do the health types mean? There's like a blinking heart. Then there's a blinking health or something. Not sure what these different statuses are and maybe leaving them in the car when I go on runs is better but I have no idea what that does either. Any assistance?
So your saying that if my health is anything less than full, once I get in the car and leave it'll use a med kit if I have one?
Still on the fence about this game.. Questions. Is playability on a larger screen like an ipad better than my iphon6? Does the game have a auto save feature so that you can play it across multiple devices w/o have to start all over again? Thx..
Blinking heart higher is when you are going to be killed on the next hit. 1 hp left. Aboit leaving in the car, it's up to personal strategy. You can leave people that have low health, are tired or even if you just feel like leaving one. If I am not mistaken, it takes 3 meds for 1 hp usually. Also, a very low medical can actually HURT you. Lol Happened to me.
"The group decides to tell scary stories. Kvothe decides to make his story about HUGE FARTS *Blinking*" lol what?! Aww man this is great. I got another question. When u get in the car, and the options come up to start the car, or honk or whatever the third option is, I have no idea how to select the bottom two options. Seems like if I touch right around the middle of the car or bottom of the screen, the selection queue will sometimes go down to the next option, but not consistently. And once I'm at one of the lower two options like "honk", I'm stuck there and can't figure out how go back up. I have to get out then get back in. Someone mind helping me again?
Swipe down/up on the screen and it should work. However I think there's a glitch that if you honk, the start car buttons will become unselectable and you will have to get out of the car to reset the options Okay thanks! I'll check that out. It's really hard to understand the HP in this game..
Ok huge fan of souls but guys these controls are brutal. This floaty feeling is nothing like waywards tight setup. Getting use to controls means they aren't good. I can rhyme off a ton of games that kill controls and this isn't ok. We can't confuse love for,a great game and company. Look at crashland movement, wayward...
BUG REPORT: Selecting "long winding road" and "deadlier road" modes, without them being unlocked (presumably) results in CTD (whatever the iPad equivalent of that's called now). Game's fun otherwise, happy I bought it, thanks for sticking to your pricing scheme and not putting souls on sale (unless i missed it), big reason why I bought this one as well, and expect that like souls, it'll only get deleted when I change tablets lol. I also want to say nice things about the art direction, the char models look really nice and detailed, all look distinct, the color pallete is suitable for the genre, and aside from the one surfer rock track that seems to repeat ad nauseum, the game looks like what it's trying to come across as, so kudos. (I like the surf rock style, fits with the grindhouse theme, but I feel like the music in the game gets old fast, noticed that I wanted to turn it off during my first play through, not a good sign considering the genre wasn't the thing that got me thinking like that). Not a fan of the humor in the game mostly, knew ahead of time, bought it for the rogue like and the company rep vis a vis pricing. Hope this is taken as an endorsement for some, the tongue in cheek hipster irony about the zombie apocalypse doesn't detract from the solid gameplay, if you're like me, and that's not your thing. Same as last time, thanks for a good product, hope y'all turn a profit, and thanks again for being active on these forums.
It's not supposed to control like Wayward souls, it's a totally different game. Controls are slower and the clunky-ish movement is what makes this game unique. All of RC's games are brutal difficulty, I finished WS and have been to Canada 3 times so far, with a 2 win streak currently. I'm not a great gamer, but the more you play -- the better you get and figure out how to get a solid run. God, it took me like a week or so to beat the first dungeon in WS! The one thing that no other developer other than RC is able to do is make my heart beat like it's about to pop out of my chest when I'm about to win... It's incredible. Why would you want a game you could win on every run... Where would the replayability be, or fun!??
I like your attitude, buddy! I am finding DRtC pretty darn hard, and Wayward Souls is one of those games I keep meaning to come back to (but haven't) because nothing really clicked the first time. I'm hoping the penny drops this time around and I find my way to Canada.
There's a formula to survival in this game. Each scenario requires you to choose the member best suited for a good result. If you're asked to shoot choose someone with a high shooting if it's a stressful situation choose someone with high composure etc Also watch your characters stats before making a decision
You won't regret the journey. Got once to Canada, but it didn't make things more easier on the next few runs. In fact, it might have gotten even worse, since I got a little cocky. Lol! But I am getting better and better at it and won't stop until I beat all modes. On WS I beat the Catacombs with all characters and Labirynth with the Warrior. Eventually I am going to do the others. I hope so! But I have to tell you. On the final seconds of my run to Canada I thought I was gonna have a heart attack. Lol So much fun.
I love all of the little easter eggs that pop up from time to time. I drove through a vortex, teamed up with the Gnome from punch quest, and picked up an immortal hitchhiking Jason Voorhees who dispatched my passengers one by one before plummeting to my death by driving off a bridge! The random quirkiness reminds me a lot of Knights of Pen and Paper and Tower of Fortune 3.
BEAT IT ON NORMAL FEELS SO GOOD MVP: Chainsaw - make sure you guys all save some gas and a chainsaw if you're nearing the end Full disclosure, I used a loophole to get help in hard battles BUT I plan to not use it from this point on unless I'm really bored (which I'm not). I only did this to get the other modes unlocked. The ending sieges are ridiculously hard - lots of skill involved if you want to survive. My favorite character was a character creation called Megumin (gave her the buffest of buffest traits), and I couldn't bear to see her die as she's so slow with her strong skill set, so when she was falling behind and getting swarmed, I whipped out my trusty ANTI-ZOMBIE MEGAKILLER 2000 aka Chainsaw and jumped back in there to save her. Worth it. She's saved me from bandits, healed me, scared people away, beat up some of my other members (had to kick out a member who was beefin with my Meguin), and I was going to Canada for her!! She's the reason I survived!! btw, some lame girl forced her way into my party late game and got a free ride to Canada - jerk Anyhow, won't spoil the ending but honestly, after ALL I went through, the ending was totally worth it. Lots of WTF moments - the end area / events / scenes are probably some of my favorite in any game I've ever played. So worth it. I understand why Canada now. All hail Canada. Can't wait to play some more TLDR: Worth the money Okay back to playing again! Thanks Rocketcat, this definitely trumps Wayward Souls now. Now I would just love collectables you could get in runs like hats in Wayward. Then I'll play this non-stop.
made some new characters for iPad since I was playing on my phone. anyone wanna guess what anime these are from? xD
