Are you joking? The game has been out one day and you're whining you can't beat it yet not trying to be a jerk but if I could beat this game first day it sure wouldn't be as fun And why does a game have to be easy to beat to be fun I like a challenge, I dont care if I die and have to start over still fun every play for me cuz my goal isn't to beat the game it's to enjoy the game Try enjoying games and don't concern yourself so much with beating them. Sounds like this genre isn't for you It is possible to beat it just probably not first day of trying
I agree with both of you. I do like a game that is challenging but I feel a game like this I should be able to beat (or get damn close) the first day. It's really not all that complicated out of the gate. It reminds me of BoI. It was brutally difficult to begin with but before you know it I killed MOM, unlocked all the characters, etc. What I enjoy about these types of games is the replayability but I sure can appreciate a taste of victory sooner than later. This isn't final fantasy, I shouldn't need to sink 60 hours into beating this the first time but I will sink 600 in replaying it because it's awesome
For reference in my playing the PC version: I've played around 20 hours before first reaching to Canada. Once I learned the game, winning the basic modes is pretty easy (got the Solo Run and Five Game Win Streak achievement). The Extreme to Kepa Modes are a different beast that required much more time to win, but still not impossible. After 60 hours of total game time, I beat Kepa Mode, and I haven't experienced all of the content the game has to offer. The 20 hours worth of deaths I did before my first win was sometimes frustrating, but it's still satisfying because I know it's my fault and learned something new. I enjoyed the game's core loop very much that I persevered and reaching Canada was worth the effort.
I follow you now Final Fantasy is my favorite so that's the difference in opinions and I understand that... I love sinking a good 65-80 hours into a game to beat it and dragon quest as well It's all good BOI and this one are a lot alike to me and games you can sink tons of play time into I apologize for rushing at you like you were crazy haha
The game isn't that difficult, you are more likely to get killed while on the road than zombies (only hordes towards the end game are tough) I won the game under rare character mode at my sixth game. I don't think i spent that much hours. Right now, i'm trying to unlock all game modes.
Haha did everyone freak out about what I just said? Lol I bought this today and don't really love roguelikes, or rpgs, or zombies, but this looks too cool, and despite the fact the the only game by Rocketcat I enjoy is Punch Quest, the hype got me and this just looks hella cool. Grabbed it tonight but will probably wait until tomorrow to dive in.
So my son only had one character left and that one character found a candy bar. So just to see what would happen when it asks what he wanted to do with it he chose "split it equally among team" or whatever it says. His character, the only one left, got angry that he had to share and smashed the candy bar on the ground so that no one would get any. #####
I think I want to add more unlockables to help with this. Specifically, I want to change how perk/trait unlocking works. You actually can level up your perks right now to help you in the early game, but this isn't obvious enough. I wanted to get this in, in time for the iOS version, but didn't quite make it! Anyway, I rebalance the game all the time. Let me know if anything specific stands out as unfair. I'm always listening (though I won't implement all feedback, I'll at least consider it). Go for it. Use spoiler tags if you feel you need to? I don't know what the consensus is, there. No, sadly. It's on the request list, but we never figured out a great way to do it on both touchscreen and PC. Haha. We actually account for that. The event mentions "imaginary friends" if you're alone, and you get a different result than if you were in a group. There's other things like that scattered around, where the game tries to respond if you're being a dingus (RE: trying to fool it by doing group actions when alone).
If you feel old, then there's a decent chance you've played a game called "the Oregon trail" and this is that beefed up far beyond what that game is, but with the same idea and ya know, with zombies and all. Or maybe Faster Than Light? Played that? Or Out There? Like branching paths that make each experience unique and much different from your last play through is pretty much what it's about
Yea I'm actually most excited for the new "upgrade" system instead of whatever it is now, still love the game tho, still working on that competition I started with the family and gf (whoever makes it to Canada first) loser owes Winner dinner.
Is there a glitch in that if you honk you car horn (only tested this with no zombies around), you can no longer hit "start the car" or "go"? Those options won't be selectable and you have to get out of your car and not hit the honk horn to get the car to leave.
The Oregon Trail was a total classic! Haha... thanks for sharing and yes I own FTL and Out There I like both of those games! I may have to give this one a try!
Been fidgeting with the dead/drag zone, but can't *quite* get comfy yet... guess I'm looking for something that feels like Wayward Souls's movement... help? please? #
0 on the top set and 99 on the bottom set is what I and many people prefer. Gives the most ease of movement imo.
