This game sucks me in like an interactive story and makes me feel like I'm really a part of it. All the magic that made MG and WS "must have" titles is here. Probably the most epic thing about DRTC is the insane amount of variety, and I've hardly scratched the surface. Lives up to the hype for sure!
It's absurd how crazy this game is. People have commented 189 times so far and less than 24 hours after release. A lot of games don't even get that much attention on here.
So i'm not sure. I want to get it, but was actually pretty disappointed with the indie week - not that the games were bad, but people we're throwing GOTY left and right and after buying Kingdom i felt pretty let down. I'm a visual designer and Kingdom looks great, but after the first island i found the game to be shallow and seeing how everyone likes the GOTY sticker i'm kinda reluctant beleiving opinions here at the forums. Even Card Thief is far from the hyper game i was "expecting" still it's the best of the bunch. I've just recently got Crypt of Necrodancer (late to the party) and everything elese next to it feels average. So how does this hold up? I liked WS, but never really blew me away despite being one of the best mfi games.
I feel the same. Exactly. And I finally got to Canada. Man, my heart beat so fast it was crazy. I knew the Hero head surgery would work. eivetS, the Hero-faced Mega Mauler got alone into Canada. This game is AWESOME!!!!! Now "only" the other modes left. Gonna try and finish them all. Familiar Characters mode now it is. Only going to move to the next one after I finish it and then again and again. The same I did with Wayward Souls (I have still to beat the Labyrinth with the other chars besides the Warrior, but DRTC is going to come before that). No one can answer that for you. You have to try and see for yourself.
I love crypt and it's average compared to this Whether you like it or not will rest with you Indie week to me wasn't anything to get crazy about Puzzle games galore etc I got kingdoms and I agree with you But this game is in a league of its own at the top
Hahaha wtf I just had the cheapest ending ever. I choose to hit golf balls at the zombie horde at the pro shop and all my characters ended up dying and I couldn't do anything about it. #
I'm really appreciative of the music in this game. Not only is it good, but it's also not depressing. After a decade of zombie sorrow and hell on earth, im really welcoming the light hearted tone of the game. It was actually a major selling point for me. Even though a zombie apocalypse is supposed to be a negative experience, im totally sick of that attitude and it's enough to make me ignore or stop playing other games. I downloaded another f2p zombie game and 5 minutes in I was like nope, this music sounds like the rusty warehouse my teammate just died in. Ima go check for updates on DRtC
Not sure. I can blow the horn. I can jump out of the car.... Then I get my ass handed to me. Can't drive away
I'm on the fence also about this game. I personally didn't like the dev's other games to much. For the most part they were just ok but I did like Punch Quest a little more. I don't know what kind of games you're into but there are a ton of premium games on the AppStore that are incredible in all genres. Even if Indie week didn't astound you you should keep digging. I'm pretty sure you'll find a few. Btw, I think Crypt of the NecroDancer is really good also.
Ugh someone ban this spam leech ^^^ I'm referring to qapedTub in case his posts get deleted. He's spamming some junk about a Lenovo phone. Reported. Don't take advantage of DRtC's popularity for your own gain ya dink!
The launch of this game is "off the hook" with so much love! Congrats to the developers and thanks for a smart pricing scheme that will increase with new updates! I have to say that I'm totally on the fence with this game. It actually is the first time that I feel OLD as maybe I just don't get it... I'm so confused and puzzled about this game. Part of me thinks it's cool that it seems to be open ended with unlimited things to do (I guess) and everytime you play it is a new experience etc... I love open world games and like the idea of exploring and finding out what to do on my own etc... I like non-linear etc... I admit I don't like rogue games, I think I get frustrated. I like to see progress or when I choose to play a game that does has an end and if I want to do missions that lead to progress I like it. Please explain to an OLD geezer of a gamer what this game is all about and why should I consider getting it... Again congrats to the developer and clearly this game has a total following!!! I'm just a bit dazed and confused.
After 30 games of trying i give up on this game. Its just too hard. FTL or BoI is all easy stuff compared to this. Have read a few good tips after getting demolished in the first 14 games, but it didn't help. Rare mode didn't help me either. The most awaited game turned out to be full of frustration for me. Its just too many random events combined with a really frustrating combat and loot system. I don't get why so many devs design games the way that most players will never have the chance to see the ending. Why not add a casual mode to get used to everything in the game?
Drtc has a difficulty/learning curve thay can be abrupt due to its simple complexity. Understanding how to survive in combat while using the fairly minimal set of tools requires a bit of flexibility, patience, and comprehension. In particular learn the benefits of throwing chairs (or other items as u can grab them as your points increase) as it seems to use less stamina. Customizing your character is also at least 25-50% of how far u can go consistently. There are certain class combinations that have sunnergistic Effects that make things a bit easier. However, all the skills create a unique quirk, so playing around with the skills and traits is overall a huge part of the metagame you dont want to ignore! For me, the game became awesome when i realized i could slip through waves of zombies with the right patience and timing, and then got dhocked with hiw crazy events were hidden in all directions that added a quirky turn. I have sooo many stories about this game from rabdom events that i dont want to spoil anything here, but there are sacrifices and decisions that can make every playthrough unique! If the devs says its ok, i can talk about some of the less frequent events that were literaly mind blowing in introiue and ingeniousness!
