Unlock mechanism was designed so that new players don't get all the levels right away, but after getting used to controls and getting to know some of the easier levels. You need to collect 25 parts to get Eureka. We have more updates coming up, so I'm sure you'll get to enjoy Eureka sooner or later if you keep playing a race every now and then. - Heikki
How do I get "42 Fame" and "God of all Gods" achievements? I have 4.4 million in fame and I have beaten the marathon, which I assume would be the 42 Fame but it isn't. Haven't unlocked the Eureka yet. Collected 15 parts already.
God of all gods will be accomplished when you gain 10million fame. The 42 i can only assume But what about achievements "to unlock the rift" and "to unlock the refinery"? They apperad after update but this two tracks are available without unlocking from the very beginning. ?!
If you haven't played the game you'll unlock the cars and weapons and the track eventually after playing it normally, you can find like 1-3 parts in each race if I recall correctly. If you've played the game then you've probably unlocked everything else already, and you'll be able to unlock the track in a few games. So as mentioned, it's not like it'll take a long time.
Almost every race I had gave me one part. Altogether I played about 30 races to unlock the ice track which was fun and totally worth it!
Nice one! Played everything: collected everything: mazed everything. I LOVE this game and I am very grateful the developer is adding QUALITY extra content, in this case an extra track!! Aewsome! That is real value for money. Few bugs: - Two track activation achievements that were added are not retroactive: there is no way to unlock these if you previously unlocked the tracks anyway without it being a gamecenter achievement. - Can you include a stick sensitivity option? I am so fanatic sometimes my car stops because my left thumb hit the white border on my iPad2 - The Adversary. Seriously. I dont mind a tough challenge. I race all tracks extreme and I am pretty good at it. But the adversary has NOTHING to do with skills and training and EVERYTHING with luck (the crates, etc). You just have to try it dozens and dozens of times. It never works for me. I dunno how people do it. I like a challenge, when it's based on skill. Not on luck. Luck does not make great gameplay for me. This is not a request to change the adversary at all, but more of a feedback thingy. But those are minor details. Death Rally, for me, is the best top down racer in the App Store and with full screen anti alias and ipad 2 enhancements it looks jaw dropping gorgeous on my new ipad 2. Add the free high quality updates the febelopers are bringing and you have a game that I will NEVER delete off my iPad. That's love!
Thanks for the clarification. I've unlocked everything but a few weapons that need upgrading so it shouldn't take long then.
I feel you on this. I finally beat him yesterday using mines of all things! I did that race at least 20 different times over the past month. Even with completely maxed out car stats he is just plain faster than anything the game gives you.
The Adversary isn't hard at all; you just have to use the right strategy. As long as you can keep up with him, just stay behind him and fire missiles/strikers. Once you run out, get more ammo and repeat. If you fall behind, try to find a nitro. Use bumpers instead of laser sight since missiles already lock-on. Keep your regular shot aimed at him for as long as possible. Basically, stay a little behind him and wreck his car as quickly as you can. An alternate method is to stay a bit behind him until the second half of the last lap, then grab a nitro and speed past him to the finish.
He can also be beaten with a missile. You just have to be lucky enough to pick up nitro and ammo upgrades at the right moments. Took me many tries to kill him. It would be great to have a comic appear at the end congratulating you considering the fact that killing the adversary is part of the story.
Nice update! Haven't got the new map yet but the gamecenter map related bug has to he fixed since i really dont want to have to start over to get it.
That's what I'm saying. Ofcourse it can be done, but luck is not my favorite gameplay mechanic. I am a pretty good Death Rally racer and play all things Extreme, but the Adversary: screw that. That's programmer's arrogance. Sorry, but it is. It has nothing to do with actual skills. At all.
This is a top down racer the way it should be done I really like it, these games just do not work without the upgrades and some kind of career I think I was probably the most vocal against reckless racing on these forums but this game hit's the mark and does it right. I'll post up an itunes review giving it the full five stars tomorrow
Winning Adversary by racing is purely skill related, Nitros helps ofcourse just like in regular races. But this is legendary driver Adversary who we are talking about. We didn't want it to be easy to kill him. You need three things 1) Right Equipment 2) Right strategy 3) Luck. Luck isn't my favourite game mechanic either, but just like in life - sometimes things just fall in their right places. You need to devote time to kill Adversary and depending on your Equipment, Strategy you will need more or less Luck (to get ammo). To speed things up, restart race from pause menu if you didn't do too well in first couple of laps i.e. didn't get enough ammo pickups. Upcoming Update 4 will add bit more depth to battle side of Death Rally and at the same time it will add more strategies to kill Adversary. Good luck with the Adversary and thanks for supporting DR. - Heikki
Ugh, trying to get all the achievements played a large role in making this game so addictive for me and my friends. Now that it's impossible to get all the achievements, I'm afraid that will no longer be the case going forward. I certainly wouldn't pay for any DLC in a game that's impossible to finish. Please fix the achievement bug!
