I bought this the other day, but haven't got around to playing it yet. The control update is promising. I'll try and find a sec to actually play it.
You haven't actually covered the Death Rally controls here (directional stick), does that mean you've never experienced them in a racing game? I'm really surprised about all the talk of control issues, it feels pretty much perfect to me.
When you assume you are either right or wrong, you have found the one case where you are half right and half wrong. GC is a decent platform but for multiplayer its a horrible option. In my honest opinion. You may lecture about iOS programming but until you have played the amount of GC multiplayer games I have you cannot really justify saying the section in bold. Not everyone has a great internet connection, Im lucky enough to have one, and no matter who I play with or what kind of network the others are on, I experience lots of lag. Granted this could be user side issues, but I can play other games just fine, be it PC games, xbox games, psn games, Real Racing 2, all without any issues, and none of those games are using GC and I am playing all those games on my home network. You cannot assume that no one is inherently slow as 90% of the time you will find someone who happens to lag like a mother f'er If they choose to incorporate online multiplayer they should try and purchase their own servers or use their own servers rather than GC. Just my 2cents
I think part of the problem is that some may be basing their control issues on the early part of the game. Once you upgrade your handling and speed, the controls actually work well. I wouldn't say they're perfect, but you will have some issues with control accuracy in the initial parts of your career. And, trust me, you will not win a lot of races early on either at least for me. DR is designed to be both fun and frustrating because you have to earn your place.
I take this back. Someone on twitter recommended Camera 2 and my control woes are gone. I'm playing it both on the iPhone 4 and on the iPad. Stellar game, kudos for making it universal. Couldn't recommend it enough now
Does anyone have any tips for the best possible car? I think it's the Wraith with every stat upgraded, but confirmation would be nice.
Arrow controls. Great! I ve been waiting for that. Still dont know, why EA isnt able to do the same For the NFS games.
Yeah I agree - cam 2 should be the default. I wonder if people are having probs with the controls because of the cam and they don't realize u can switch it.
Based on the stats u can see in the garage screen, deliverator is the best with 6 speed 5 handling and 4 armor. Wraith only has 6, 2, 2.
Funny how people have trouble with the controls. I unlocked all the achievements in 2 days using standard cam and stick thing. Nt bragging but i got used to it within a few minutes. Ideal? Maybe not. But totally doable. Nice to see the devs adding new control schemes though.
There's a camera-reel logo at the bottom next to the fire button, you can use that to toggle the camera. Certain maps don't allow for it though (mixed and rotated).
first of all, nice work! it is a great game that I enjoy a lot recently. I have no problem for the control at all, actually I like it better than reckless racing. I had questions: how do you achieve "God of All God" + "The 42"?
This is from one of the remedy guys. They won't tell us what it is. All i can think of is that it's marathon related, since it has 42 laps. Maybe do a marathon on every single track?
