Any game is a matter of taste. I think the game is great as is. With maps its just the matter of working out all the turns by continuing to race them. My most difficult one was the refinery. After I played it a few times I knew when the turns were coming up and was able to win the races. You need to use a combination of weapons and good driving to win races. Some games I don't bother trying to perfect, but this one is just pure fun.
After a couple days of hands on, I've come to the conclusion this game is crap. Just my opinion, but having to "get lucky" to win a race is stupid. If you don't get the nitro's, you don't win, no matter how powered up your car is. If no nitro's drop from the boxes, you lose. I'm noticing power up's play almost no part in gameplay. If you play certain vehicles, no matter how powered up, you lose. The game completely relies on the environment drops each race. Starting positions are totally random, so if you start last, you lose. The fact that certain cars are WAY faster, regardless of how powered up you are is crappy. Once you finish everything, replayability is absent. Racing tracks backwards and the camera option all of a sudden doesn't work anymore is sad. There's just so many crappy variables to this game that in the end, it must come down to, this game is not my cup of tea. I know I'm going to get responses of I probably suck and none of what I said is true, on and on, but I'm sad I wasted money on this and we'll all have our own opinions. I've gotten over 70% achieved, so I have a solid taste for the game. I'm kinda bummed because I had higher hopes for this game.
You can't win from any position or with any car? I've won without any nitro's many times in the beginning it's a bit hard so you have to focus more on using your weapons. But after you get the car before the Wraith or the deliverator it's not that hard. But i do agree with the backwards and rotated race thing, i have being forced to use a certain camera mode. And after i've unlocked everything i've been doing the achievements for replayability but i know some people don't care much about achievements.
I think one of the issues is how you view the game. If you view it solely as a racer like Reckless Racing, yeah, you're going to be frustrated and disappointed. But if you view it as lots of mayhem and destruction wrapped around a racing game, I think you'll really enjoy it. I see it the second way, and it sounds like you view it the first. I also have a hard time coming in first (though I have done it a number of times), but I don't actually care - as long as I'm not dead last and/or have destroyed at least one car, I'm happy. Of course if I come in first and/or destroy most of the cars, I'm really happy. I do agree that the reverse/camera issue is annoying, but I simply avoid the reverse races. I'm also a bit concerned about finishing and then not having anything new to unlock, but the devs seem to be all over that with updates.
I think you nailed it. I skipped RR, but my thinking is, yeah a fully powered up car should be finishing 1st place (to claim the biggest reward value). But it's probably very true how you worded it in the fact that this is a game of survival and not a race to the finish @ first place. I just go into every race type game with that mentality and make it the goal. I probably only get 1st place 35% of the time, if that and I guess after a while, with a fully powered up car, it gets frustrating. I do survive the races every time, so I guess if that's the goal, I'm doing okay. LOL @ B34$T Word!
I've started in last place many times and come out in first place even without using nitro's. Not always but I've done it and I'm getting better in doing it more often now. You can block cars using nitro's from overtaking you as well. (course your getting shot at) It's finding the line in turns that makes you quicker, that's some skill and not being just lucky. You realize you can go off the track in some area's to beat out other cars? Other times the lead car actually will pull over for power ups or just randomly at times (mainly when I've been blasting away at it) and your able to take the lead by a winning margin and go to the finish line, again even without any nitro's. Imo, it's not a real serious racing game anyway and mainly for fun. Need to relax and just enjoy it.
I think this game was overhyped and is now overrated. It's ok but nothing amazing. Graphics are the best thing going for it, but the view, gameplay, physics, polish are all lacking a little
even the fastest cars move to slow to provide some real challenge and to give the feeling of some action.
Does anyone have any tips on having a certain person as the boss for a race? I only need the Destory Brazillian achievement but cannot for the life of me find Vincente Del Rua to try and destroy him. Thanks.
This looks so cool. Loved the old one, used to play it as kid. Achievements are right on spot! Best of wishes!
Some of the bosses only appear on certain difficulties, for Vincente you should probably aim for 4/5 star races. You can just keep playing until you find him while unlocking the other achievements (namely max upgrades and fame), but if you're left with that you can just enter and quit races until you get him.
I still love this game. Also love the controls, at least only with the second camera But I can“t beat the Adversary, I got everything upgraded. And even with the same car as him, I have trouble to keep up with him. Anyone here who has some tips?
@Buuks Same here. I'm already on 126% progress but I'm still yet to destroy the Adversary. About 4 times out of 5 I always get him down to 1 bar. Had the laps been 6, I'd have killed him by now. From how I see you it, some luck is also involved particularly in getting ammo refills and a nitro boost here and there so you won't lose him. I've tried several times already with the missile and striker. Might try later going with Mines or Sniper. After I destroy him though, I might take a break from Death Rally. Been playing it nonstop since getting it last weekend. One of the best purchases I've had for iOS gaming. Just hope an arena level gets made in an update.
If you just want to get 1st place, just play normally and go for pickups, with 1 or 2 Nitros you should be able to overtake him, after that you might need some along the way as well. Using Missiles to slow him down would help too. Sometimes if you damage him enough he'll stop and let you pass (so you don't shoot at him presumably), use that chance to increase your lead too. If you want to destroy his car, you'll probably need a lot of luck and patience. Ammo pickups will be important, you'll need a lot of missiles to take him down (10-15?). Try not to miss because you'll be wasting your ammo. You'll also need Nitro again to catch up sometimes. Unfortunately I haven't beaten him myself so if anyone has better tips, it would be appreciated too. XD
