this game is frickin amazing. its one of the most polished 3d games I've seen on the iOS so far. super slick. I highly recommend it! the opening cut scene for instance - wow!
1.1 update is out NOW I've been playing for the last 7 hours... and now this!? My night officially belongs to Death Rally
I played the updated game enough to unlock and upgrade new weapons and cars. I am still puzzled by the laser sight. What does it actually do? When the sight is on the vehicle the machinegun misses it completely. Love the multiple rocket launcher. Its not as powerful as the sinle shot missile but looks awesome when it homes in on the target. Since update I get framerate drops in missions. Sometimes in the middle, sometimes at the beginning. Never happened before and I hope devs address it. I restarted my iPod touch 4g but it still happens in every third mission or so. Game centre integration is still stuffed. I still get crashes when trying to access Achievements through Game Centre. The achievements don't sync to game centre and during the same session I keep gettin "achievements" pop ups for things I have achieved ages ago. Please fix it as it impacts on the overall quality. Last complaint is the challenges. I keep getting Adversary and nitro challenge at the bottom. From time to time I got sentinel challenge and once I saw head to head challenge pop up, but its mainly Adversary and nitro challenges that dominate the "line up". Please randomise those a bit more. Overall I am happy with the game but the Game centre bugs and crashes and the framedrops during gameplay need to be fixed.
Same here & fully upgraded. I was hoping the new missile launcher would be even more destructive than the first one, but it's not. I still prefer the single over the the multiple missiles.
Actually the laser sight is great for sniper rifle and probably for Gatling gun as well. Sniper rifle is a viable option now that I can actualy see where the shot will hit. This laser designator makes older weapons quite viable. I don't mind the new car. It doesn't look too different from the Shrieker but it's still good to have more choice. I like the pattern and the colours. One thing that I didn't really like is that when you repair your vehicle the repair animation lags a bit. Previously the repair was faster. I suppose it's not a big deal and just a matter of taste.
Through the update as well... The achievements seem to work now, I have all except the two highest fame level achievements. Great. (Well unless 5.7 million fame is supposed to unlock them, but I guess it's not ;-)) I was a bit disappointed that this update didn't offer anything to players who already completed the original game: - The new achievements were for upgrading cars and weapons to 100%, which I had already done except for the new ones, so I just had to go through all of my cars and weapons once more to unlock the achievements. What I would have liked to see is new achievements that I am less likely to have completed the objectives for, e.g. something similar to Spectrum of Pain but requiring 10, 50, 500 kills with every weapon; or an achievement for winning specific challenges a number of times (just as an example). - The Wraith has nothing to offer if you already have the Deliverator unlocked. If you don't, then it's just another stepping stone on the path to it, since it's also not really better than the cars you unlock before it. What I would have liked to see is more cars that remain viable options once you have all cars unlocked. A car like the Wraith that handles worse and survives nothing compared to the Deliverator would have to have some redeeming feature, for example, you could give some cars special abilities that make them better suited for specific desired race outcomes. Right now, the Deliverator is the best choice for winning the race, for achieving a new lap or race record, and for killing everybody. Just as an example, one car could have a higher ammo capacity while another could get a bonus to Nitro speed or duration, or maybe an ability to jump forward, or ram a car, etc. - The laser sight is somewhat poorly designed. While it is useful to some extent, it's not at the same offset as the weapons that need it most, so you can't rely on it *and* if you use it, you lose a means of doing that last 1% of damage once you're out of ammo. - The Striker is cute, but borderline useless. The damage it does isn't a problem but aiming it is; it's hard to avoid that half of your missiles end up in some crate or barrel especially with a fully upgraded Striker. Half of its ammo is wasted by design. With the normal missile launcher, you can avoid wasting any ammo. The Striker's only redeeming difference is that you can be closer to your opponent and still hit him. Some suggestions for weapons that play differently from the existing ones (just trying to be constructive here ): - A beam turret that locks on to the closest target in front of me within a given angle and slowly drains health while I hold the button. This would play differently from any existing weapon. The Gatling Gun is similar in that it's effect is almost the same as a straight beam would produce. A beam weapon that makes aiming easier than the Gatling Gun could do slightly less damage as a trade-off. - Some weapon that fires to one or both sides of the car. We have mines that are effective against cars behind you and all other weapons that are effective against cars ahead of you, and using a weapon that fires to the left or right would play significantly different from the existing weapons. - Melee weapons in general. There is the bumper as sort of automatic weapon, but apart from that, everything is ranged and/or delayed, there is nothing that lets me drive up to someone and hit a button to smash him. The shotgun comes close because it's only effective at close range, but it's... not that good/interesting. - Maybe it's also an option to make the direction a weapon fires in switchable. I'm not talking about full 360 degree rotation, but e.g. if we could mount the Gatling Gun backwards before we start a race then that would also play completely different from other weapons.
Has anyone figured out how much fame it takes for the last 2 fame achievements? .... They are the only ones I haven't gotten.
Seems to have dropped to $2.99, although it's at this moment still being modified and I wasn't yet able to purchase it.

We're hesitant to announce the actual totals because while God of all Gods is achievable (I have it unlocked and I'm #1 on the fame leaderboard -- you can see how i'm addicted to this game and happy that I work on something I love myself), The 42 definitely isn't. We're going to be adjusting the amount of fame needed on that one in the future.
Cripes! The last 15 posts were on the pricing issue. Isn't anyone even aware that this is always a probability happening to any game by now? This topic should have it's own thread to stop cluttering up people interested in the game itself. Ok about the game. I'm still swaying on this. Does the controls get confusing when the car is looping around the track? I've played Reckless Racing alot and find myself still turning in the opposite direction on a curve at times. Although the controls are different just wondering if this game has the same confusion of sorts.
