Well i'm still loving this. Must admit i ' cheat' and race the Pit track tons as its an easy one. Some of the other ones i still seem to get a bit 'ahem' lost ! At the moment i'm 'God' in the game and i've got the top car, all the weapons, just going through now trying to complete the other games (at 82%). Good to beat up the bosses after getting beaten up myself by them for ages but now i'm all-powerful so a few rockets and Duke Nukem is no more ! Well worth the money, had a lot of fun with it and the update looks great. Personally had no problems with data wipes on mine
I'm still on 4.2 but I'm upgrading to 4.3 soon. Hopefully that along with your updates will fix everything because it is certainly a really good game.
I've never had all data wiped, but I've had the game forget parts of it. The first time I completed a marathon challenge, I got the achievement but recently I checked my stats and it said 0 marathon challenges completed, I had to do another boring reckless racing clone with better controls for 42 laps to get 100%. (Yes, I love the controls in DR, sue me.) Earlier today when I started the game, several achievement notices popped up again. I had all of them (I'm only missing four, I would recognize those). I don't know if this had any effect on the saved state. Unrelated to missing data, I also don't seem to get the "spectrum of pain" achievement despite having at least 5 kills with every weapon (hundreds with some, hehe).
My guess at this point is that they are waiting until the first update when they get more promo codes. It would be really nice if they let us know what is going on though, since it doesn't even seem like how they are contacting/getting the info is consistent. Again, this is disappointing overall, but I am patient and don't really mind having to wait, but the lack of info is frustrating.
Yep! I would guess you should have yours soon as well. I will now be able to post impressions and help put this topic back on...topic.
Are there any good combat-oriented racers out there someone can recommend that are compatible with a 2G? Was disappointed to see this doesn't support it (but understand that life moves on, even if I can't afford to upgrade).
Still haven't gotten mine, i responded on twitter on their wall (didn't give out my info there) and then they directed me to an e-mail and i e-mailed there and still no response...
I played for an hour or two today - this game is AWESOME! I've only come in first place once so far, and I DON'T CARE! It's just so much fun racing and blowing stuff up that I feel like coming in first isn't the main goal (though it's definitely nice). The intro is great, and I love the idea of picking up parts to unlock weapons and cars - this makes it feel a bit like AutoDuel, one of my favorite top down driving games. I've got a couple of questions for anyone and requests for the devs. Questions: -What's the difference between a marked race and a starred race? I assume the slashes/stars above a race indicate its difficulty, but what do the stars mean? -Is there any rhyme or reason to the selection of races? Or are they all chosen at random? -How are challenges different besides sometimes having preset weapons or other special settings? Is that it, or is there something else? Requests: -I would love to see a 2nd weapon to attach, so you could have one up front and one in the back, or two up front or two in the back. -A "special" item to attach would be cool - for example, you could unlock and choose between Aim Assist (attempts to aim weapon at nearest target, but it's not 100% accurate), GPS/radar (gives you info about the road ahead and where enemies are), a rechargeable shield that absorbs some damage until it runs out of charge (you use money to recharge it like you do weapons), and others -More weapons: spiked wheels (for doing damage to cars next to you - though this could just be another weapon to acquire rather than a special), oil slick, smoke screen (yes, I was a fan of Spy Hunter too , laser/energy beam (need charging with money, just like ammo based weapons), EMP (briefly disables a car, but does no damage), plus of course all of the other weapon ideas we all gave before... -Some arena maps - no racing, but instead other types of games, such as the standard deathmatch/last man standing, kill the man with the ball (or whatever), team deathmatch, etc. Despite all of these requests, I think the game already comes with a decent amount of content/features and a great level of polish. Finally, thank you for the game code!! Looking forward to future updates!
I'm glad you like the game! I'll answer your questions the best I can, thanks for all the ideas as well, we are considering all kinds of new stuff later on. In the next update we have a new car, new weapon and a laser sight, in my opinion, totally awesome! -The marked races are "normal" races with changing difficulties, like you guessed. The stars are challenges, they give completion rate, fame and resources and of course variation. -The races are random, however you get more participation bonus from hard tracks like rift and refinery. -The challenges are meant to be something different, so we thought about all kinds of different scenarios we'd like them to have. Also, like said above, they give you bonuses. Hope these answers are good enough for you -Jussi ps. I'd like to say that I am really happy that we got you your game, same goes for the others as well. The whole gifting process is a pain in the butt, I'm glad it got resolved. I'll reply all the people involved when I have time.
I have got to 100% completion, but haven't raced or beaten Duke Nukem. Anyone know how I can race against him? Is there a particular race that he appears in? Thanks
Thanks for sorting out the gift codes, just tried it and I love it! The only problem is that my left thumb is hurting from playing. XD
I do as well. More than almost any other game on this platform! About the only thing (apart from online multiplay) I wish for, are arenas for deathmatches/arena combat (no racing, just last man standing combat). The mechanics and the controls are SO well suited for it, and once multiplayer arrives, it would expand the scope of peer-to-peer matches sconsiderably. Is this something we might see in Death Rally?
The game is awesome, enjoyable and looks amazing! One thing, no matter what difficulty I am on, the speed of my car, and how far infront I am ahead of all the other racers, the opponents will ALWAYS end up being right on my ass or will end up infront of me. I got two nitro boosts consecutively and ended up literally about half a lap in front of every other racer, it is annoying.
Can anyone help me with an achievement - I am trying to get the "Spectrum of pain" achievement but having no luck. I checked the stats and it shows all weapons have registered kills (I even went to a marathon race and killed someone using only the spiked bumpers!) but the achievement won't unlock. Any ideas?
