Key question here...are these purchases stored anywhere? If I need to restore my installation or move onto a new device will all purchases be lost?
I agree with you on this point...at some point in the future for this game I should create a "Skill Score" which uses some algorithm to calculate a single value which takes in to account all of your statistics and rewards people who have higher kdr's over more games. This way your score goes up as you get a higher k/d ratio and as your win more games than you lose.
Yes, all of your purchases will be stored persistently on our online servers (including IAP's), and your account can be used on any device when you log in with your game center account. You can even play on multiple devices with the same account at the same time, and in the same game if you feel like it.
That's the kind of developer response we always hope for, but rarely get A Skill Score would be a great addition (though I'd still like to view detailed stats for k/d and w/l ratio, plus xp over time (expressed as xp/hour [or minute, day, etc]), and would be the first stat I'd ever look at. Savage 2, a brilliant competitive multiplayer title that is now sadly nearly defunct, actually used the simple xp over time formula for their Skill Factor, and while it caused some problems at first (different classes had different ways of gaining xp, resulting in early imbalances), it evened out as time passed, and actually became a reasonably trustworthy measure of player skill in the long run. (One thing the Savage 2 devs discovered early was that including match wins and losses in skill factor was a big mistake, as the best player can be dragged down by a team of uncooperative allies.)
Will The iap money will be able to be earned at a somewhat reasonable difficulty, because some games it's way to hard to earn?
Yeah same here! I've been looking forward to playing this for about 3 months now! Anyways, I'm about to go into SPECULATION MODE!!! Spoiler But the reason I said that was from the information posted in the thread about the IAP getting rejected the first time: [THIS IS SPECULATION] Now, I'm thinking that it got rejected the first time because of this example: Pistol A unlocks at 500 currency Pistol B unlocks at 1000 currency Pistol C unlocks at 2500 currency Pistol D unlocks at 5000 currency Say you start out will 500 currency to unlock your first gun. Now, after playing for a few days you unlock Pistol A,B, and C. But then, something comes up and you are not able to play for a week!! So in order to say inline with all of the other players, you decide to buy IAP. Now, for this example, say that your currently at 4100 currency, and you already own every other gun in the game but the last one. Also, you can only buy IAP for 1000 currency at a time [AGAIN, THIS IS SPECULATION ONLY THIS IS NOT REALLY IN THE GAME] So when you do end up buying the IAP, you end up with 5100 currency then subtract 5000 for Pistol D and your left with 100 currency with nothing to spend it on. +the fact that you can still "buy" currency. So yeah, Thats my speculation on why it was rejected, and why i fell like it will be rejected again (AGAIN, THIS IS ONLY SPECULATION) Hopefully though, I'm wrong because I really want to play this game! Hopefully I avoided confusing anybody by using enough disclaimers!
That's exactly what I was thinking. It seems to be the only logical reasoning for rejecting it. I just hope it doesn't end up like something along the lines of Overkill, where it just becomes a ploy to get you to spend tons on IAP to get anything useful.
It would be sweet if the final kill in a multiplayer round was shown in slow-mo to all the players. Kind of like in CoD.
It would also be cool after every match there is a mvp, and the mvp would get more xp/credits/currency than everyone else. The MVP would be based on stuff like most kills and least deaths or something like that. Or most production to help his team win.
Yeh that'd be sweet too. It could be different for each game mode, (capture the flag -> most flag captures/returns, Team Deathmatch -> most kills...)
Im kinda hoping this isn't going to turn out like gunbros..not that I dislike gunbros at all, I am a big fan. Just seems like there are enough games exactly like it out there. Itd be nice if it was something like a set price so at least I know I wont have to spend a stupid amount of $ on in-game currency, YA DIG?
I think you will find this far different from Gun Bros regardless of pricing. Its set up more lik COD/Counterstrike style multiplayer. (but dual stick of course)
Kinda of like the 2D Counterstrike with more visual focused aspect and decreased game speed. Unlike 2D Counterstrike it's pretty fast paste but in the trailer of Deadlock, you see the person pasting themself when walking. I keep checking the app store the last few days to see if this will be released. D=
