I don't think they answered if there will be multiplayer. They also said more info would be given around E3...
More info was given at e3. The game was primarily announced at e3. They just happened to share a lot of that info here as well. They also did say that at the moment there is no multiplayer for it, that it will have online social elements, upgrades and challenges.
Where did you stumble upon this? Ign? It would've been helpful if madfinger had at least posted some links to all this for us instead of just videos.
Most of it is in the press release for the game or on Madfingers home page or on their Facebook page. Check the coming soon on their homepage. They are also very active on Facebook, but equally active here. Not very active on either lately though, very busy I would guess. Edit. I think I may have been a bit unclear in the first post. I should say that no multiplayer or coop has been mentioned, announced, hinted at or implied. The only online elements that they have mentioned are social, weapon upgrades, character upgrades and cross country leaderboard competition. Generally any question of online multiplayer has been side stepped and routed to Deadzone not being finished yet and the servers not up and running yet for that so therefore no servers ready for a multiplayer element on this yet. Plus any mention of the game has only centred on campaign elements. There was a couple of posts in answer to questions about multiplayer/coop on Facebook page that read along the lines of "not yet" but they appear to be gone. Short answer, I think the multiplayer of Shadowgun will be their big online game and I don't think, just yet, that this will have it because of the wall of silence on it.
Multiplayer is almost always a vital component of zombie games like this. L4D, COD Zombies, Dead Island, Dead Rising, etc all have co-op. Heck, even the new Dead Space and RE5 have co-op (which I personally believe they shouldn't).
Hi Guys/Gals.. Please excuse about lack of updated here, but we are very busy with final testing.. Release day is very close Please dont forget that we are small indie company and we cannot implement all features which you want( and we want also) This will be our first game, where we plan a lot of updates and build game several times bigger during updates.. I cannot promise you MP now, because I dont want to do same mistake as with Shadowgun. But we love Coop in Mp games Btw, its good to like our facebook pages, because we are more active there Best Marek
Thanks Marek. The fact the game will get updates that will make it bigger will be enough for most I think. Looking forward to that very close release date.
I don't play a lot of multiplayer games, but I agree that it does somehow enhance a zombie game, particularly with co-op. And after enjoying Call of Mini: Zombies on iOS, I would love to play something like Dead Trigger with my zombie-killing pals.
Rerember Marek to keep the iPad at a lower resolution to get all the effects to work I would rather have a lower resiltuion with all the effects over a super high resolution with no effects what so ever. Gameloft made that same mistake on NOVA 3 no special effects are present due to tue high resolution and I hope other mobile gaming companies take a lesson from that not to use a full resiltuion because if you use a low resiltuion than we can look better than the Tegra and possibly be on par with consoles. Unless its a 2D game then you may use retina display but I think all 3D ganes should avoid using retina display and go more for the candy eye effects.
Took the words right outta my mouth. Exactly. Please do this, though I doubt if this isn't already the plan then you can't change in fit this build.
Marek, Well I can almost be sure that this game will be at the top of the charts, amazing graphics. Hopefully with all the sales of this game, you guys will implement a Co-op in the future. It can only improve sales because Co-op is awesome when it comes to zombies !!
Now thats the way to do it. That tells me two things: 1/ the unity engine is awesome, 2/ you guys really know how to optimise and make a great game. Paint me impressed because for the effects to work, I thought it would have to be at ipad 2 resolution. I'm glad I was wrong about that and it is impressive that ye can and are willing to maximise to such a level.
If you can do that and maintain a stable framerate, I hereby declare you the optimization gods. I think I'm going to watch the trailer again and feel smug about my retina gaming for the first time
I wonder I there's an unlock system or upgrade system similar to desert zombie (which I hates due to IAPs), but since this is premium a point/money system for upgrades, perks, etc would be petty cool, and up the replayability of the game by a lot since there's no co-op. If not in this build maybe in an update?
You guys are great , after all is said and done , shadowgun is still the best looking IOS game . Can we have a sequel please after you finish with dead trigger ?
