I haven't had to grind once in Real Racing 3. The key to success in that game is having a large friends list via GameCenter and beating friends in races to earn bonus cash for each friend defeated. Once you beat a friend they get told via the in game mail that you beat their time and they can press one button to go back to that track and attempt to beat you (and all the other friends). Do so, big bonus. I'm currently embroiled in a superb TSM battle with Al Bert 42. I beat him on a few tracks, the game tells me, I go back and beat him, he returns the favour and it's not only great fun but it gives a means to make money out with the tracks you've yet to complete.
You do realise almost everyone on here who plays RR3 added one another to GameCenter? I have 138 folk, 99% of whom are from here.
Fair point. Now, I know we should be talking about zombies, but I'd like to draw your attention to my 650th post.
lol.. yeah, it was our design feature.. but not to force you buy something.. but taste game with great weapon first, then start it from scratch.. something like in God Of War III, for example.. its interesting how this feature is ok in premium game, but in free to play is paywall ?
So you spend 5-6 hours with it without paying anything ? And you are not satisfied ? I know a lot of premium games for 6 USD for mobile or 60 USD on consoles/pc with shorter gameplaye anyway, in DT2 we will keep you entertain for longer period definitely
I think if being honest, the motivation is slightly different. Besides the reason for God of War III was because you'd already maxed out in the previous two games, you started with what you left off with and then lost it for the new version, otherwise you wouldn't have had a game. Still, suspect design and could have been handled better. I have no real opinion about DT's usage and people are free to do what they want, do what works but just keep justifications real.
I'd have to agree with that. I honestly don't see what the problem is with that mechanic anyway. Most should be able to see it as a motivation to get better weapons, an integral part of any shooter. Seeing it as a way to force players to pay is utterly ridiculous cosidering how easy getting gold or cash is in the game anyway. Far easier than any other F2P shooter I've played. Especially considering Tapjoy gave loads of gold. Its very confusing why this annoyed people because if it was in a premium game, as it is in many, there'd be no problem, it'd just be seen as it is, a motivating game mechanic typical of a lot of games with a particular type of storyline.
I agree with your statements. There is a heck of a lot of gameplay available playing for free. Just playing in the arena itself is fun, heck just playing the casino all the time was worth my original buck. But man, I love the alien gun. Thanks for that. I sure hope in DT2 there is an alien gun. Is there? I know it is hard to get high scores with it, but man for fun and a Terminator type style feeling, please have the Alien Gun in DT2!!!
Hah! Naw, I bought the game when it first came out, and spent maybe $3 after that. Besides, while games like Syndicate and Modern Warfare 2 are short in single-player length, it's the co-op and multiplayer that keep people coming back after the initial 6 or so hours.
