There will be hard currency.. I was saying that players will be able to find/unlock everything without spending any golds
A paywall? Like DT1 when you lost your shotgun in the cutscene and have nothing but a pistol? DT1 had a bigger paywall than Real Racing 3. In fact, I've yet to spend a penny on Real Racing 3 and I'm level 47 and have some 20 cars. If you manage to anywhere near match Real Racing 3 as a freemium game you'll be doing well.
Cool, thanks, plus there was always alot of ways in the past to get money and gold like tapjoy and the casino.
I don't think you understand the meaning of "paywall". It means "you cannot progress until you spend money or grind for hours", which you certainly did in Real Racing 3. Dead Trigger? I don't recall having that issue. I enjoyed the game enough to where I felt that because it wasn't clamoring for my money, it deserved some repayment for how fun it was. Sure, it was simple, but simple doesn't mean not fun.
So dual currency is a no go this time around? Interesting. Double negative there. Not to turn this into a DT1 rehash, but simplistic gameplay generally works well in certain genres - the best puzzlers and strategy games typically build on simplistic concepts to create an accessible but challenging experience. While shooters are inherently repetitive to a degree, the best in the genre compensate for this by adding interesting and varied maps, game-changing situations, different modes and enemies, etc. Bottom line? Simplistic gameplay brings out the inherent repetitiveness of shooters - and that was really the problem with DT1.
I'm well aware of this. I stopped playing the game maybe 5 or 6 hours in. I had my fun with it, and I was done. But this discussion is not about the quality of the game, or the repetition of it; it's about the paywall, of which it is generally agreed upon that there is none. In fact, you were incorrect about your earlier statements: in the original release of the game, back when it was $1, you started off with an M16, and got downgraded to a pistol. Now in the final version, you start off with an UZI, and work your way up. It seems minor, but it's a significant change that they made to remove the paywall. Meanwhile, everyone here (but you, apparently) hates Real Racing 3. I'm sorry, but most of us just find EA's treatment of the franchise appalling.
RR3 has no more of a paywall then DT unless you just suck (never get gold) and make stupid car purchases.
...That's a paywall. If you need to pay because you made bad decisions, that is a paywall. If you need to play in a restricted manner to avoid paying, that is a paywall. Anyway, let's drop the subject, because RR3 is not Dead Trigger 2.
With that logic a lot of games, freemium or not, including DT, have paywalls. You don't. Having to play well in order to advance properly is not a restriction.
No clue where you got the from. I recognize the financial rewards of the pay model and try my best not to instantly dislike all F2P models. Just because I wasn't a part of the flaming in the RR3 thread doesn't mean I didn't have my problems with the game. You brought it up, bud.
You would be mistaken. It was this guy who brought it up. Captain Obvious and his sidekick, Cynicism Lad!
