Preliminary. For pr and promotion purposes. Final one would probably be tweaked stylistically but keep a very similar format to the first one. As this one obviously does. But can probably expect some minor detail changes.
Here's an article that explains the concept pretty well. http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/iPad/Dead+Trigger+2/news.asp?c=51652 It is part of their global socialisation aspect which would require online to be up to date and for small content related stuff. As well as being a sometimes unfortunate necessity in order to prevent iap hacking. Its also worth noting I've seen plenty of mention of single player (as in non coop) which could make it possible for their to be an offline mode added at some stage or in the pipeline. Madfinger is very proactive to feedback so I'm sure it'll be discussed at some stage.
Wow, thanks for all the info folks. Guess I gotta my suit out for the inauguration ceremony as President of the Dead Trigger 2 Defense Squad. I hope I did a good job as past President of the Dead Trigger Defense Squad by converting the old Dead Trigger thread from a place of hate, to one of humor and happiness (hehe, well I tried). At least it was fun reading on the john. So yeah, I look forward to this, hope it is as awesome as it looks, too bad I couldn't have played it at E3, would have loved to. Madfinger, impress us, or my job here will be tough. So long, From the Connector President of the Dead Trigger Defense Squad!
Sorry guys, DT2 will not be released 8/1, too much work still.. You know, DT2 have to be better then DT1, o we changed a lot of things to make it true Free To Play game, improved gameplay, added a lot of new features, etc.. Meanwhile you can try Shadowgun: Deadzone on facebook https://apps.facebook.com/shadowgun-deadzone/
So DT2 will require internet connection? The first DT at first did not require connection. Why did they have to update it?
Thanks for that update. Although we would like to see the game as soon as possible, I'm glad to hear about the amount the amount of work you guys are putting in to get it right before letting it out the door. It bodes very well for it being a massive improvement. Thanks again. Check out the article I linked on the previous page. It explains it pretty well.
DT2 will require internet connections because : Everything is stored on cloud Players stats, player progress, game definition, game settings, etc Seamless multiplatform support Play on PC/FB/MAC, mobile.. no matter what you are using, you can continue.. Global features Even singleplayer game, your actions is affecting world. You fight to liberate cities, fulfill goals received form Anti-Zombie resistance. All together and get big rewards Global news We will reveal background story through radio messages, show interesting news about your friends, region, etc... Chat in menu will be chat, so you talk with you friends or with other people... Anti hack Nobody can hack data and cheat leaderboards or leagues (in future updates ) At least not so easily + some other features, which I dont remember or they will came later in future updates.. Best Marek R.
^The Global Feature sounds cool... Kinda like Infinity Blade's Clash Mobs, but i think it's a much better fit in a worldwide zombie apocalypse theme. The Radio messages and news sounds like it's isnt just news bits, but also contribute to the game's atmosphere. Game is shaping up well Marek, cant wait to play this!
No, its not. What would be a very poor decision would be to remove all the new features he has listed so that iPod touch and iPad wifi only users can play offline. As people can still get online over wifi on iPod touch and iPad wifi only, I don't see the problem. I have plenty of wifi only devices and never have a problem connecting to one. Without the new features it would make it the same game as the last one. Which if that's what you want, just play the last one. I, however, am all for progress and innovation. The interactive element (that requires online) looks to be a significant improvement on the previous version.
