I didn't really like DT,too. I prefer checkpoints after checkpoints rather than having a brief map with missions on it, it kinda ruins the gameplay experience to me.
No, there are actually quite a few people who think the game is mediocre. It's a gold-plated turd, to put it aptly. Pretty to look at, but pointless and uninteresting in the end.
Hahaha! I know you guys are just there, was counting on you guys to reply to that. I know DT was a bit too repetitive, but i had a blast playing it, and still do occasionally, and i still find some fun in it. The iOS scene has tons of repetitive stuff to be found, it just so happens DT is one of those that does it better than most. Take any survival arena dual stick shooters for instance... DT is exactly that, in a different perspective. I would love to see larger maps and a full blown story out of DT2 though.
I am so happy! I just unlocked the nade launcher in DT, and I only need to get the minigun... I can't wait for this game!!!!
Yeah, Dead Trigger is definitely one of my guilty pleasures, and I'm definitely getting Dead Trigger 2, freemium or not.
Let's just say that the only thing impressive about DT 1 was the graphics. Call me a hater, but it's absolutely true.
Actually, yeah. I just realized that I liked DT because of the graphics. Come to think of it, if it wasn't because of the graphics it would pretty much be meh. I'm not a hater. I loved that game once.
E3 demo on the NVIDIA Shield: http://androidspin.com/2013/06/12/e3-2013-dead-trigger-2-gameplay-on-the-nvidia-shield/
The gameplay pretty much the same as the first one to me. :l Still no sprint ability, the zombies model looks just the same as the previous, the gore effect still not present(more bloodddddd please), and i really hope what just shown in the video above is just the arena base because it looks really small.
http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/iPad/Dead+Trigger+2/news.asp?c=51652 Unfortunately DT2 will be based on auto-fire mechanic: "Youll still have the virtual twin-stick set-up for movement and camera control, but youll fire automatically when the cross-hairs target an enemy, making the game more about fluid movement than tight aiming."
''You’ll still have the virtual twin-stick set-up for movement and camera control, but you’ll fire automatically when the cross-hairs target an enemy, making the game more about fluid movement than tight aiming. Of course, other control options will be available in the settings'' I think the auto fire will be the default controls but the classic controls will be available also.
What? That seems utterly stupid considering the first one nailed that aspect. I hope that's an option because if it's not then I won't even bother downloading it. Edit: Just saw Ironsam's post, I am slightly relieved now
When i first read this interview i was concern too till i came to the last line of the paragraph where he said about the more options... I am not against for every developer to try new ways for controls... I am against to making them the ONLY one... So if classic controls are there every new experiment and more options are welcome
Auto-fire? Wow... Little kid holding his phone and the caption reads: "Look mom! I'm so great at killing zombies!".... - it's sad, but this is how I imagine how a DT(2) player looks like. Auto-fire is pretty pathetic, especially in games where headshots deal more damage. Example: Good old Online Sniper League. There was some kind of a device that you could buy that auto-shot enemies. Any good OSL player will know though that the device was useless and that only noobs were buying it. Any better player aimed directly for the heads. Auto-fire is just another obvious proof that DT is aiming towards a specific audience; casual gamers.
I don't quite know where the surprise is coming from there. The whole platform is primarily (with some notable exceptions) aimed at casual gamers. Anyway, its already been said it is NOT the only option. The more traditional shoot button is also present. And, for that matter, auto fire actually works in World War Z. By including a casual gamer auto fire method, they are simply covering their bases but lets be very clear, its not the only option, a fire button is included in the options. As is aim down sights for the fire button option (but not for dual weapons, wouldn't work). Surely there is nothing wrong with targeting a casual gamer audience on a platform primarily (TA users aside) made up of casual gamers. Its just sensible development and marketing. Of course we want "hardcore"ish games on iOS as well but there is other games (too few in my opinion) that fill that bracket. And freemium does appeal to casual players much more and we do know it will be freemium. It is worth reading the full content of the article to get a proper perspective rather than focusing on the one single point in relation to the control method.
