Wow, that is sooooo touching. Makes me want to say this since I agree with you both... I ❤ Dead Trigger! Maybe!
Group hug you guys! Ironically how they share acronym, but one DT has nothing to do with the other DT.
I still am trying to figure out how dead trigger is a tech demo while minigore isn't. They are virtually the same thing (I'm talking about number 1, but then again number 2 is nearly thr same anyway).
The logic makes sense. The graphics show what the tech can do but it feels like it's not a full game and more like a demo. Epic citadel is a great example of a tech demo on the appstore. Dead trigger doesn't really fit the criteria of being called a tech demo but the only redeeming quality of the game is it's pretty graphics so I see where people are coming from saying it's a tech demo.
I think the whole tech demo debate is a waste of time, main focus of DT is on micro transactions, not showing off their own proprietary engine due to it being third party (Unity).
Dead Triger wasn't created just to show off fancy graphics either, it's a full game, like it or not, Like September said, it's a 3rd party engine, why would MFG make a tech demo for another company, when there's a couple unity engine tech demos already? I think that proves again the some guys here do use the term "tech demo" to pejoratively downgrade Dead Trigger from a "game" label, cause there's more evidence that points out that there are other games that deserve that "tech demo" tag better than Dead Trigger. Not a tech demo. I think you have the winning point here sir.
Ok guys, I'm beat, if you want to keep indiscriminately denigrating most games "tech demos" with no back up what so ever or at least some common sense (Which is what you're doing everytime you call Dead Trigger a tech demo), be my guest. I'm out until the game's out, good day to y'all.
In my opinion, tech demos are when devs spend too much time on the games graphics compared to story, or gameplay Dead Trigger, in my opinion, isn't really a tech demo in my opinion. When most people think of a zombie-centified game, they want a massive, heart-warming/shattering story, and since Dead Trigger didn't have one, it caused many to call it a tech demo This game actually has a lot more content than most of the games that you see on the app store. The survival arenas, the different missions that you can retry to best high-scores, there is so much more to do...Fruit Ninja has only 3 gameplay modes, Jetpack Joyride has 1, Temple Run (and pretty much every other endless runner) has 1, Slender Rising has 2, Plague Inc (technically) has 1...Dead Trigger may be far feom perfect, but to rephrase: "If Dead Trigger classifies as a tech demo, then 80% of the app store also does" By the way, in my opinion, story>looks And with that, I retire to my tent...you can't attack me because you will be stopped by the kittehs adorableness, and then you'll be crushed by an Iron Golem
The haterz will always hate, it's in their nature. You all know that they will be the first ones in line to download Dead Trigger 2. How ironic life is...
I'm pretty sure the sole purpose of dead trigger wasn't to show off its graphics. The purpose of it was to make a zombie shooter.
They work with the feedback from fans, so they will proly focus on story more. And they have more experience with the genre now, we'll see but I do have high hopes Nothing really stood up in Crysis? The battle suite alone was amazing! The storyline, well maybe, but it was put together real nice, at least the first part of the series.
I wasn't a hater of DT at start. I got it day 1 and then realized it's a game thats all about graphics. I'm not gonna say anything about DT2 yet, but if it's just like DT1 with some different 3D models, then I'm gonna hate it too.
