I hope Dead Trigger 2 has new and exciting gameplay. I hope that a bowl of ice cream will suddenly materialize in my lap. ... There is about as much a chance of one happening as the other.
I honestly think this game is going to blow Dead trigger out of the water. I think Madfinger's reasoning to make a sequel was to give it a real storyline. Co-op or no Co-op this game is going to be fun to play.
Ohhhh...... So you're a Senior Member once again... Look whoz been crying to his mammma.... Hope you're happy now. Remember, the grass is not always greener on the other side. And that sometimes what you wished for, is not a bowl of roses. Congratz on your promotion! How will this affect your membership in the Dead Trigger Defense Squad?
You and others seem to equate some of the repetitive gameplay to being a tech demo. I too agree with you all that it is somewhat repetive and it would be nice to have a little story, but these two things are game flaws that have nothing to do with technology. Why is this game a tech demo? Cause it's got nice graphics? Cause it has rock solid framerates? Cause it has a lot of updates with constant upgrades? That it went through a freemium convert? It is a fairly complete game too with many modes that work fine, and a lot of other features which other games do not have. There are sooooooo many games with cool graphics that have flaws like Space Hunter Sandra, Batman, Avengers and others. Does this make them tech demos too? It seems fair if you state what you dislike about the game, or that it's not worth downloading, but I still don't quite understand how it qualifies as a tech demo. Nova 3 is much more of a tech demo as my kind of joking posts of the past reflect. You can use a Gameloft wireless bluetooth joystick, it supports airplay widescreen hdmi tv, you can use you ipad as a console, and it has much more ambitious graphics than even Dead Trigger has. In fact, in this configuration, I would call it a console game, cause it looks so awesome on my hdmi tv. This game stretches the boundaries of what an ipad can do, not Dead Trigger. I really think you all are not using tech demo correctly, you are using it as a bad label, a tech demo is a demonstration of technology, not a fully functional game. Tell me why Dead Trigger would qualify under this technology definition. I sure hope its not just the usual, great graphics, great framerates, but no story and repetitive. If you use this label than half the games on itunes probably would qualify as a tech demo.
Senior Member>I ❤ Dead Trigger. That's all I have to say. The difference between Dead Trigger and NOVA 3 is that N3 is fun while DT isn't. NOVA 3 has a fully voice acted story (albeit dumb), dramatically varying environments, gameplay that can get pretty hard, lots of different enemies with varying tactics and features about 50x more content. Oh, and I forgot to mention multiplayer. And the better graphics are a big bonus, too, but they don't technically count towards it being fun. Once you've played DT for 20 minutes, you've seen pretty much all it has to offer. The only things left are weapons, only buyable with IAP currency. The zombies have zero variety and look all the same and there isn't anything interesting there except the graphics. Hence, DT is a tech demo, not a game.
Well, for what it's worth, I ❤ You, still even though you are no longer a card carrying member of the Dead Trigger Defense Squad. You had me in agreement til your last line above. All of the comments you make are just about DT being repetitive, inapps, or great graphics. No new tech at all in this game. So you're concluding line still doesn't make sense. Under your definition, there are probably over 10,000 games that would qualify as a tech demo. Just because you like a game does not mean a game is not a tech demo, it almost seems like that is how you are reasoning with your final line. This game to me reminds me of Batman, GREAT graphics, fun for a short time, but in the end repetive and kind of the same old same old. Great for the short haul, but not a game one can play for hours. In no way, would I consider this game a tech demo, but to me, under your definitions, this would be a great candidate. Would you consider Batman to be a tech demo too??? Of how some titles are even more shallow than DT, of how some titles have less content that DT, of how some titles, unlike Dead Trigger have been used to actually demonstrate technology . Calling DT a tech demo is dismissing the 3 pages of arguments. The Alien gun totally makes it feel like a Terminator type game, but it does seem kinda whimpy though. But mad fun. The casino is great too, very smooth, and you win all the time, too bad Las Vegas isn't like this. Kind of got into a habit just to log in once a day, just to play and get a lot of coins. Probably play the game maybe once every three days for about 7 minutes or so, so not heavily played, but it's stayed on my system due to it not being too big, and as you say, I kinda like it.
