If you are a Silent Hill fan (like most of the guys on our team) you will fall in love with and specially the storyline. Is not only about conspiracy viral thing, it is more than that, pretty deep, it will simply blow you away! But sorry, i cannot comment too much about the storyline. :p
Here is small part of the intro:
I was saying to myself, while bashing on the centre’s door and looking nervously over my shoulder to see where they were at. They were so fast and only a hundred meters away. There was 3 of them, closing in rapidly. The gate swung open to let me in, and it shut violently behind me.
There are around 50 of us cloistered in the little clinic. People were beginning to discuss the possibility of fighting back, while the others were looking at how to eradicate the virus. That’s how it begun, in the tiny waiting room of the Fallen Fall clinic, now a fully fledged refugee’s camp, the resistance started. This morning, 3 more survivors made their way into the camp. Scientists, who claimed to have found a way of destroying the virus. Still in white blouse, covered in blood that wasn’t theirs, they were transporting multiple boxes containing the virus, destined to be use during our last hope mission, called “Dead Strike”. It’s in this occasion that we received this little black case, containing a sample of the B1 virus, the scourge of humanity. The objective is to get to the hospital north of the city to develop a vaccine with the survivors, including some doctors, which are barricaded over there. The news had the effect of a bomb on all of us. Nobody even thought of retorting anything. Some of us even started crying.
Couple of hours later, everyone was ready, carrying his box, and some weapons that we found.
We went our way in groups of four, some of us staying behind in order to heal the wounded in case if other survivors would come.
Me, I’m with Bob, the elder of my group, he really was a big guy, Eva a really young beautiful lady who seemed familiar to me and Sam who seemed to be the youngest of the group, but who had strong facial features. For my part, my name is John, I was a journalist, this why I am writing this diary. Our enemies were the total opposite of us, humans. They were aggressive, being nothing but hunger and pain, and they were fearless of death...

That's all i can say about the storyline, :p

The game will run quite fine on your first gen iDevice. The game will ralelly slowdown on 1st iDevice: Eg, if the screen is full of zombies and you are firing with the flamethrower(only this one), it will drop the fps to about 10-13fps for 1-2 secs. But still playable.

The female character is a nurse, called Eva. She can heal herself better than any other survivor.

We already have a sequel (DeadStrike 2) in production (inside a hospital and out-side town). In fact, DeadStrike 2 will start were the first one will be left of... At the hospital. ;)
I will post a video later for Dead Strike 2 environments (inside the hospital). Btw they are fully finished and is nothing compared to DeadStrike1, it will blow you away, you will simply love it! The environments are pretty scary, creepy and well designed. However, this sequel will not be ready until spring 2010. We have few guys working hard on this one, so stay tuned for more!
Btw, i will start a new thread about DeadStrike 2 soon, to start getting early input from users and bring them to the game, what users really want. :)
    Regards,

    Cheers,

iPhone distribution models are not like PSP. On the PSP you have less competition, less games to play and they are quite expensive. But they are pretty well polished and most of the time fun.
Right now, theirs too much competition on the iPhone platform, wish means that if you wanna stay on the top 100, you have to bring something well polished, fun to play and pretty original. The age of iBeer and iFart is just over, the new games coming to the iPhone will simply be even and even better!

Controls look incredibly suspect, exactly the same kind of problem Ravensword had before they were fixed, and Ravensword isn't a run and gun game. You can still feel dread when facing one or two powerful enemies there and the controls weren't deliberately gimped.

This game could have easily been designed like a slow burn Silent Hill type game without turning the player into Sergent Price from Call of Duty, WITH proper controls. This is gonna be hell to play on a touchscreen.

In fact, the whole DeadStrike at first was a PC project, then we got the iPhone license and decide to port the game onto iPhone platform. But instead of creating the whole game (wish means more development time and of course more risk and cost) we decided to split it up. Huge projects on iPhone, right now is not a good idea because of the risk (too high) and the competition (too high). Splitting them up and lowering the price is the key.
The sequel will feature new gameplay mechanics, indoor and outdoor environments, puzzles, etc, similar as theses seen in Silent Hill and Resident Evil old school series.
I will start a new tread about DeadStrike 2 later, with images and videos when the first one came to App Store. ;)

yes agree 100% and thank you again for support us! :) we like your team

so we will wait for your great upcoming games! (the same dead strike or FPS games) i think iphone will beat psp till 2011 year but with new 3gs itouch 3g and new iphone 4g

apple is killing iphone 2g right now! and we just have only 1 enemy it's iphone 3g (hehe kidding :D)

but it's true for the future generation of iphone!

    anyway

sorry to ask this but dear tatoforever can you tell us how much is the size of game? (i think it should be about 200 mb) i know it's soon or impossible to answer it!
but Hope it's not a compressed game! cos we like big size like psp games :D (but as you said the 3gs version or better i say the new update is only for 3gs and ipod touch 3g/2g so it must be a big game )

Know what would be cool though, if you took this engine and made a Syphon Filter 2 type game.

The dev already said that the introductory sale price will be $1.99. Why are you whining over a buck?
If you think the game looks "SOOOOOOOO AWESOME," you should grateful that the dev is even offering a sale price at all!

Developers work hard on their games, and deserve to be compensated for their work. It's a shame that so many whiny cheapskates are too clueless to recognize that.

The first sequel is about 130MB compressed, don't remember exactly the size. It was at first more than 200MB, but we later compressed the textures to MBX powerVR compression to save almost half the size without any significant quality loss. Also compressed textures requires less Vram. Right now, you only have 20MBs of Ram for your running scenes and assets (the rest of your Ram is for the iPhone OSX). Obviously that's why every iPhone game is texture compressed. You don't have any other choice, unless your game is a tiny game. But don't worry, the 3GS and the new iPod Touch have lot of ram (256MB). They also have faster loading time, wish means that we will be able to bring more quality textures, sounds, assets to our upcoming games.

Am glad that you love our team.
    Cheers!

True, 100%. We could easily rise the price, as this kind of game really deserves a higher price. But we don't want that, we what to reach almost every single iphone gamer. Give them quality iphone games with a low price. And so, we support them, and they support us. ;)

Syphon Filter 2 was one of my favorite video games of all time, and it was pretty lengthy. I still remember parts of the game a decade later.

Perhaps there could be quality options and whatnot like Ravensword and every PC games? Granted, that might increase the size of the game.

That's very generous and gracious. I'd have easily concede to a price of more.

Anyways, I can't believe my dream is coming to the iDevice so quickly! This is just amazing. It's basically one of those games that I would LOVE - just LOVE - to see on the iDevice. Thank you and team for having the vision to conceive such a game. Even better is having multiplay implemented.

The level of details seems good to, having zombies wearing different clothes instead of all the same, and the surroundings seems good as well.

I'm just so excited to see this game I feel like rambling on!

    Hey guys,
Just to let you know, theses ho have newer iDevices with integrated speakers.
You better plug your headphones as the sounds on the game are fully 3D spatial. Woot!!! ;)
You will be able to listen where zombies are coming from. Playing the game with the iDevice speakers will be pretty difficult, so watch out! ;)
Only musics themes, ambient music and menus, character, inventory, etc are stereo ones.
So to get the best experience and immersion, play the game with headphones! :)

I just uploaded few videos from the next sequel already in production for the iphone platform, available by the end spring 2010! Btw, the game will be called Forgotten Memories (you will discovery later on why) and the story takes place exactly were you finish the first one ( DeadStrike ), at the hospital!

Btw, theses are just a few examples, we cannot leak all the floors and environments from the sequel sorry, just enough to give some taste of the kind of places that you will be in the next game! :)
    Enjoy!;)
Pc prototype version, environments showcase 1:

Now, take a look at the same environment (without shaders ) on iPhone.
It looks exactly the same, the only thing that changes are textures size, they were scaled down a bit.
Look at the flashlight - lighting quality. The game runs fine on older iDevices. ;)
