When you say controls, do you mean the original Silent Hill and Resident Evil which I found both a hassle. I hope you are referring to Silent Hill 2 and Resident Evil 4 controls
Yes that's fine for an FPS game, but for a third person cam one is quite an horror to walk in one direction and shoot to an other direction. It requires lots of movements on the screen with your fingers. I would like to (at least) have one button to shoot, so i can make two virtual sticks and shoot with that button. I hope futures ipod touch had some kind of PSP slide off buttons. PSP buttons, multi-touch screen, accelerometer = dream portable console. Cheers,
I know the solution: get the mini gun aim at the hordes then use one finger to hold fire, and the other to move the screen left to right WARNING: IF YOU DIE, IT WAS SINCE YOUR LUCK ISN'T AS GOOD AS IT SHOULD BE
Actually, I think you are making too much of the difference between an FPS and a TPS in this regard. You're still dealing with pretty much the same problem: how to change where the character is looking without moving his/her position -- and the incorporating a way to open fire. That problem has been solved in several ways. * a dual stick set up that fires with a quick tap of the right stick. * swipe to look with a dedicated fire button on the lower right hand corner. * auto-fire: gun opens up when an enemy is sighted. * tap-to-target: a quick tap at an enemy locks the target, tap anywhere to fire; a quick swipe unlocks. You can even make it specific to body parts. * auto-target: target reticule immediately snaps to the nearest target; tap to fire. Any of these solutions should allow the character to keep moving while firing without blocking the screen much with player fingers.
* a dual stick set up that fires with a quick tap of the right stick. This approach seems fine but will not work for all weapons. Think off flamethrower or chainsaw? * swipe to look with a dedicated fire button on the lower right hand corner. This will solve the problem but leads to a new one, you will be able to walk and shoot but not aim at the same time. * auto-fire: gun opens up when an enemy is sighted. This solution will remove some game challenge + leads to some new issues, what if you don't want to shoot a particular enemy on your sigh? * tap-to-target: a quick tap at an enemy locks the target, tap anywhere to fire; a quick swipe unlocks. You can even make it specific to body parts. We don't like the idea of putting your fingers in the middle of the screen for this kind of game. * auto-target: target reticule immediately snaps to the nearest target; tap to fire. This solution will remove some game challenge + leads to some new issues, what if you want to aim a different monster? Unless we got an extra physical button to fire, there's no perfect solution to this particular problem. Cheers,
For the flamethrower and chainsaw you could use one tap on right stick to start and one more to stop.
you could bribe apple to let you use volume buttons? orrrr make a cydia app that when applied hacks the controls and lets us use the volume button to shoot apple doesnt need to know
Hi guys, Theirs a price change for Dead Strike. Game price at launch with 43% off: 3.99$ US/Canada 2.99 European Union £2.39 UK This price list will remain as this until Dead Strike multiplayer update, coming late January 2010. Then price will rise up to 6.99$US. Theirs a couple of marketing's experts that suggest us this price change, as it justifies the first major update ( item pickups, exploration, open world city, etc, visual improvements, etc ). Hope you understand this decision. Cheers,
Frankly, I thought the price you suggested earlier was pretty crazy, unless the game was only a couple hours long (and even then I would have still thought it was underpriced).
sigh... i really want to buy it but i am out of money. cant support tatoforever. i feel really guilty. besides its almost christmas making it even more guiltier. christmas is a time for giving. i give u 3.99 and u give me an awesome game. sigh
The price is still pretty low for a great game, and will forgotten memories be the same price or more?
yah, i think you should make a separate thred for Forgotten Memories it's a different game and others who might not yet following this thread will know about that other game
Your pushing it. Everyone wants gamelofts new stuff as well so this might be too much. I'll still pick it up though.
