From what you're describing here, Forgotten Memories sounds a lot closer to Silent Hill than Dead Strike. That is excellent news. I'm sure that Dead Strike will be fun and engaging, and I'll definitely be picking it up. But Silent Hill -- and particularly Silent Hill II -- is the holy grail for me when it comes to horror gaming. People sometimes forget how little combat there is in the SH series: the games are much more about exploration, storytelling, and dread than they are about action. Great that you're putting your focus there on FM. If there's one thing I would ask, is that you make sure to spend as much time on the story as you do on the graphics. Silent Hill II would have made a great horror story in any medium. I hope that with Forgotten Memories you are striving for similar quality.
We have two super horror novel writers and of course they worked on Forgotten Memories storyline. The storyline and the game itself are purely fused and the main focus is psychological inner fears. Every horror fans will love it ( specially Silent Hill ones ). Cheers,
That's exactly what I wanted to hear. I'm definitely excited about Death Strike, but I can't wait for Forgotten Memories.
im glad u decide to take the story element seriously. imo story is the most important part of any horror game/ movie. I can't wait for this game now
Theirs few upcoming videos about Forgotten Memories. By the way, did you saw the first beta FM video? PC version: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel iPhone 3G version: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
have you guys thought about releasing it for the PC as well? you've already done all the work, just sell it
Yes, iPhone, PC and Mac. PC/MAC version will have better rendering graphics: Screen Space Ambient Occlusion, deferred rendering, all lights casting shadows, Normal/bums/parallax maps, specular and emisive maps too. Higher poly counts on characters. Texture projection, better particles effects, to name a few. However, the PC/MAC version will be released later, first version to come is the iPhone one. Cheers,
WOW! i really love you Dead Strike isn't out yet but the sequel is already done and another game is also in development now i really want to say WOW! mali
From what I can tell, you're making the exact games I've been waiting for. Silent Hill 2 is my all time favorite horror game and you're doing a great job at keeping that feel while adding your own thing to it. Will FM be multiplayer as well? I'd really love to see a video of multiplayer in action on DS if possible.
Right now FM is just a solo mode, but we are thinking on new gameplay experience with multiplayer, i cannot comment on this right now, cause is not quite defined this moment, i will get you back on this later one. We have new betas of Dead Strike that runs on our local servers ( wifi ). Again is a bit too soon to reveal any stuff about the multiplayer side of Dead Strike. Spec more info on this when Dead Strike came out. Cheers,
Fair enough. One last question...the controls seem like the Resident Evil controls. Are you able to walk and shoot at the same time?
Theirs a big issue with this (walk and shoot) control scheme on the iPhone. How can you walk in one direction and shoot in an other direction with two fingers? Is quite easy for a top down shooter but not for a fully 3rd cam perspective game. That's the current problem with iPhone games, no more than two fingers on screen or you wont be able to see anything. If iPhone had buttons like PSP is quite easy but that's not the case.
theres an app on cydia that lets you use the volume buttons to take photos, would apple allow devs to use the volume buttons as a shoot button? probably not but they really should.. it would solve a lot of problems
then how can you control the volume? home button? how would u control home button? your remote control?
Modern Combat, Eliminate, CoD: Zombies, Toon Warz all allow you to run in one direction and shoot in another. Frankly, I find their solutions more elegant and effective than anything I've used on the PSP. (Who actually likes aiming with the face buttons?)
Oh definetly, I had an idea like that a while back but I saw others had it to and apple wouldn't allow it.
