No, this doesn't look like L4D, but it does look good. Kinda reminds me of Infected for PSP.

I hope its more like silent hill than left for dead (because left for dead is not really survival horror). What kind of levels are there? like schools, hospitals, etc? I'm definitely going to buy it as soon as i saw the fog and silent hill like atmosphere

im liking how developers are raising the bar, soon i'll just sell my psp instead of letting it collect dust

Yes, this game was first a PC project, we scaled it down to first gen iDevices, so everybody can play the game, not just 3GS users.
We already have an early beta running pretty well, with improved meshes and animated models quality (2500 polys) and better textures res! More stuff on screen, up to 15 zombies on screen with out any lag. This version (1.2) will just came out after the multiplayer update, as a free update to all Dead Strike users!
So if the game detect any 3GS device or iPod touch 3G (32/64 BG) it will automatically load the quality ones models.

    This looks GREAT!
It looks like what "Silent Hill" for the iPhone should have been.

As a long-time Silent Hill fan, I absolutely love the dark misty streets, the eerie music, the whole creepiness factor. Others have commented on the graphics not looking as good as some other games, but I think they look fine. (The fact that they remind me of the graphics in Silent Hill 1&2 is a plus for me, not a drawback!)

I also like that one of the playable characters is female! :)
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will run OK on a first gen touch...

Believe me, you will not regret.
We have so much fun playing this game. When the multiplayer came out, you will like it even more! :)
    Cheers!

Its hard to see on the trailer, but yes, you stop zombies when shooting at them, for example, chainsaw stop them pretty well. Minigun will push zombies back, pistols too, but not as much as powerfull weapons.
Btw, this is the entire list of weapons:

    Beretta. 9mm
    Desert Eagle 50 cal
    Uzi. 5mm
    Hunting Rifle.
    Auto-Shotgun.
    M16.
Chainsaw. The best for melee, quite useful when zombies are all around you!
    Minigun.
Flamethrower. The most devastating weapon against zombies.

How it works, you got money from killing zombies and bosses. Then each time you finish a level you can buy weapons and items from the shop! ;)

The game will be @ 1.99$ until multiplayer version (end of January 2010), then the price will rise to 5.99$.
The game will have minor improvements for free, at least once a month.
Keep in mind that the only price rise will be the multiplayer update, any other update (minor or major) its gona be free! :)
    Regards,

    Its a bit of everything.
The atmosphere is purely inspired from Silent hill (fog, dust, real-time flashlight, lens-flare), the game mechanics and controls, inspired from Resident Evil old series, the zombies aggressiveness and styles came from Left4Dead.
The storyline is something between Silent Hill and L4D, but i cannot comment on this! :p Its a surprise! :p
    Cheers! :)

The game is outside only, but we already have a sequel(DeadStrike 2) in production (inside a hospital and out-side town). In fact, DeadStrike 2 will start were the first one will be left of... At the hospital. ;)
I will post a video later for Dead Strike 2 environments (inside the hospital). Btw they are fully finished and is nothing compared to DeadStrike1, it will blow you away, you will simply love it! The environments are pretty scary and well polished. However, this sequel will not be ready until spring 2010. We have few guys working hard on this one, so stay tuned for more!
Btw, i will start a new thread about DeadStrike 2 soon to start getting early input from users and bring to the game, what users really want. :)
    Regards,

The only thing I'm not liking is that you can't walk while you shoot.

That's just awkward and going to be impossibly hard when trying to run away from a boss and shoot at the same time..... you're just going to be standing there trying to shoot him while he attacks you and slaughters you.

Very interesting! A sort of Silent Hill meets Left 4 Dead.
I mean, its appearance is uncannily similar to Silent Hill.
No matter, I'm excited and very much awaiting this one.

It's obviously trying to emulate old school horror games like Resident Evil.

Yeah I understand that but does it work in a Left 4 Dead style game?

Maybe for a Resident Evil game where you have a linear path but not really for a Left 4 Dead game.

We chose a classic control system, as in Resident Evil and Silent Hill you cannot shot while running otherwise it will be too easy. It was designed like that, not be able to run while shooting and see enemies coming get you while you are shooting will create more fear and you will be scared. And this is our main focus with this game, stress the player and create fear. ;)
We are not introducing Rambo heroes with lot of powers ho can crunch zombies without any fear, that's not our goal. The characters on the game are not super well trained marines, they are normal peoples (with different abilities). :) In fact, sometimes standing and fighting hordes of zombies will require a lot of courage, specially the horde fight. You will see it while playing the game. But it wort the effort and courage!, you will get money to buy stuff on the shop! ;)
Also, some times the best thing to do is run to save your life, eg: lots of enemies and low ammo.
    Cheers.
