That makes it better for me, I'm officially pumped for this game. Online Co-Op sandbox RPG game? This is the game I've ALWAYS dreamed of. I thought Left 4 Dead did a good job with it, but it seems Dead Island will blow it out of the water if it delivers. So pumped
I don't know how I feel about this trailer... On one hand... it's nice seeing a zombie game that might actually have a personal and dramatic storyline... on the other hand... when I think about zombie games, all I pretty much want to do is blast away and not worry about what the character's personalities are (most times, they just end up being stupid as hell, and dead pretty quick...) - to me, zombie games are just about killing, LOTS AND LOTS OF KILLING. Not about some dramatic storyline that touches people on a personal level... I will be keeping my eyes on this one though... just to see how it does turn out... =o/

Looks nice, but this is conditional for me. I MIGHT get it. Battlefield 3 first. The engine look stunning though. CryEngine would be the best option considering the island environment but they seem to have done an amazing job anyway.

O-my-FG yes. Degradable weapons? What is it about zombies that make machetes crumble to pieces after 30 or so whacks? Acid blood?
Sorry I might have misinformed you regarding the local co-op. Wikipedia says it will have local co-op but Destructoid says it won't (second to last paragraph).
Gameplay video! Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Looks great. It's less serious than I was expecting which is probably a good thing. Like Dead Rising but only from a first person perspective and on a tropical island. The gun part kinda looks lame, but the focus on this game seems to be the melee combat, which looks awesome to me.
At first I hated the way the gameplay actually looked, it looked too "loose" compared to L4D and other zombie games, but the more I watched the more I liked. Dunno if it's a rental or must-buy, depends if that 30 hour game time is legit.
The gameplay looks fine to me. The graphics could be better, but overall it looks good enough. Reminds me of the graphics in the Saints Row games which look quite simple and cartoony. The thing that concerned me most about the gameplay video was the HUD which stands out too much and kinda clutters the screen. But hopefully it'll be possible to turn certain HUD elements off or adjust the opacity.
