Okay, there is someone angry. But I do understand you. I have put the game on my wish list when it came out & was surprised that I can buy it two days later for 0.99. Couldn't resist the pixels. Just played a couple of levels, had fun so far.
Like I said in my review: This game is worth the price of admission for the music and sound alone, and then there's the graphics! I will play this...
Well, I have to say I hate when something like this happens. It's just so unfair to early adopters. On the other hand, I understand it from the point of developer. If the game's not recognized in first days of release, it's a necessary action to stay on the radar. But I still think it's much better to start with launch sale than doing something like this later. Anyway, I wasn't ready to pay 3,99€ for this game, there were other releases that catched my interest more, so I put it on my wishlist and imagine my surprise the game's already on sale. It's well worth its sale price, the comparison to Hitman Go in sense of gameplay is correct. So if you liked that game, you'll like this one as well. Pixel graphics is a plus, the music is just fantastic. I recommend it.
Considering the movement style (you move, they move) both comparisons are fair. I'd say it's like both, though with the smaller game boards, it's closer to Sneaky Sneaky. So far in the few episodes I've played, it's not combat heavy, so I think its own thing. Consider it a survival game, rather than an assassination one. But yes, I thought I'd add that I'm in agreement with with some other posters on here. The drop to $.99 after an initial higher launch price was a little crappy. I don't have a great isssue, I am enjoying the game, but it was a poor decision to go cheaper so soon. It doesn't show a lot of good will to the early adopters. Most devs have the right idea with launch sales.
People know I'm always an early adopter around here (much like psj). If there's something I want, I'll buy it regardless of price. I'm totally used to getting screwed over by quick sales, but in this case this one really stings, because I gotta agree with Сипу...I didn't like the game, didn't feel like it was worth $4 and instantly deleted it. Meh.
I'd say it's more like a Hitman. I enjoyed Sneaky Sneaky more even though in much shorter but intense burst compared to Hitman. On the other hand, Hitman took me much longer to finish. But gameplay-wise I'd lean to Hitman Go.
I never actually finished Hitman but this game has given me the urge to go back to that lol. Not sure that was the intention of the dev but I have a feeling that this could get boring pretty quick. Hope I'm wrong on that.
So I've just been speaking to the dev on Twitter, and I think this whole price drop thing is just a case of unfortunate timing. They weren't expecting their game to be featured so soon on the AppStore and it shook them up a little. It's their first paid game in four years, and they wanted to do a little bit of last minute promotion to boost attention. Keep an eye out on this forum though. There might be some promo codes...maybe.
.99 is a promotion price for iOS worldwide feature We want to have more people play the game during featured period, so we changed the price from 3.99 to 0.99 while the feature lasts on iOS (Thursday night?) Please share the news with game friends around. -Soo from Deadeyes dev team @loadcomplete or @soointhezone on twitter ** So, adsinjapan helped me learn outside thoughts on our situation (abrupt price change) We are truly sorry for early buyers but had to make a price change to make our feature opportunity worthy! We'll do better on our next release Will be back sometime tomorrow, I'm new here but want to get to know the toucharcade community and listen to your thoughts.
Really sorry about the German translation issue! We've been fraud by German translator, he said he lived in Germany and studied 10+ years... I am guessing he just google translated it first and then didn't really refine it. And yup, we definitely learned we need to really consider the price plan for case of feature... we released and then got featured next morning, kinda brain-freeze came, crazy friday, then during the weekend realized we need a promotion before any later... We will learn from the case, ask around forum to learn previous cases and on. Thanks anyway for playing!
