    Hello Toucharcade!

    The upcoming update will bring a lot of interesting things, but please, keep in mind that these are being prepared by 5 people, who work at their own expense. We're really trying to do our best, but we simply don't have enough resources or manpower to accomplish certain things. End of story, now let's get back to the subject.

    The introduction of the Battle Bow will probably be the biggest new feature in the upcoming update. If you already like our game, we can guarantee that this will be worth it. Along with the bow we will introduce two new survival arenas, each with new achievements and its own unique music. At this point you may ask how the new mod is coming along. Sadly, we will have to disappoint you in this regard because we were unable to bring it into a state which would be presentable to the public, mainly due to lack of time. Currently it's in need of more balance and more unique weapons. All of this is being worked on at the moment, but requires more time. At the moment, we have decided to invest this time into preparing the Android port, which you can expect very soon.

    The game now has HUD detection. This should fix the problem of the icons appearing too small on some devices.

    We have also implemented iCloud for transfer between devices, or should you lose any data from your phone and also a Cloud for Android devices (Google+).

    The game now has the option to turn on green blood (yes, you read that correctly, we hope that this will please some fans) and blood particles have been mildly improved.

    The game has been optimized to run as best as it can on older devices. Sadly, we'll have to disappoint all of those who would have liked the game to run on devices older than (and including) the 4th generation iPod. We have come across a memory restriction that didn't allow us to run the game on these. We apologize for any inconvenience, but it's very hard to find the time to solve all of these problems with only one available programmer.

    We have also added a new Settings feature into the Options menu, which will allow you to edit performance according to your requirements. Using the shaders, effects and visuals, it's possible to set the values to low, medium, high and x-treme. The x-treme setting was developed especially for new devices (iPhone5 and 5s), which support features such as blooming, antialiasing and others.

    The support of game drivers for iOS7 is planned for the next update, so that the release of the current update 1.1 isn't held back by this.

    We have also designed a new icon for the game, as was suggested to us. We have used the security zombie, which will now haunt the display of your device.

    We are also trying to fix all of the bugs and errors reported by our users.

    The statistics for survival mode, which put the scores in the wrong order, have been fixed.

    The armory menu has been improved to work better than it does at the moment.

    The checkpoint system has not been implemented, because the game is designed in a way which doesn't allow us to add this feature without remaking all of the levels, which would take too much time. That's why we're planning to release a new difficulty in the next update (1.2), which will enable auto-healing and the option to enable auto-aim and auto-shooting, depending on the player's preference. The survival mode will have its statistics divided according to difficulty, so that the players playing without auto-healing and other features can only go up against players who are also not using them.

    This was a little something about our first update. We hope that you won't be disappointed.

    Well well well but one thing has remained forgotten I still don't know when the update will be, I want the bow!!!

    Icons is perfect for me and you guys doing very good job!

    Wow I really hope you guys are making good profit! It would've a shame if you guys disbanded after this, I can't wait to see what you guys do next (fingers crossed)! Especially because you said your artist was really good at designing creepy mutants and such!

    Good day to all our fans here at TouchArcade!

    We have a special announcement to make!

    We're really grateful for the support you’ve given us so far, so we’d like to give a little something back.

    We know that many people are excited about our efforts to create some new weapons for the game, so we’ve decided to make it even better. We’ll let YOU design and choose the weapon you’d like to see in the game.


    We are going to do this in the form of a contest for the best weapon design. The contest will have two rounds.

    ROUND ONE will be the initial design round, where you can send us your designs. Anyone can enter, as long as they follow the rules, which are:

    1. Your entry MUST have a short written description of the weapon. Is it big or small? Melee or ranged? If ranged, what ammo does it use? Does something on the weapon move?

    2. Your entry MUST include a sketch of the weapon. We don’t want a professionally drawn design, just something to help us visualize your weapon. We need to be able to see how it should look, in order to know if we’ll be able to put your design into the game.
    If you feel shy about drawing something, don't be. A picture such as this is entirely acceptable.

    3. Please include your name with your design. Designs without a name won’t be accepted.

    4. Send your entries to the email address [email protected] (that’s 'DE Weapon Contest').


    The first one will last until the 31st of October. Entries that arrive after this date will not be accepted.


    After the first round we’ll gather all of your entries and pick those which we can actually implement into the game.


    Then there will be a ROUND TWO, where we’ll show you all of the designs we’ve chosen and you can vote for the one you like the best. This round will last from the 4th of November until the 10th of November.


    The weapon that wins will be implemented into the game as a special Christmas update!

    So grab your pencil and create your dream weapon!

    You guys are the best!...... Would a complete copy of Dead Space's Plasma Cutter be frowned upon?

    There may be problems with that, due to the fact that if we were to include it in the game, it would still be stealing someone else's design (in this case Dead Space). We think that this wouldn't be fair to the Dead Space developers, who put their own time and effort into their own ideas.

    You can, however, try to create your own original weapon based on the Plasma Cutter. One that would have a similar effect, but different design.

    Hmmm... Although a dismemberment tool would be interesting, I seem more intruiged by a weapon similar to the Javelin Gun after thinking about it. Would a weapon like that be able to function within the game's architecture? So a shot to a limb would cut the limb off and/or shoot it back, and an shot to the torso would send the zombie flying back if it's a killing blow, or stagger the zombie if not a killing blow? Then of course the spear like projectiles that would stick in the zombie. Oh wait the dead space javelin gun is too similar to the awesome new Bow, I'll keep thinking!

    There's a difference between a weapon similar to another one and a weapon that's just a blatant copy.
    For example, the bow may be similar to the javelin gun from Dead Space in that its effects are similar (shooting an arrowlike projectile that stays inside the enemy's body). But they are still two different weapons if you look at their visual designs and the way the main character uses them.
    On the other hand, adding a weapon that looks and behaves exactly the same as another one (a complete copy of the Plasma Cutter, for example) would definitely be considered stealing from someone else.

    But back to your weapon ideas. We are looking to add some more melee weapons into the game, so it definitely sounds like a good way to go when trying to think of a design. If you can't decide on one design, feel free to send us more and we'll sort through them.

    But, please, keep in mind that the final decision will be up to the fans who will vote in our Facebook poll. The link will be posted here once the poll is up on the 4th of November.
