Couple of Switch gameplay questions (is that ok to ask here? haha): 1) is it possible to control turrets with the detached head (like in iOS)? 2) is there a setting so that health refills automatically (like in iOS)? Any info would be great, thanks and hope everyone is staying safe.
@macplash You love this game so much, and that kind of overreacting was expected from my side. Yeah, it’s still kinda cheating but wİth trade offs in my book. -Even tho it’s Dead Cells, this is a mobile game the second I start to play it on my phone. So those type of stuff is should be there for sake of convenience. I play it just like I play Max Payne 1 in harder difficulties, save & continue. I need to learn the paths. Instead of watching YouTube videos, I have my own ways to beat Conjonctivius now since I fought w her 2 hours straight. It’s a preference let’s say. -The run I was mentioning took 2 full days. In 2 full days, if I accept death in every run, I could have improved the Forge so much! Instead, I go with the practice. Way weaker, but more wiser. Now I know all the tricks of 1BC, and I believe I won’t be needing to cheat in a couple of days. You improve w 250 runs, I get wiser w 10 runs. Your toy is still yours, my toy is still mine. This does not takes away your winning, excitement and the way you play the game. I’ll get where you are way slower by cheating. Moreover, regardless of all the points, who’s anyone to judge anyone tho? I’d say f**k that!
@bx59 I googled a little and this shit has been here from the beginning apparently. Not only that, but you can also copy your save file and by that make a copy in case you make a mistake. Then in case of death you just load a different save file and continue where you were without a consequence. Is that cheating? I don’t know. In my book yeah, probably. Am I pissed I didn’t figure this out by myself or didn’t find about it sooner and hence didn’t make things easier? I don’t know. Maybe. Or perhaps not. As you said, in retrospect it gave me something. I’m sorry if I overreacted. You’re right about the choice of approach for each of us. I’m in no position to judge anyone for playing the game differently. It just got to me. The fact I probably could’ve spent less time being frustrated when failing if I knew there’s a walk-around. On the other hand I hope it gave me something else. So, yeah. We good?
@macplash I love you man, we share the same passion and that's why we have healthy arguments, it's all in the family bro! <3 <3 <3 I need to beat 1BC soon tho since I need to get Bomb Chicken
1. It is. I believe it’s right stick click to detach your head once you acquire homunculus rune. 2. Auto-hit is iOS only control scheme. Automatic Health flask usage is bound to this control scheme. Once you use manual controls this feature is gone.
Well, it took me almost 200 runs to beat 1BC, LOL. I still found the difficulty curve being the steepest between 0BC and 1BC. Even 4BC where most enemies teleports to you and/or you get infected with malaise by being hit, even that’s not as steep increase in difficulty as playing 1BC. At least it was for me. But with your walk-around I’m sure you’re not gonna get stuck there for so long. And I agree. You DEFINITELY need to get Bomb Chicken. Everybody does! Last but not least, thanks for being understanding and cool. Love you too.
Ok, I know I’m super late to this party. This game has been on my back burner for a long time (and should never have been back burnered) and I just started playing it and OMG this is absofreaking amazing. Now I’ve been playing for days and still haven’t beaten the game. Farthest I have been is the castle and got obliterated instantly. Can’t wait to try again lol First question: Is that far? Is that close to end of the game? I’m obviously still rather early in game in terms of finding good weapons etc. If anyone has tips for a new person starting out what is best to focus on? I’m unlocking all the general stuff with my cells (flask, gold stash etc) and trying to put into permanent forge dude whenever I can for +upgrades. What else should I be focusing on? Just killing as many dudes as possible to get as many cells as possible and the flow of the game/unlockables will just unlock naturally? I’m just looking for some good general advice on how to progress best. I understand and accept I b will continue to die (a lot) and I’m ok with that but just wondering best way to continue advancing and improving. Thanks for all tips and suggestions. Frick, why did I wait so long to play this game??? This may be one of the best games I’ve ever played... And yes, I’ve read through the entire thread and while there was some good info in there, I still feel like I’m missing the basic/genera tips.. oh and I unlocked the sandal...damn that was stupid! Lol
@Mr. Charley in the beginning I guess your focus should be on making the game easier. Which means upgrading essential stuff like Health Flask and + items. There'll be plenty of time to go for specific blueprints for weapons or mutations later. So, focus on Health Flask first. Second is the Legendary Forge and its + items. Because with better equipment you make each run easier. I wouldn't focus on unlocking all the mutations and weapons in 0BC. If there's something that feels like you could benefit from, unlock it of course. But there's also a lot of useless stuff. If you don't like playing Survival builds, don't waste your cells on unlocking shields and green mutations for now. To make it easier I'd go with Tactic builds. Using traps and towers. They'll do a lot of work for you. You can avoid confrontation until you learn enemies' attack patterns and whatnot. And try to focus on synergy between items. Going for the highest DPS shouldn't be your goal. Find a way so the items benefit from each other. If you have primary weapon that has +175% damage on frozen enemies, your secondary weapon should be e.g. ice bow that freezes those enemies. If you have weapon that gives you critical hits on enemies covered in oil, you should have tower or oil grenade that spreads inflammable oil on enemies. And so on, you get the gist. Also, obtaining all the runes should be on your mind. Each rune unlocks different paths so you don't have to go the same route every single run. And to answer your question from the first paragraph: if you made it to High Peak Castle than yes, it's far. After that there's only the Throne Room where the final fight with the Hand of the King takes place. So, you're pretty much in the endgame already. Well, I hope this helps a little. If you have specific questions, don't hesitate to ask. GL, HF.
Thanks. That does help. So @macplash do you recommend combing through each level meticulously through every nick and cranny?
@Mr. Charley Well, that depends.. I guess your goal should be to get yourself to the door after each level, which means killing 60 enemies in a row without being hit (30 in Prisoner’s Quarters). There’s valuable stuff behind those doors, including 20 cells, so it’s always worth it. You can avoid enemies that giving you a hard time. Elite enemies are a great source of necklaces, but if you have one that’s perfect for you, there’s no reason to get into fight with them again. So, it’s up to you. It’s not necessary, but I like to clear everything. On the other hand, speed runners are the exact opposite. My run usually takes almost two hours. Speed run is like 10 minutes.
Another update on steam so I commented asking what about iOS and they said this, I’m not sure what they mean it’s already out on mobile? Sounds like they are trying to say it isn’t there. I don't know if you saw, but Playdigious, the team who are handling the mobile version are ready to release the mobile version quite soon. Once that's out they'll be able to turn their attention to getting the updates out for both platforms. So soonish hopefully!
They’re talking about the Android version. Playdigious have said that once that’s in the bag they’ll start focusing on getting the mobile versions up to speed. Don’t worry, they always fulfill their promises. It’s going to take a good while, but we’ll eventually get there.
Thanks.... Yeah, right stick to detach, but once detached, you cant use it to control/move turrets like in the iOS version....right? The health thing is killing me. That's the biggest difference as I'm constantly dying because I forget to manually do it.
@jpgold I don’t know. On Switch I bought it just to simply have it, but I never made it through 0BC there. I started playing on XBox actively, but the moment it came to mobile, I never touched other platforms again. Sorry I can’t be of any more assistance with this issue. And tbh, I never used this feature anyway. For getting to secret places to get blueprints - sure, but it was just on a few occasions. To get a key in Clock Tower or Stilt village to avoid spikes - absolutely. But to move a turret? Never. Automatic healing flask is a fantastic idea and I took it for granted until I switched to manual controls. Only then I realized it’s bound to auto-hit. The transition was difficult, but I don’t even think about it anymore. The trick is to avoid being hit at all because of bonus doors after each stage and malaise in the later difficulty. Not to mention, it is a feature available on mobile only.
Really? Don’t think I would have made it to BC4 in iOS if I wasnt using my detached head to position turrets on a different platform so I was out of harms way.
@jpgold yeah, if I’m running Tactics build I usually jump into the action, throw some turrets around, jump out of it so the enemies start to follow me and then jump back for a final kill.. but truth to be told, I’m preferring 3BC for casual play where there’s no teleporting. I beat the game on 4BC a few times just to get some achievements but otherwise there’s no point for me to play it. Unless there’s a new content added rewarding me for playing on highest difficulty, I’m fine with relaxed runs on 3BC, experimenting with different builds and stuff.
