DDR lite is out in japan, for the price of free. Here is a video (not me)

I downloaded it and it is kinda boring because there is only one track. The controls work well and it is kinda cool because there is a dancer in the background as opposed to a static image. I only hope that when they release the full version here in the us that is has some non japanese songs. Overall, i couldnt see myself paying over 5 bucks for this. I would say to buy it if you are a fan of DDR and that techno-japanese music style.

Could someone please explain to me why you'd release the Lite version before the full version? If someone wants the app immediately (from hype usually), they'll go for the full version without ever checking a review or playing the lite version. Now, if someone wants it, they'll go for the lite version and possibly realize it's not as great as they were hoping for and end up not buying it.

I'm pretty sure that's how it works anyway... I could be off though, lol :p

I don't want this to turn into a TTR vs DDR thread, but I have to agree with you on that.

yes i did download it. Go to the bottom of itunes and change the country to japan (the one not in english) Then create an account, you can use adsf for address, name etc. For phone number it will tell you how many digits are needed. DL, change back, and there you go.

Its like a demo. If you make a good game then you should release a lite version to get people interested and possibly buy it when the full one comes out.

Yes, I know that, but what I'm saying is that you can get more buyers if you release the full version first.

Awesome, I"m a huge fan of Bemani style games (DDR, Beatmania/DJ Max, etc) and this has my interest. I wonder how many songs are on the full game and how much its going to cost.

I'm a big fan of the Bemani games too, and I personally thought that the demo played very well. I can't wait for the full version.

Oh, I watch the video halfway through and cannot help but thinking I have already downloaded the game, played it so much my fingers soared and I removed the apps from my iPhone....actually, the apps has not even arrived in my local iTunes Store.

One song for a free version, fine, but many (?) months ago, there is another free game existed "Tap Tap Revenge" which also causes your fingers to soar (with extra merit to shake your phone). However, they have more than one song for you and let you download more songs for free!

If this were not DDR, I guess I am not typing now...

I hope this comes with real, liscensed songs because the gameplay doesn't look any better than Tap Tap Dance or Guitar Rock Tour.
