-this was part of my previous response that was too long to fit. i wrote this when u said u would have to rebalance the game and it made me think of other stiff i would like: also, i would like a story line change. its like my dude lives by himself ... like where was he born? where family at? how did i meet old wise man? i have to build my own village from scratch. but why not how about this: i start the game. I'm a baby or a kid. i was nborn in a village of crafters. see have a river (need for crafting rafts, boats, paddles, canoos, bridges and more) we have trees, lakes, houses, lots of people N i love my village. i have a loving family that gives me my first starting items and tell me one day i will be like my papa and be the great master crafter. i am inspired. grew up to b like papa. my village has a trading center or store or market place, so i can craft tons of stuff and sell what I don't need. each item i sell sells for cheap cuz I'm a generous guy an i craft cuz i love it not cuz i want money. but i can also buy stuff, but it cost money. so i craft, sell, and can buy stuff from my fellow village people, and sometimes like once a year people from other villages come to trade with us and theres all kindles of exotic goodies i can buy. like exotic stuff that ill never be able to craft, which give me reason to sell my stuff in the trading place and get lots of money but i gotta save up my money so i can buy the really rare cool looking exotic stuff from foreign villagers once a year. its like a festival every year where all villiage come together to share stuff and celebrate the new year. maybe i can also buy rare statues and paintings and deer heads to put in my house on my wall or on my floor. need a picture of a wall in my house so i can see a buck on the wall and statue on floor. but these cost soooo much money like ot takes me years to save up money to buy it. each year there's new stuff but every few years i might see something i saw i few years ago so if i coud not buy it back then i can buy it when it shows up again in a few years. also, these exotic items, they have cool design, cool colors, cool unique stuff i can never craft. i can also craft cool stuff but never the stuff from other villiages cuz that stufff is not from my culture and we don't kno Howe to craft it. And maybe if i save up enough money, once a year at the world festival maybe i can save up enough money to pay for lessons or pay for classes to learn exotic recipients from grand master crafters in other tribe villiages. Maybe if i pay enough i can learn from those foreign grand masters so i can craft their cool stuff? maybe i can also give them lots of materials and money to pay the foreign grand masters to craft me something awesome and i can revieve it next year at the world festival. but this can only happen once a year at the world festival with other tribes and villiages. and maybe at this world festival there is a crafter hall of fame with pictures of the worlds best crafters. maybe one day i can be on the wall as one of the best crasfters ever. and maybe my kids can be on the wall too if they live long enough and reach grand master level too. i hope they don't have a kid and die before grandmaster level or they wont be on the wall in the hall of fame. maybe i can find me a wife if my villiage to marry me and make me kids. man, I would have to build so much stuff. my wedding would need lots of tables, all kinds of foods, like all kinds of salads, meats, soups, berry deserts. yum. everyone would love all my food. maybe i could build a huge building for lots of people next to a lake, and next to the building i could build lots of wooden bench seats in rows for all my guests and a isle in between the rows so when i get married we can walk up the middle between all the guests. i would need to build a platform for my wifey and I to stand on and an archway to be behind us to look good. i would need to get lots of hide for a rug to go down the isle. and i would need lots of flowers to decorate the wooden arch behind my wifey and i. maybe i could paint the wooden arch white. maybe i could paint my wooden bench seats white too. so i have 10 rows of benches of each side and 2o benches total and they are all white. but idk maybe i would make them all red or green or maybe ill color them a rainbow of colors. maybe ill only have 6 benches on each side and paint 1 bench red, the next orange, the next yellow, the next green, the next bench blue, the next purple, then ill have a rainbow of benches. but dont get any funny ideas I'm a guy and i only like the ladies. my rainbow doesn't mean anything its just pretty for my wifey. maybe i could hang small branches on my white wooden archway too. I'm talkin about the one behind us. or u kno what, i might just be really creative and craft wooden archways all the way up the isle to walk under and then have a grand arch much bigger behind us at the front on the wooden platform where we say our marriage words and kiss. dang that would take a lot of paint brushes, small branches (uncut), and flowers to decorate all of those wooden archways. this marriage would take a long time to plan and craft. i would halve to make stuff and place it in my village as i make it cuz there's no way it would all fit in my containers. it might even take years to craft it all cuz of how ambicious i am. and my wife, i forgot to tell you how i met her. as i grew up there were always lots of girls in my village. ever since i was a kid i had my eye on this one girl. you see. my papa. my papa introduced me to all his friends and their kids. the first time i met everyone was at the world festival once a year. we had a tribal ceremonial dance and next to the bon fire my papa crafted. maybe one day i can be the one that crafts the yearly festivals bonfire. anyway that's when I'm older. so the dance, back to the dance. my papa said its custom for the grandmasters kid to get first pick of a dance partner. all the girls lined up and i saw all of them side by side. i tapped on the girl i thought was pretty. none of the old ladies i got to pick from. the old ladies were too old, yuck. i didn't want to dance with them cuz this is my first festival and I'm so young. maybe when I'm older if I'm not married by then ill get a chance every year to choose an older lady to dance with. but right. now I'm a kid so all my choices are also kids. so i see this one girl. she has the cutest teeth like a bunny and a chop stick going through her pony tail. i really like her. i bet with her cute buck bunny teeth she could really tear through a wild boar with me. oh i would love to go hunt a boar and give it to her. maybe she would like that. i wonder if i start giving her stuff if she will like me a lot. I wouldn't want to kiss her. yuck. maybe when I'm older like next year or in a few years but i wonder if i craft her a bone necklace if she would like that. yea that's it! ill give her a boar and a bone necklace and then we can eat together like old people do when they go on a play date together. My papa said old people eat stuff and then go play in their room. i think that's what I'm supposed to do. maybe i can eat a boar with her and her cute buck teeth and then give her a bone necklace and maybe she will come play with me in my room after. Yea! Some of the other girls are pretty too. Maybe ill play with all of them to see which one i like most. But papa said if i give gifts to all the girls they will get jealous and not like me as muc. Papa said i have to pick 1 girl and only give her gifts and if i keep giving her gifts after a few years when we are older she will marry me and we will have a kid when we want to. But I'm way too young to think about that now. I dont even know what I would craft her for years... i only know a few things to craft. If i give her the same stuff enough times she will get tired of it and not like my gifts anymore, so i need to keep learning new stuff and give her better and better stuff as i get older. Papa also said i dont have to do this if i dont want to. I can skip the dance every year and never get a girl friend if i dont want one. He said i might not want one now but i might want one when I'm older so if i skip the dances now and never meet any girls, ill have a chance to when I'm older. He also said when I'm older some of the girls might not want to meet me anymore because they already met someone else and married them. But its ok, he said, because once I'm older and have proven myself as a man ill get the chance to meet exotic girls from other villiages and i can dance with them once a year and give them lots of gifts once a year. Eventually if she likes me enough maybe she can come visit me a few times a year and we can eat food and then play in my room. But i would need to craft a play house because my papa wont let my play with girls in his play house. That's for only him and mama. I need to build my own play house and put furniture in it like a table and chairs so we can eat, and maybe 1 or 2 beds if we get tired and want to go to sleep. How many beds do i need? Maybe ill put 2 beds because I'm so young i cant sleep with girls yuck. Maybe when I'm older and she likes me a lot she will randomly get in my bed. That would be awesome but not till im older. Then i can use a claw tool to take apart the extra bed and make other stuff. Awe man my friend just got to my house so i have to go i cant keep typing.
notification: i guess i missed it I think 1 wolf should take up 1 space, cannot fit in container, gives something like 10-20 meats, each cooked meat gives idk 20% or 40% energy who knows, so eat few cooked meats and u R full. Hunting wolf cost idk 90% energy. Spears or club hav 5/5 durabilty or something like dat before the sharp stone or bones on club become dull and weapon unusable... so use basic claw to remove d dull sharp stone N then add vine rope and new sharp stone to make new spear, using same stick from first one. i would like to have 5 buffalo 100/100 meats taking up 5/25 slots, and buffalo cant fit in container... then i can feel secure about food and whenever i need meat i can cut it from buffalo. if i want 20 cooked meat i take 20 from buffalo leaving it with 80/100 left. then i can cook 20 meat and put it in pot. 1 spear 5/5 durability used to kill 5 buffalo. once buffalo 0/100 meat i can skin it and have a huge rug or shape it into clothes or cut it into pieces/strips to create other clothes or stuff. i kno my ideas would not work tho cuz it'd have to be a whole new game. bag issue: ok I didn't kno that. thank you "please do": fishing was just like the problem with sending me dude out to get wood with 2 leaf bag and a 50/50 axe, but when fishing he came back with even less than the wood. so i saw a bigger problem of the saem problm with fish as wood. 5 stone stack: the stackin can be changed easy, just have to set stack limit to all 300+ items. each item has to have a specified stack limit. if coding: abcdefg= stack limit 1000. hijklmno = stack limit = 100. pqrstuv = stack limit = 50. wxyz = stack limit = 1. container size: great!! I'm so glad to kno that. i need bigger ones bad
Have you tried resizing all 25 squares to move them to the left a little bit to make space for a thin scroll bar on the right side of the screen? You could have a parallax effect wit the top part of screen with dudes staying there, while the 25/25 square section scrolls down by sliding a scroll bar on the right side of the screen, between the edge of the screen and the 5th column of squares. When u scroll down the squares on screen slide up and disappear under the top section where the dudes are, so the dude section always stays on top and never moves. If u resize the 25 squares to put scroll bar on right side, u will have to slightly resize the top half with the dudes to be larger vertically because downsizing the 25 squares to fit scroll bar on the right will cause the 25 squares to not be as big vertically, leaving a tiny gap between the top half and the 25 squares.
Maybe after i beat the game 1 or 2 times to know the real value. The prob is u want everyone that plays to understand the value and make purchase that they cant pass up before they get bored and delete it. Us kids dont hav long attention span and there's so many games that there's lots of nuts kids gonna be having gift cards from birthdays and Christmas in our iTunes account and u want us to see the value and make the purchase before its too late and we get bored or play so many other games we forget about this one. Its impiortant for ppl to realize the value of an IAP within the first hour of playing, and also give 1 time only discount packs for players to buy a "starter pack" at a discount price if they buy within the first hour of play time, then maybe some other discount after 5 hours of play time idk. PPL love to get great value starter packs to give a good head start on a new game if they get that good feeling rush from being excited/addicted to San awesome new game. They are basically waiting to see a starter pack discount pop up so they can buy it. But I wouldn't do it all in ur face u kno, huge pop up.. but more calm like they can find out that the discount exists but its not like thrown in your face Edit: by "great value" I mean it. The iAP goods have to be worth more than the asking price or its not a valuable offer. So if the IAP starter pack offer has $10 of goods but the first hour discount offer is for $5 instead of $10, then that's "great value." And after playin for 1 hour the iAP starter pack goes back to $10. So u can only get it for $5 if u buy within the first hour. That's what I'm talkin bout. The $10 iAP needs to have great value to begin with, that way every single time someone sees the offer for $5 they insta-buy cuz can't pass it up. This tactic can be used for anything not just the first hour discount. Ppl love discounts. That's why every single product for sale on Amazon is discounted almost year round. Discounts and value are what sell.
Not me. Personally I hate in app purchases and tend to avoid games that have them, especially if they have pop ups trying to get you to buy them. The only reason I downloaded DoC at all is because its a crafting game.
I agree... I don't like the all in your face pop up... But there are a lot of people that do want starter pack iAP to get a head start and I understand your not one of them. My suggestion is an offer that is Not a pop up but a calm notification like maybe a number 1 shows up on the settings icon to notify you something is new. And in there is the offer. It's not all in your face. There for the ppl tht want it and ignorable for the ppl that don't
I understand what gameboy is saying with the advertising as the devs need to make money in order to advance the game and the best way to do that is with in app purchases. But I also only bought this game because it's a crafting game....now I'm glad I did and even find myself buying in app items just because this game is such a work of art!
We already have a wooden bin item...maybe it can be made to be functional? We might also make it a tap and hold to transfer a stack like transferring from a container to your inventory. That means that there will be no information on an item which could be worked around with a button in the corner that could be taped and then tap an item you want the information on. Just another way to get the same results I guess
1. Where will the trashcan be on the UI? 2. I don't thing removing dragging is a good idea. (the game didn't have dragging 1 year ago). We've done a lot of user testing and people were constantly trying to drag the items to places rather than tapping on them. So its a more intuitive action which we want to keep.
So as far as I understand your main request is being able to get more food easily. Well I'm currently adding village mechanics and I'll throw in some traps & farms to make it better We won't rebalance it this way because from the coding point this will take 1-2 months to implement while not making the game that much better. We can just add better buildings and other mechanics in the same time.
Lol, I like the story, though it got out of hand a little later We can't change the story right now. But something like this can be done on our next game. (don't know when, we haven't started working on it, but we have ideas accumulating) When it comes to your first questions: "where was he born? where family at? how did i meet old wise man?" the story tells you how you met the old wise man. But the others, they are up to your imagination. If you've beaten the game you'll learn a lot more about the world and how it works. Overall good story for an MMO or Single Player Crafting Game like Pokemon. Maybe we can take parts of it and add it to the current game but no promises.
I'm not sure it'll be a good idea. If everything has the same stack limit, the player can easily understand the game. But if everything has a different stack limit it may be more confusing than it is good for the player.
I'm guessing you play on the ipad. I tried resizing the main inventory but anything smaller than the current inventory decreases gameplay by a lot. I can still tap & use the items as I want but 20% of the people start having a hard time with the smaller icons, they tend to tap or drag the wrong items which results in frustration which results in them stopping playing.
This makes sense. We don't have a discount mechanic in place, but we will think about it and design something for it. The hardest part is not bothering the player with the discount popups. Let me know if you get an idea about it.
I think this hasn't been answered. 1. Increase hunting skill (You lose less durability) 2. Hunt lower animals (You lose less durability) 3. Build the large parts (chest) with weaker materials and build the rest with stronger materials. Not very helpful but there you go
