Definitely. We're getting closer and closer to a release candidate. There's a list of things to tweak, but nothing major. Continuing to build levels to give everyone a nice amount of game time, and adding a few more objects just because we want to. Current version has achievements as well. The in-game level editor will -probably- not ship at launch. While the in-game editor works fine, some associated aspects of it arent to our standards (i.e. we dont like how we built one piece of it), and we want to polish it and provide a good user experience. So, the editor will most likely be part of the next release. We expect that before the holidays as well. Plus more levels, and a bigger assortment of objects. Apart from levels, we are in polish mode.
Yes, "close" definitely is closer. As in just a couple days from submission, barring any late bugs found by beta testers. Made some last minute changes so we're trying to pound the game now, to make sure its solid. Also looking to finish the first update set by the time the app gets approved as well, with more levels and the level editor code solid and polished. There will also be a couple nice additions that couldnt make it into this first release as well. And of course, it will be a free update.
Just an update for everyone, we have submitted DaVinci's Secret Machine's to Apple for review last Sunday, so hopefully we will have approval soon!
Thanks Prab. We're looking at a $.99 intro price for the first few days or so. Then boosting it up a bit. Just trying to cover costs, and keep us going for the next game, and the game after that, and the game after... Also working on another small title that we can hopefully release for the holidays, get the level editor and more levels for DaVinci done, then, if we are funded enough, work on a mega title. We're small, so its tough, but we're dedicated to iPhone only, and working 16 hours a day, so its almost as if we're twice as big...which is still small
Wow... thats a pretty ambitious plan. Be careful though... Im sure a lot of devs are targeting a launch in December in time for the holidays. So the approval time may go up. Anyway, good luck with the submission and your upcoming games. Im sure you all will stay above ground
Well, if there are no challenges in life, then life aint worth livin'! We've had our share of setbacks during DaVinci, too. including my cat Barf dying (RIP!), the artist ending up in the hospital for a time, etc. But we fight back, and come out stronger.
Approved! Just wanted to update this and let everyone know that we have just received approval from Apple, and that the game should be up in all the stores shortly. It's making its rounds now. It's been a long ride, but we're just getting started... DaVinci's Secret Machines on the App Store
