Hmmn, I'll look into this. By the way, was there a noticeable increase in framerate for you, or were you using a device that had the no movement bug?
I updated my five star review of this awesome game. Others should too. Helps keep David in the top charts..where it belongs Richard
I've got an Air and a 2 to try it on, though I've started moving away from the 2 and mainly play on the Air. I suppose there is an increase in framerate (or just speed?) considering the jumping feels more responsive and needs less time to be held down.
Well that sounds like a success! I think I've found a way to make it even faster too. And man, I'm excited to share these new levels I'm working on. Woo!
So hey Touchers, I need a bit of help. Since the update, I don't have a visible rating, (and I think this has something to do this drop off in sales that I'm having,) so I was hoping I could have a few of you go in and update your ratings/reviews. It'd be a big help for me!
I already did right when the update came out. How many reviews does it need before a rating shows up? You have four. I think that should be enough. Damn Apple...
"Damn Apple" is right. They make it really tough to be seen and stay seen. I kinda understand starting the ratings over when you update, but in my situation, it definitely did not help... I'm really not sure how many ratings are needed. 4 seems like enough to me... Thanks coolpepper!
Ya, it's must be very hard being an ios app developer. If your not featured, your completely screwed. If you are, your good for the week but after that once you fall off the charts your screwed again. I have said they need to extend the top app list to include at least 300 apps, heck even 500. Or maybe a page that shows all of the previous featured apps. I just came up with that one just now. What do you think would help devs get more noticed on the App Store? There is a thread discussion about it. Free apps do very well but damn do I hate them, so does about everyone on TA. Maybe if you released a lite version that only had the first 2 levels that might get you more exposure? But please for the love of god do not make your games free to play or freemium.
The wait was worth it, I am in love, I'm not very good yet and I know that my language is going to go downhill in a few levels but I'm gonna have fun. I can happily now leave a five star review on the uk store. Thanks for fixing and taking on board the suggestions etc. The uopdate came just in time for me to show everyone at my mams the game so you should get a few sales from the uk today.
Yeah, David wouldn't ever work as a complete FTP game. I thought about putting out a free version that only has the intro and two levels, but was afraid to do that for a few different reasons. Maybe now though that the paid version has sunk I don't have anything to lose. As far as other options for devs on the App Store, I don't have a solution. The market is huge, and the number of apps is also huge, and I think they're doing a fairly good job, really, but it's still extremely frustrating as a dev. Maybe a fix would be to not allow as many trash games to be put into the store. More curating, if you know what I mean. It would be slower, yeah, but better in the long run I think. Who knows?! I try not to think about it too much, because of the imminent frustration. A.K.A. I have no power...
At best, keep pushing the PC version. More stores, more control over price, more opportunities for exposure and to be featured in bundles.
It takes a bit of time to get the hang of it, but you'll get good! However, I still swear excitedly at the game when I play, because DANG, it's tough. I super appreciate the review and the help spreading the word. Thanks, friend!
Yep! Will do. But man, I'm tired of not working on the actual game. Marketing is neat, but I'm much better at building games. I never expected to have to spend so much time on this part. Soon though, I'll give it up and work on expanding David, and on developing a new game(s). Yeah! I should probably just put someone else in charge of marketing next time. LIVE 'N' LEARN.
My husband says I know bad words that he didn't even know existed and that a mother should not speak the way I do. Lol
What do you mean that your language is going to go downhill? Are going to going to start typing like your are a five year old, or are you expecting any kind of head trauma? This game is great but stop playing the levels if it means that you will lose the ability to communicate well. I'm worried!
I have no idea if this is true, but I imagine that PC sales can help out with IOS sales. In that, someone buys the game on PC, wants to play the game on the go, and gets the game on IOS. But personally I feel like that game has the most potential on PC. Having played both, I think it's feels more natural to play with keyboard and mouse and then you have the possibility for things like level/boss editor, modding, Steam Workshop if/when David is Greenlit. Not sure if those are in the cards, but the PC version has the potential for growth and expansion that the IOS version doesn't
