    This was a really fun update. Reminded me of the jumps in F-Zero, where a well aimed jump could avoid a difficult part of the track. Nice job on continuing to add variety!

    Arcade Season Week #6 Car!

    LET'SA GO!
    This weeks Dashy Crashy update should be live today: unlock the SUPER KART.

    We're often asked to add 'ITEMS' to Dashy Crashy, so it was fun to play around with an item system and also find a solution for 'drivers' - you may have noticed there are no drivers in Dashy Crashy! - emoji's seem to fit the bill and we even added a bunch of selectable 'drivers' in the garage too (tap to change/driver) ##

    I have to say this is the first update that I don’t like.

    A minor issue: the shadow for the cart is too thin, which gives the impression that the kart is floating above the track. For me, this is distracting.

    A major issue: Each lane change causes a speed up and perspective change. I understand that you’re going for the feel of drifting turns in Mario Kart here, but it’s way too constant - to the point of making me dizzy.

    I’m a completionist with this game, so I’m sorry to say I’m going to have to skip this one.

    Heya! Thanks for the feedback, I'll take a look at the shadow, we've made some tweaks to Update 2.9.2 which should drop over the weekend. Haven't changed the camera, it's using the same camera we used for Outrunner, Driiift Racer etc (to give a bit more weight to drifting). I wonder if the 'start hop' is adding 'noise' for you ##

    Update 2.9 **KARTING EVENT**

    LET’SA GO! Grab 777 items in the SUPER KART before October 26th to keep it!


    • Drift between traffic and smash ITEM BOXES...
    • … TAP to use items: Boost, Rocket, Shield or Invincibility!

    Travis: Karting games are close to our hearts - I designed Wacky Races (Dreamcast) and SONIC & SEGA All-Stars Racing - and we're often asked to add 'ITEMS' to Dashy Crashy, so this update has been on our 'to do' list a while. The item system was simple enough, we selected emoji that best represents the core karting items:

    # Shoot (x3)
    ⚡️Super Boost (x3)
    #Shield (1 hit)
    #Invincibility (10s)

    Drivers on the other hand were more of a challenge! The SUPER KART needed an open cockpit, but as you may have noticed there are no ‘drivers’ in Dashy Crashy. We tried a bunch of solutions such as 'bobble heads' and 'super deformed' racing helmets, before eventually striking on emoji's - which seems obvious for Dashy Crashy, right? We even added a bunch of selectable ‘drivers’ in the garage too (tap the kart to change colour/driver) ##

    Hmmm. I just checked and you’re right about the camera. It does react the same as outrunner. Maybe it’s just everything together. The animation on the lane change, the camera drop, the acceleration, watching for traffic while waiting for the item cycle to finish. It’s a lot to deal with at once.

    I’ve decided to keep at it (damn gotta catch em all obsession) and I’m making a dent, and I LOVE the idea behind the items.

    PS, I see no way of adding a driver to the kart. I can change the color but that’s it. Just an empty seat. I’m on an iPhone se if it helps.

    Kept at this, and once I got used to the car animation (I think it was the jump plus the perspective shift at the same time that got to me) it was a blast. I have to say, overall, this is easily my game of the year. When I'm not doing challenges, I'm trying to get gold with the other cars - all of which change up the game in some way. This is the perfect time suck for either a 30 second play, or a 30 minute play ;)

    Ha! Thanks for sticking with it, we've made a bunch of tweaks to the SUPER KART in Update 2.10 - hopefully out Friday - including popping the driver back in; in the end we had to remove the emoji drivers due to legal pressures, so it's now a happy Dumpling driving. Halloween this week too (if I can stop twiddling with this level...) ##

    Hey folks, we're hoping the next Dashy Crashy update will be Nov. 16, with 4 new vehicles to unlock.

    The delay is a combination of gameplay not coming together in time, the team fixing issues with indieSKY and Amazon versions, AND making SMASH TANKS! ( when we kicked-off Arcade Season, we hadn’t yet decided to release SMASH TANKS! this coming Holiday # ).
